He clearly diverted the attention away from her actual question. She had a VERY valid question, probably from good suspicion that he was using his heritage as a card to say "I'm allowed to say that". He didn't answer her question, instead asking her if he said anything wrong TONIGHT. Maybe he didn't, but that doesn't excuse what he did in the past.
For example, if someone asks "I am concerned that you're using your police status to target and kill people of colour" and he replied "have you seen me kill anyone tonight?" You'd see the logical discrepancy

I've seen enough of the speaker's videos to know that he generally doesn't answer questions or observations with just one statement, so if he did Just say that, that'd be pretty out of character.
