I'm an Architect and we are 6-7 weeks away from being done renovating a lovely house that Rene Chouzenoux designed at 590 S Harrison Lane in the late 60's. The overall layout is eerily similar to this house in that the public and private wings of the house form a "V". I would absolutely LOVE to get my hands on this baby. I'm touring it this afternoon.
I helped landmark your neighbor, Alan Gass' house at 602 S Harrison Lane. We're still just touching the surface of what Chouzenoux designed. I think he designed another house on Green Mountain with almost the same floorplan as well. I'd love to see what you've done with 590!
Kimberly this is indeed a beautiful home. One of the things I liked about it is that the house is green. But the only thing that I would suggest, and advise is that the house needs to be updated. I see many parts of the house that needs to be brought up to date. Some/most people are more prone to buying houses that have been either renovated or just brought up to date. Some/most people don't want a home where they have to fix up a lot of things or a house where they have to pay someone to fix up a lot of things. I am a former real estate agent.
Will probably need a major wiring upgrade, plumbing, HVAC. Most don't know the value of St. Charles kitchen cabinets and some other items in the property. From what I can see, it would require about a million dollars to bring it back. Unfortunately the ceilings are too low for today's taste and other elements that can't be changed. Bulldozer bate.
@@kennixox262 Ken anything can be changed in a house beloved. It's just you that doesn't see the vision and the possibilities of what can be done in this home. There are so many things in this world that have been possible and there are so many things in this world that have been accomplished by way of someone saying that it can't or couldn't be done like yourself.
Don't forget the power eyelid exhaust vents above the wall ovens. Vents out the heat and smoke from the ovens. Wish they still had those today. Unfortunately, I see this time capsule being poorly remodeled by a flipper or the lot scraped.
@@kimberretrorealtor Hopefully, there is an architectural salvage business in that area. Usually they know what is valuable and what can be removed. Those St. Charles kitchen cabinets are worth saving.
Stunning mid century home. I hope it doesnt become a tear down or "updated" as most are done.
Me too!

I wish you would have recorded from further away so we could see the entire room... beautiful house

It's definitely at risk. If someone does scrape it or pull out everything, I'd love to salvage some pieces
