It's crazy how Shotgun would look down on and intimidate Money in the beginning and towards the the end of the movie Money ends up having more authority over Shotgun!
He was brute force but even on the inside it was apparent that as he was only a soldier, a violently capable one who "lived for this" but never the thinker, he followed Bottles and later Money. What did The Beast say "a warrior's greatest weapon is his mind" and Shotgun didn't use his.

I'd also like to think that Jon Bernthal did a good job of portraying how his character would react to being stabbed to death by someone who he had to respect and betray but also kind of feared. I don't know what that would actually look like, but I think Bernthal portrayed that amazingly. Great actor, everyone in this did a fantastic job. This is one of my favorite movies, so much so that I got one of Money's tattoos last year.

Yeah, but at the time of the ending of the movie he was already like 10 years in prison, Money rose in gang ranks.
