I get that by korean people standards the big sister would be prettier but i find the youngest prettier. She has a nice face and cute dimples and she's also a really nice person seeing how she defended her mom and sister after. I would better be friend with her than hang out with the oldest one any day. What's the point of being pretty if you're a mean person? She seems to be a mean person. And the mom is such a huge disappointment! The younger sister is not fat or ugly at all. She's cute and has a face that can make people feel at ease. The mother and sister on the other hand, look mean and I wouldn't want to talk to them. Looks aren't everything, even Kai and Lay know that from all the disapproving glances they were giving the sister and mother. I also thought it was adorable how Kai and Lay both stood up to help the youngest daughter when she slid down the slide.
I know the older sister seemed overly arrogant with herself, the mother seems to be self concsious about the whole thing. The younger sister is a person I would love to hang out with, and she has a kind, welcoming and beautiful face and body type. Why is the family body shaming her? At the point where the young Pretty girl was called "fat" I would've lost my temper.
1. A mother shouldn't fat shame their child!
2. She was born from her genes so basically it's the mothers fault.
3. She's not Jesus so she can't tell her daughter what to do for the rest of her life.

The girl's BMI is 20. The healthy BMI to have is between 18,5 - 24,9 and she is within those numbers so she can't be considered fat.
Obviously beauty standards are different in each culture but the fact that the mom and sister think it's "a really big problem" makes 0 sense. It doesn't affect her health, it's only a matter of esthetic and if she is happy the way she is, then let her be.
They say they are SO worried but they are making her feel bad about herself and those types of insecurities are very hard to deal with, I know from personal experience.
Now that poor dog, he is overweight and I seriously hope the owners take better care of him. He might look pitiful when we wants to eat but believe me, he will look worse when he can't even walk.

Jimcrv The only problem with that is that they want to rethink the whole BMI thing. it doesn't take into consideration someone's frame, genetics and proportions. This means that BMI can not be used to measure the health of everybody, Asian people tend to have a different frame compared to western people, this means that you can only use a BMI that is specified towards those type of body shapes and frames and they wouldn't exactly be accurate when using western BMI.

not at all do I consider her to be unhealthy or overweight, I'm just saying that even comparing outside the BMI she would not be considered overweight anyway. most of the time doctors consider obesity to excess skin and fat, which can put a stress on your heart.
I just mentioned the BMI thing as in some cases BMI puts people as overweight when physically they are not...

I'm sorry but I'm really pissed off right now. That girl's mother and sister are so rude! It's not like she's fat or obese, she's at a nice weight and looks healthy. Telling your own daughter that she's ugly and her older sister looks better than her is NOT caring. People (especially teens) commit suicide everyday because of bullying, and to be bullied by not only your sister, but your parents as well and have to live with them everyday is not good. I feel so bad for her :(
that's because you're probably american or something. truthfully, the girl said she understands her family is concerned about her, because they want her to eat healthy. things are not always like in the west, their culture is different, they don't act like spoiled brats and go kill themselves over stupid things like americans do. and if cancer was running through their family, the mother is true, the girl should pick a more balanced diet, otherwise it would be very dangerous. all they have to do is tone down a little bit. we can't judge them just by being bystanders. you can be thin and have an awful health, trust me.

You don't get cancer from eating unhealthy. No matter if she eats healthy or not, it's not going to stop her from getting cancer, it may reduce the chance, but it won't stop it. If anything, her eating unhealthy will lead to diabetes. I do live in the U.S but even if something like this is considered 'stupid' in your opinion, you don't really know how bad it's effecting her on the inside, and neither do I. I also do know that you can be thin and be unhealthy because I have a younger brother who is very thin but is more unhealthy than I am. I am actually considered healthy whenever I visit my doctor, but my brother tends to not be. The girl's mother and sister should just leave her alone because she is not even the slightest bit obese. They way they are treating her isn't something a loving family should do. They're making it seem like just because she's thicker than her sister, that she is unhealthy which is not true. I am half Korean and my father's side of the family moved over here from South Korea not too long ago, so I know that the culture is different. But not everyone is the same, some people are more sensitive than others. I am a pacifist and I believe there are more nice and better ways to handle things even if it's something as trivial as this. And I'm sure we both can agree that teenagers all around the world (even in Korea) kill themselves because of bullying. Which, is what her mother and sister are doing to her.
lovingpink345 eating unhealthy can get you cancer, cancerous cells divide tremendously fast in acid environment(in your stomach), which you get from eating pizzas and hamburgers like her(my mom died of cancer, I know a lot about it). all I'm trying to say is that both parties have faults and rights. you can't blame the mother, she wants the best for her child in her own way, she's probably so extreme because she is scared because her mother-in-law and sister-in-law both died of cancer. but I also agree that she should try another way of convincing her child. as for the bullying, let's leave it like that. I really think we are a weak generation, we exaggerate everything and see life as a mere joke, when others want to live so bad a few years more. there are cases where people do have problems. but some are just a huge call for attention.

And true, some people are really just calling for attention (I usually try to not pay any attention to them though). It's just because I don't like seeing people hurt which is why this bothered me so much. But nobody experiences life the same way and we have differnent experiences, so our opinions and how we take in situations differ. I'm pretty sure almost everyone can agree that our generation is messed up and too many people take too many things for granted. I hope my comments don't sound too harsh. I've had friends tell me that I sound like I'm mad whenever I type over the internet.
