As a filipino who lives here for 14 years, Singapore is such a great country. Everything so efficient and safe. I always tell to our patients how blessed Singapore is. No natural disasters too.

Whether we like it or not, all Singaporeans have foreign roots. Everyone can trace their ancestry to somewhere else in the world.

It doesn't matter whether you are new citizen or native Singaporean , you are already a Singaporean when you receive your pink IC . Just ignore those people who express unwelcome remarks . Yes , they have nothing batter to do . This are the people who are not happy / contented with their life in Singapore.

@@SingaporeOne the first time i went there is for vacation i went to sentosa and some museums back when i was in highschool. now an artist the next 2 times i was there is when we had an exhibition i think it was singapores art week and it was the first time i've seen a country celebrate art, it was an amazing experience everywhere you go you'll see art installations and exhibits. that's the main reason i fell inlove with singapore. I also love the food and accessibility of things is just one metro away. the people also the different culture in harmony with each other is quite uniquely singapore.

I prefer philippines over sg... those who r educated filippo looked down their fellow poorer citizens...get rid the senators n middle/rich filippo...

That would make things worse. The Philippines needs more humility alongside education. And it needs a leader with iron discipline similar to Lee Kuan Yew to set the standard across all sectors of the society. Root out corruption in both public and private sector - just as Singapore set out to do from the beginning, and it worked. Only then can Philippines truly flourish. Some say it's impossible to get rid of corruption, but Singapore is a case study that proves otherwise. I believe in a society where everyone can be well off and rich without sacrificing morals and integrity. Filipinos can learn a lot from the Singapore model. Train the next generation to be aware of how Singapore creates good leaders. It will require a complete overhaul to how things are done in the Philippines.

As for looking down at the poor... never look down at other people. Only look down at bad behaviours and set the appropriate penalties and programs for course correction. As an example, Singaporeans used to pee in elevators, which was finally stopped around the country by installing CCTV and setting strict fines.
