Its beautiful how talented Rebecca's character is, yet she gave up her opportunities to pursue a career to be a mom, and the way this is the song she chose, and the way the song is the theme shows how her role as a mother ties the family together from the past into the future, she is the heart of the family. It's like Rebecca is saying: This is Us. Our story. And even though I am forgetting, these moments are forever with all of us together.
This song totally foreshadowed the Train episode. She sings about getting a moment with Jack forever now. She gets to be with him forever in the afterlife 😭
When I watch older Rebecca singing this song it is hard to imagine this is the same Mandy Moore who sang Candy when I was a teen. Mandy can bring you to tears with this song. She also did that singing in A Walk to Remember.
It really allows us to see the fragility of life & we through this song see our own immortality reflected in Rebecca's character. 2 boxes of tissue please 🙏

Actually, it's makes sense. Their relationship is already ruined because of their differences in their vision of the family. The odd thing is, Philip character is the only one that doesn't have enough screentime. Even, Madison has more screentime than him. So, personally I didn't feel he is part of the family. Toby is very well known by all of us. The final season kinda rushed. But, still very good.
They thought she was playing in the wedding but actually she was playing for Jack at the restaurant
