I was guessing the date of this building was early 70's like about 1973 and went to the website on Slusher Hall and the history on it says construction started in fall 1971 and was completed in 1972. But it still has that late 60's look to it. Nice elevators and dorms. Thanks for doing the tour.
Slusher Hall and the famous seasonal Slusher "Beach". The windows of Slusher Hall dorm rooms had iron bars installed over them after a tragic Halloween Eve incident where a student managed to roll out of her eighth floor window, down the slanted inward opening lower window to the ground below.
That is a decently sized dorm room. That's about twice as big as the dorm room I was in at my college (the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota). The size of that room is probably just a little bit bigger than just one bedroom in the on-campus apartment I get to live in because I'm now a sophomore. The architecture definitely does scream 60's there. The look of those dorms is a lot different than anything I see on my campus.
The dorm I live in this year is in a complex of two towers at 10 floors. And all floors in my dorm are co-ed scattered, same goes with the rest of the dorm buildings at my university except for one building. So there could be a girls dorm right next to a guys dorm and it'll alternate around like that.
@@DieselDucy a few years ago someone was taking a nap on a window and it broke and they fell out and died. That's why there's metal bars on the windows now.
They already got rid of the old indicators for the elevator.
Yep

This building was first used in Fall 1974 because I was in the first group of students who lived there. They did not have a kitchen back then.
I bet it was nice when it first opened!
