I sometimes like to quickly get the wolf ring and go through the catacombs pretty much straight away, the fight is pretty fun without anything except maybe 4-9 level-ups. If you want the stats for astora's straight sword anyway, you could pick it up and make the catacombs less risky with it's divine modifier.
No, he jokingly said how Pinwheel never lasts long for him to hear the soundtrack, but he does when you go through as I described here and it's a pretty fun fight. He actually starts multiplying pretty badly at some point so the camera may be a bit of a problem
M. Pinwheel is actually almost always the first boss I kill. The masks benefit a low level character extremely well since you don't have any levels to give you hp, stam management, damage, equip load etc. Plus having the ability to kindle every bonfire to max when needed for the whole game is great.
Yeah there's some good rewards in it, I pretty much never wear the masks and barely kindle at all but I still enjoy the souls and access to tomb of the giants for homeward bone loot runs, in case there's something I want there. You can jump to pinwheel too, but the main reason I go catacombs early is because I really enjoy the level design and enjoy switching up the order.
You can run through valley of the drakes and darkroot and go stray demon first too, he's susceptible to bleed and the attacks are consistently avoidable so you need ZERO preparation to take him down in a reasonable amount of time, except for a bleed weapon like the morning star, uchi, reinforced club or bandit's knife that can all be gotten from the start.
Seems even more odd to me that they even bothered to add that animation, when they didn't change things like halberd's critical attacks that make 0 sense.

It likely has its roots in Oolacile, where the Stone Knights are from. Remember, the Forest Hunters haven't been here as long as Alvina, or Sif, or the ruins.
that would make sense, given that oolacile's sorceries are foreign to vinheim it's miracles would likely be foreign to the way of white. perhaps though, the ivory talisman bears similar roots to the ivory catalyst?
I don't think so, really. The ivory talisman is dropped by Rhea, who is from Thorolund, which is where the Way of White was founded. The names are of course similar, though. It probably refers to the colour or something.
Dark souls 1 had some very experimental spells. Some are thought to be useless in a lot of situations, but it was always fun to find obscure scenarios where they could come in handy. I’d say tranquil walk of peace comes from oolacile, the stone greatsword strong attack is the spell, stone knights/guardians come from oolacile, it’s more of a light gold which matches there sorceries, so yeah I’d say oolacile has some clerics, no idea why it’s found in the catacombs though
If I remember right (and it hasn't changed), I think it is like dried fingers, where you can get people to invade you. But rather than getting a bunch of red phantoms and such, you get a bunch of people that want to beat you up since you sent some tough enemies into THEIR game world. Basically, you troll bombed some "black phantom" enemies into a bunch of people's worlds, and they have to invade you and beat you to get rid of them. So spreading misery.
A Gravelord uses and Eye of Death while they are in an area that they can be invaded in. So your boss has to be alive, and you have to be human. The Eye will cause signs to appear in several other players worlds that they can use to invade the person that used the Eye. The players do not need to be human, or have their boss alive to be able to pick up a Gravelord's sign. If the invader kills the Gravelord, the invader gets and Eye of Death, and souls. If the Gravelord kills and invader, they get the Eye and souls. Multiple people can and likely will invade the Gravelord's world at the same time due to how the summoning is processed, so if you use an Eye get ready to get swarmed.
You plant a troll land mine in other people's game, and if they step on it, then some of the enemies in their game turn ultra tough. They can only get rid of it by invading the gravelord and killing him. There can be up to 3 people that come in as 'blue phantoms', and the gravelord can't have any phantoms of his own. if the gravelord wins, he gets more 'eyes of death', and that can be traded in for some pretty great spells.
Apostoli Koskinas Step 1: Go to the area in the catacombs where the titanite demon is. Bring the item "Eye of Death" with you and jump in the coffin. Wait a few moments and it will bring you to Nito's boss room. Interact with his coffin and join his covenant. You will receive the Gravelord Great sword; a curved greatsword that inflicts toxic damage, and the miracle Gravelord Sword Dance; An AoE miracle similar to Fire Storm, that summons dozens of sprectal swords from the ground surrounding the caster. Step 2: In your menu you may "use" the eye of death. Doing so will "infect" the worlds of other players in NG+ with suped up versions of existing enemies called "black spirits". If you played DS2 you may recall the red versions of enemies that appear throughout the game in NG+? Not the red spirit humanoids you meet everywhere, I mean the red versions of the enemies you meet such as the hollow soldiers in the forest of fallen giants. These people are considered "gravelorded". 3: Gravelorded players will have a black sign appear in their world. It appears as a white sign, outlined in murky black (or it may be black outlined in white, I am unsure, much like a zebra). They may touch this sign as they would any other summon sign, and by doing so they invade the world of the player who has gravelorded them. Defeating the gravelord will banish the black spirits from their world, and the world of any player the gravelord has infected. It is important to note that as a gravelord your black sign appears first wherever you use the eye of death, but will gradually move through the level of the worlds you infect. Why and how this happens I am unsure. 4: Upon using the eye of death, the gravelord opens his world to be invaded by those he has infected. They will appear as blue spirits and like any other invasion theyre job is to kill the host. The reward for the gravelords come in the form of additional eyes of death, which are offered to Nito's shrine to advance their rank in his covenant. Advancing in this covenant will upgrade the miracle they received when they joined. Its first upgrade is into the miracle Gravelord GREAT Sword Dance, which is to Gravelord Sword Dance what Chaos Fire Storm is to Fire Storm. The next upgrade to that spell increases its overall damage one final time. Notes on Gravelord invasions: - Once you activate an eye of death it lasts until you die. While active you will be unable to summon phantoms of youre own, and you can not activate one if you already have friendly phantoms in your world. - You can be invaded by up to 3 blues at a time, but you likely infect many more players than that. You will face a revolving door of opponents and likely many ganks. It is not so different than stepping into the forest, in that you'll be open to very frequent and persistent invasions. - You will be fighting in your world, so no halved estus, it is wise to be very familiar with the area you gravelord. You CAN be gravelorded even if you, yourself, are a gravelord. Tldr; You give everyone around you autism and they try to kill you to make it stop. Kill them to get paid.
I loved to gravelord the tomb of the giants and hide in the room with the titanite demon. Still to this day I have ptsd from tumble buffed stone greatswords
You can't "Lose" GLGSD, it's like the Dragon Torso stone for the PotD covenant - How strong it is, is tied to your level within the covenant, but you can use it even if you aren't a part of the covenant anymore.
Speaking of Dragon Torso Stone - Build/Character Development idea: Paladin Cecil goes down to Ash Lake, becomes a Dragon and goes and hangs out in Sen's Fortress with all the other snakes. Like Ricard in DaS3's Archdragon Peak!
lmao at 2:30 i was like "close the door, close the door" then i saw tranquil walk of peace and when u casted that i knew he was completely and absolutely fucked. what a great way to get off the dark hand ability
There's a lot of cheesy strats to get Eyes of Death as a gravelord. You can gravelord on the Hellkite Drake bridge (in the middle) and just trigger the breath attack whenever an invader spawns in. You can gravelord in Sen's Fortress (which is a lot of fun and quite a bit more fair).
it just occurred to me how similar gravelord servants are to spears of the church. i wonder if there's a lore connection there. it's kind of inverted, like gravelord servants being dark and associated with death and spears of the church being associated with serving the gods and miracles. but the mechanics are almost identical. instead of the gravelord sword dance, you get the ritual spear fragment. when you rank up, you get a general damage boost rather than a specific piece of gear, unlike every other covenant. and when you rank up one more time you get a better version of ritual spear fragment. moreover, the ritual spear fragment's effect is very similar to gravelord sword dance. instead of summoning a bunch of greatswords made of some kind of dark energy out of the ground, you summon a bunch of spears made of light out of the ground. it's so similar. and the gravelord sword covenant has really unique pvp mechanics with the whole infection thing and gravelord spirits. like it's unique in dark souls 1. and likewise the spears of the church is unique in dark souls 3 by making you a boss. the only thing i wish spears of the church got was a similar mechanic to how gravelords need to basically gamble their covenant item. you use these limited eyes to initiate the pvp interactions, but you get more eyes of death for succeeding. i think that's really cool, like if you fail there's a big roadblock, but if you go on a streak you just grow and grow in power and become a stronger and stronger gravelord servant. it's super cool and unique, i wish spears of the church had something like that, where you needed to spend a spear ornament to be summoned by argo, with rewards being the same, but having ornaments in your inventory gave you a buff. maybe not a super relevant buff, like a buff to FP would actually be nice since you really want to be using spells in these encounters. but it wouldn't be game breaking, like adding more defense and poise on top of what you already get per phantom. something like increasing FP or maybe giving you the pontiff's left eye effect, where you get HP for successive hits. and the amount of HP and the number of hits it takes to proc gets buffed with every 10 spear ornaments you possess, up to 100 or something. i would like this from both sides, like it'd be fun to be the spear but it would also be really fun to have a really challenging pvp boss fight. make it so that your first halflight battle for each playthrough can only match you with either the NPC, or a player with less than 20 spear ornaments in their inventory. so it's not required to do a super challenging fight just to beat the DLC. but then if you do the revival thing at the purging monument, it opens you up to summoning some super powerful spear of the church with 100 ornaments and all the covenant rewards. that would have been so dope. oh well. hopefully they do something like that in whatever they choose to make next. it seems like something from would do, they really like the wacky, asymmetric PVP scenarios. their attitude about pvp kind of reminds me of that game that got teased several years ago but i think never got released, where it's like a 4v1 competitive matchmaking game, with 4 humanoid players versus 1 giant monster that's balanced to be about as strong as 4 players. so if you queue up you either get to be the boss, or you get to have a team to fight the boss. it seemed like such a cool concept, it's not "unfair" it's just asymmetric. a lot like invasions, instead of just giving everyone exactly the same stats and a totally flat, featureless playing field to make sure nobody has an "unfair advantage," dark souls gives the host a bunch of unique advantages, and then gives the invader a bunch of unique advantages. and the thing i like most about it is that it's involuntary, so to compensate for that, the advantages given to the invader require a lot of patience and caution and planning and knowledge to take advantage of. there's more of a learning curve for the invader, which is fitting since it's involuntary. whereas my little hypothetical idea for spears of the church would be a purely voluntary thing, so wouldn't need as much of a learning curve. so in a sense it'd be more like a duel than an invasion, but it would have a lot of the fun elements of invasions and it wouldn't get old after like 20 minutes the way dueling does.
I do think they got the balance wrong but ruthlessly prepared invaders with an intention to hunt you down are exactly what I've always wanted from invasions, with the occasional nice guy invader that waits and gives you a nice fight or straight up just helps you out, of course. People get mad when they get shot off a ledge with a greatbow, but that is exactly the kind of use of level-design that sets the random-invasion experience apart for me. Catacombs and Sen's are great with all the jumps and trickery, my absolute favorites for co-op and invasions. Dks2's dlc's npc invaders got it right
Isn't divine pillars of light almost exactly the same as the gravelord sword miracles, and non-lightning to boot? I think there was actually way more good fun miracle stuff in ds3 that wasn't all just lightning. they even added a pure physical faith buff
This seems like a really cool build. For invading in the tomb of the giants it might be a good idea to use cast light. It lasts 5 minutes and you don't need to use the lantern or the maggot. There are also really cool gravelord videos from Martyrs Brigade. Gravelording would be awesome if the phantoms appeared in NG. The gravelord covenant is one of the best souls pvp mechanics of the whole Dark Souls franchise.
Saint_riot . So I understand if you kill nitto you cannot join the covenant. But if you have joined the covenant and get the sword and then kill nitto at that point can does the covenant just disappear? So if you want to do gravelord pvp nitto has to be alive even if you Initially joined before killing him? Thanks if you have the time to respond and thanks for the awesome vid!!!
Nice video. I love how you shut the door and cast Tranquil Walk of Peace. Must have been spooky for the host there. What music is playing in the background at the start? Is it from Demon Souls? It sounds familiar but I can't quite pick it.
Hey Saint, you talking about Aldritch being a Gravelord makes sense. My question is this: If it is canon that the chosen undead beats all the bosses, how is it that Orstein and Smough, and Gwynodlin are living in Lothric leading up to the timeline of DS3? As far as I know, only humans have the power to cheat death
Easy. It is *not* canon that the Chosen Undead beats all the bosses. AFAIK the only boss kills that can be confirmed as canon are the Bell Gargoyles, Quelaag, Iron Golem, Smough, Seath, BoC, Sif, Four Kings, Nito, Gwyn, Sanctuary Guardian, Artorias, and Manus.
Have any would-be Gravelords tried cursing the Tomb of Giants while wearing the fog ring?Is it worth it to scare people? I've wanted to try this but I can't find anyone playing the original PC release.
I decided to try TWoP after your last clip feat. Cecil, and it’s become an absolute gem on my buff builds; for which you can imagine, a real challenge is finding the room to buff. I twop him.
Nito is a Mensis scholar in ever search of eyes. Think about it, Nito uses a curved GS and the burial blade is a curved GS that turns into a scythe, which is a symbol of death. The one Reborn is a boss that's comprised of zombie guys AKA, undead. Micolash? More like Nitolash. He even has respawning skeletons. I'm pulling lore out of my ass, BUT IT STILL FITS!
Thank you for that beginning four minutes, your absolutely right broodah. Anything goes in invasions. It’s perfectly fine for a host to summon multiple phantoms with different variations of builds, that’s a-ok but an invader that actually has a set up to defend himself and take out those phantoms, naw fuck dat shit, that’s no fair... fucking hate these honour kids, those are the kids that are usually the white knight cucks of the series. As well I totally understand fighting with your friends and not putting that ridiculous shit on to fight them...
so i was messing around with force to deal with gangkers and the range of it is smaller than WOG so it's not as good but it can be used for backstab chaines and is great on wake up the extra castes also help with gangkers so It can work but might have to get them to come a bit closer honestly I found having the talismen out period can scare people. keep up the great work saint :)
The honor pamphlet is really just in regards of do you want to play easymode, yes or no? Most people don't enjoy players who do want to play easymode, as it's boring.
They drop their creative aspect for spells for some reason. In Demon's Souls you had a miracle that could ban an invader for the hell of it, if it landed. I dunno how good or bad that was for MUH BALANCE REEEEEEEEEEEEE but it sure sounds like a unique and fun thing to have around. For whatever reason though, they actually downgraded spells in that regard. Kind of a shame when you look back on it but oh well.
I feel like TWoP would have been a cool addition in DS3 if they brought back the DS2 version. Give everyone a fat roll including the caster (I would also make it affect allies personally so gankers can’t abuse it too much, but of course Fromsoft isn’t really into spells that can hurt allies since Lifedrain Patch). Mobility is still there but it is nerfed during the cast duration. It’d be great for heavy poise builds with long weapons like UGS, and it would give an option for heavy weapon users to remove some of the insane mobility options that trivialize ultras. Also it could flesh out the lacking roster of dark miracles!
Great vid my man. Also, I don’t know if you are aware of it or not, but the higher your humanity, the better your defense. I noticed you didn’t have 99 in most of your fights. You basically get +1 def per soft humanity. And it caps at 99 not 10 like for chaos. Just a tip incase you didn’t know.
Actually, the easiest method for Gravelording, provided you have no qualms about being an total asshole, it to setup on the Wyvern bridge, off on one of the little cubbyholes. Invaders only spawn in one place, middle of the bridge, and as soon as they do, just toggle the Wyvern to breath fire = instant charcoal invader. I mean it's really really dickish, but it's hella effective.
You definitely don't lose Greatsword dance for a covenant change, I've got it on one of my darkwraithes. On PC at least, I assume it would be the same on ps4
Nito definitely doesn't have anything to do with humans becoming undead. the whole "curse of the undead" is not actually a curse at all, it's just a byproduct of the age of fire weakening. All of the Gods and godlike beings in the world draw their power from fire/light-based souls, but humanity's ancestors drew their power from a sole Dark Soul, so their true power and true nature reveals itself as dark encroaches. The Darksign is very likely a holdover from Gwyn literally sealing away the power of humanity's Darkness with fire, like on the Ringed Knights' armor. My only question is how Nito's Lord Soul is of Light and not another Dark Soul, but also it's kind of interesting to think that Death itself is an aspect of Light. After all, life and death only came into being because of fire.
I got super twinked in Anor Londo. I made my weapons maxed on my lv50 to anti-twink my invaders and do my own twinking. I'm finishing up a lv15 now with maxed shit :D
I don't think TWoP was in DS2, just the icon for it. I could be wrong, been awhile since I played faith in it. Can we talk real quick about the crazy prejudice against faith casters in nearly every DS game though? Like, haha filthy cleric memes, but seriously its out of hand. Ds1: Offensive sorcerers vastly outnumber offensive miracles and they can be bought enmasse throughout the game. Of the damaging miracles in the game only... What, 2 or 3 can be acquired more than once? The most powerful of them requires rank 3 in a covenant AND the soul of the final boss which DEMANDS you be in NG+ to get it, and you can only get it once. It requires an absurd amount of faith and it has a previous handful of casts. Meanwhile crystal soul spear can be bought from big hat every time. With the only limit being your play through. That is to say nothing of *D A R K B E A D*. Ds2: Literally more of the same, but at least now attunement affects how many casts of a spell you get, so even though you can still only get Sunlight Spear once per character, you can stock up on great lightning spears kinda regularly its not so bad, though if you want the dragon chime (the best casting tool for lightning based miracles) without murder you need to run the mad gauntlet that is the darklurker content... BUT SINCE YOU CAN JUST FARM FREJA FOR CSS THERES LITERALLY NOTHING STOPPING MAGES FROM ROFL STOMPING FAITH CASTERS LMAO STUPID CLERICS HAHAHAHAHAHA ITS NOT LIKE THIS SHIT KILLS DRAGONS OR ANYTHING LMAO AND SINCE GMB IS GARBO U CANT EVEN COUNTER LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Ds3: The mana system is a call back to Damon's Souls and it was very much needed for faith casters, so like, this might have just been the game where you could try to emulate gwyn's Zeus-ian lightning chucking but *LOL EKS DEEEEE M I R A C L E BUILDS MORE LIKE EBIN FAILLLLLLLLLLE LOL WHITE CORONO OP SO TOUGH IT DID 3 HP DAMAJ 4 800FP SO GUD ROFL LEIK ALL THE DAMAJ LEL TOP KEK FUNNY MAYYYYYMAYYYYS* I honestly hate playing these games as a faith character at this point. Every time I do I get excited and think "awww yeah, gonna be lightning chucking bad ass!" then I'm reminded miracles by and large are bad, have always been by and large bad, and will always seemingly be by and large bad. _also why did they remove that lightning spear barrage spell you got in the ellyum loyce in ds2 from DS3 when the soul of cinder clearly uses that shit constantly? Wtf Fromsoft! Like, you put every shitty fan reference in that game EXCEPT the coolest miracle ever? Swallow my ass juice Miyazaki._
You make some amazing videos, I just wish you didn't spend so much time trying to defend yourself on your tactics. Just show us some gameplay, fuck the complainers :P
“If the game didn’t want you to play this way it wouldn’t let you” Why it’s completely okay to save and quit out of Demons Souls. Or any souls game if you’re willing to deal with the coop consequences. From doesn’t care about invaders losing their precious time and if you don’t like it don’t play the game. The feature is there for people who want to play the game without thinking about meta PvP builds or be on standby to quickly switch their gear out.
He _almost_ made the point of twinking being acceptable as a counter to ganking, which I would've agreed with. No such luck, though. Clearly the devs are infallible, so anything that's in the game is okay.
Damn pinwheel’s ost sounds pretty good, you never get to hear it considering he dies 3 seconds after you enter the boss fog.
I sometimes like to quickly get the wolf ring and go through the catacombs pretty much straight away, the fight is pretty fun without anything except maybe 4-9 level-ups. Really odd that the special animation for attacks when they're lying in the coffin does 1/5 the damage of a normal attack.
Hastam well, inside the coffin you can't simply impale your weapon through.
Hastam
Im curious if the hornet ring affects the coffin stab
Seems even more odd to me that they even bothered to add that animation, when they didn't change things like halberd's critical attacks that make 0 sense.
Who would win?
The offspring of the primordial soul of pure darkness that has the capabilities to singlehandedly murder the entire godly pantheon
Or...
*1 boney boi*
The primordial soul of pure darkness cannot be defeated by man because of the darkness that lies within his heart.
But boney bois don't have hearts.
Vamos is a Gyrm in my Headcanon. Those 'tentacles' are chains.
Hes not a gyrm, he's focused. Stop trying to spoil it.

I will always love your lore invasions, it just adds another layer of fun and intrest to invading for me. I've been wanting to do a princesses gaurd invader, just I have no idea how to go about it yet, I still need to look into it more.

Maybe TWoP is a forest hunter miracle. The stone giants in the forest do use it.

Nito is absolutely jacked underneath that cloak, 315 for 15 easy mode, no leg day though..ever. Brilliant vid Saint tempted to try it out.
Of course he's jacked! He has the Mask of the Father!
Tranquil walk of peace might be from oolacile.
holy shit the fight at the bottom of the catacombs is literally the best ds1 clip ive ever seen
Hey Saint I’m really digging your DSR videos man, also like the role playing. Keep up the great work bud!
I still haven’t a clue how gravelords work

Its first upgrade is into the miracle Gravelord GREAT Sword Dance, which is to Gravelord Sword Dance what Chaos Fire Storm is to Fire Storm. The next upgrade to that spell increases its overall damage one final time.
Notes on Gravelord invasions:
- Once you activate an eye of death it lasts until you die.
It just works
Uninterrupted coop is the intended gameplay experience, pvp is a glitch
Schmeat Boy all my cheats are legit
Fury255 lol
@Fury255 It's a joke. Take a chill pill or five.
your love for this game is so inspiring
Hell yeah long vid
Man I forgot all about pinwheels theme for the last however many years. Love it.
Goddamit man, I'm only just now copying your Knight Scholar build..
And I'm struggling to carry the armor at END22. What am I missing?
lmao at 2:30 i was like "close the door, close the door" then i saw tranquil walk of peace and when u casted that i knew he was completely and absolutely fucked. what a great way to get off the dark hand ability
hehe, he said doodie
Gravelording in the depths will all ways be the best
21:35 Daamn! That parry.
Wait so since I have a fire Warpick +2, does that mean I'm at +12 in weapon upgrade path?
Fat Fuck fire is+5 so +7 would be +9
Fat Fuck
Pickaxe or bust
saint_riot oh thank god
Fat Fuck No, you're at +7 in weapon matchmaking terms.
Raw +5 should be equivalent to a +10 Normal in weappn matchmaking terms, that's the reason it's such a bad upgrade path.
Love it when u talk about dnd stuff on these vids, haha. Recently got into dnd, dming for about a year. Love your vids
That parry at 21:40 was so nice
Father saint blesses us with another golden video
it just occurred to me how similar gravelord servants are to spears of the church. i wonder if there's a lore connection there. it's kind of inverted, like gravelord servants being dark and associated with death and spears of the church being associated with serving the gods and miracles. but the mechanics are almost identical. instead of the gravelord sword dance, you get the ritual spear fragment. when you rank up, you get a general damage boost rather than a specific piece of gear, unlike every other covenant. and when you rank up one more time you get a better version of ritual spear fragment. moreover, the ritual spear fragment's effect is very similar to gravelord sword dance. instead of summoning a bunch of greatswords made of some kind of dark energy out of the ground, you summon a bunch of spears made of light out of the ground. it's so similar. and the gravelord sword covenant has really unique pvp mechanics with the whole infection thing and gravelord spirits. like it's unique in dark souls 1. and likewise the spears of the church is unique in dark souls 3 by making you a boss. the only thing i wish spears of the church got was a similar mechanic to how gravelords need to basically gamble their covenant item. you use these limited eyes to initiate the pvp interactions, but you get more eyes of death for succeeding. i think that's really cool, like if you fail there's a big roadblock, but if you go on a streak you just grow and grow in power and become a stronger and stronger gravelord servant. it's super cool and unique, i wish spears of the church had something like that, where you needed to spend a spear ornament to be summoned by argo, with rewards being the same, but having ornaments in your inventory gave you a buff. maybe not a super relevant buff, like a buff to FP would actually be nice since you really want to be using spells in these encounters. but it wouldn't be game breaking, like adding more defense and poise on top of what you already get per phantom. something like increasing FP or maybe giving you the pontiff's left eye effect, where you get HP for successive hits. and the amount of HP and the number of hits it takes to proc gets buffed with every 10 spear ornaments you possess, up to 100 or something. i would like this from both sides, like it'd be fun to be the spear but it would also be really fun to have a really challenging pvp boss fight. make it so that your first halflight battle for each playthrough can only match you with either the NPC, or a player with less than 20 spear ornaments in their inventory. so it's not required to do a super challenging fight just to beat the DLC. but then if you do the revival thing at the purging monument, it opens you up to summoning some super powerful spear of the church with 100 ornaments and all the covenant rewards. that would have been so dope. oh well. hopefully they do something like that in whatever they choose to make next. it seems like something from would do, they really like the wacky, asymmetric PVP scenarios. their attitude about pvp kind of reminds me of that game that got teased several years ago but i think never got released, where it's like a 4v1 competitive matchmaking game, with 4 humanoid players versus 1 giant monster that's balanced to be about as strong as 4 players. so if you queue up you either get to be the boss, or you get to have a team to fight the boss. it seemed like such a cool concept, it's not "unfair" it's just asymmetric. a lot like invasions, instead of just giving everyone exactly the same stats and a totally flat, featureless playing field to make sure nobody has an "unfair advantage," dark souls gives the host a bunch of unique advantages, and then gives the invader a bunch of unique advantages. and the thing i like most about it is that it's involuntary, so to compensate for that, the advantages given to the invader require a lot of patience and caution and planning and knowledge to take advantage of. there's more of a learning curve for the invader, which is fitting since it's involuntary. whereas my little hypothetical idea for spears of the church would be a purely voluntary thing, so wouldn't need as much of a learning curve. so in a sense it'd be more like a duel than an invasion, but it would have a lot of the fun elements of invasions and it wouldn't get old after like 20 minutes the way dueling does.
Dks2's dlc's npc invaders got it right
TWoP is another spell that can be abused but when used for fun is super cool. Seeing that host sprint away as soon as you cast it was glorious!
Never mind. It just clicked. It's Pinwheels Boss Theme.
Could you do another dnd like video?
Hey Saint, you talking about Aldritch being a Gravelord makes sense. My question is this: If it is canon that the chosen undead beats all the bosses, how is it that Orstein and Smough, and Gwynodlin are living in Lothric leading up to the timeline of DS3? As far as I know, only humans have the power to cheat death
Stahlkin Ornstein in Anor Londo was Gwyndolyn’s illusion. Gwyndolins death also isn’t canon, at least in the DS3 timeline. Smough is Dead. Rip
Gravelord mobs will also almost always draw pull, so you can't aggro them without aggroing something else.
I twop him.
Now I think I'm gonna make a catacombs invasion build. This looks really fun
That looks dope. I still love that fashion you have.
what does twop do? P.S i’m a large ds 1 noob. i got into ds 3 first and i just got into ds 2 so yeah idk anything about ds 1
They took Gravelord Sword Dance and changed it into vertical beams of light with free backstabs (for your opponent).
As well I totally understand fighting with your friends and not putting that ridiculous shit on to fight them...
so i was messing around with force to deal with gangkers and the range of it is smaller than WOG so it's not as good but it can be used for backstab chaines and is great on wake up
the extra castes also help with gangkers so It can work but might have to get them to come a bit closer
honestly I found having the talismen out period can scare people.
keep up the great work saint :)
What's our music, lads? I don't recognize it.
The King pinwheel theme
That explains it. Thanks.
The King Its actually pretty cool If you hear it longer than 15 seconds.
yeah i also liked walk of peace but i think its way more useful as group counter. its too hard to get behind someone while its active
paladin Cecil Harvey?
Sweet, been looking forward to this one!
But what about the Dungeon Master voice ?
The honor pamphlet is really just in regards of do you want to play easymode, yes or no? Most people don't enjoy players who do want to play easymode, as it's boring.
@Fury255 this is literally just "waaahhh" the comment
23:35 someone needs to test gesture dodging dark bead ASAP
You know I like some noice lore too
Btw, the Mace does 51 poise damage two handed.
When you gank a lone invader then when you and your 30 buddies win you bow for no reason.
Love your vids :)
local 'tuber promotes twinking, encourages hosts to gank as often as possible
it seems Saint is Artorias and the twinks/over-leveled phantoms are the abyss.
Has saint met his match?
Tomb of the giants with too much verticality?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Blacksmith PvP lore build when?
All these smiths want their embers back.
Fuck I had a counterargument in mind for the intended gameplay thing and I lost it, dammit...
I got super twinked in Anor Londo. I made my weapons maxed on my lv50 to anti-twink my invaders and do my own twinking. I'm finishing up a lv15 now with maxed shit :D
Verti-misery.
Best way to twink with Gravelord Sword and use TwoP.
gravelording is awesome!!
0 Gravelord Sword Dance
10 Miracle: Gravelord Greatsword Dance 10% damage bonus to both Gravelord sword miracles.
30 20% damage bonus to both Gravelord sword miracles.
80 30% damage bonus to both Gravelord sword miracles
Nito!
23:35 calculated as fuck
I wish covenants in DSIII were this cool. The most interesting one is The Spears of The Church, but that’s not even the base game!
VERTICALITY
Good gravelord tutorial, but when are we getting those advanced tips?
Long vid yessss
Wow someone else who says berenike the way its meant to be spoken? I bet you say kastus too
How dare you even so much as THINK about invading in this game without out a Hyper-Optimized META Cancer build! I am dissappointed in you.
BUT SINCE YOU CAN JUST FARM FREJA FOR CSS THERES LITERALLY NOTHING STOPPING MAGES FROM ROFL STOMPING FAITH CASTERS LMAO STUPID CLERICS HAHAHAHAHAHA ITS NOT LIKE THIS SHIT KILLS DRAGONS OR ANYTHING LMAO AND SINCE GMB IS GARBO U CANT EVEN COUNTER LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Ds3: The mana system is a call back to Damon's Souls and it was very much needed for faith casters, so like, this might have just been the game where you could try to emulate gwyn's Zeus-ian lightning chucking but *LOL EKS DEEEEE M I R A C L E BUILDS MORE LIKE EBIN FAILLLLLLLLLLE LOL WHITE CORONO OP SO TOUGH IT DID 3 HP DAMAJ 4 800FP SO GUD ROFL LEIK ALL THE DAMAJ LEL TOP KEK FUNNY MAYYYYYMAYYYYS*
I honestly hate playing these games as a faith character at this point.
The music choice in this video was ❤
Promised Walk of Peace in ds2 also affected the caster, and was never used by anyone
You make some amazing videos, I just wish you didn't spend so much time trying to defend yourself on your tactics. Just show us some gameplay, fuck the complainers :P
> Zweihander
> Giant Chestpiece
> Not Giant Dad
“If the game didn’t want you to play this way it wouldn’t let you”
Why it’s completely okay to save and quit out of Demons Souls. Or any souls game if you’re willing to deal with the coop consequences. From doesn’t care about invaders losing their precious time and if you don’t like it don’t play the game. The feature is there for people who want to play the game without thinking about meta PvP builds or be on standby to quickly switch their gear out.
local man wastes first four minutes of video attempting to defend twinking
He _almost_ made the point of twinking being acceptable as a counter to ganking, which I would've agreed with. No such luck, though. Clearly the devs are infallible, so anything that's in the game is okay.
Stop complaining and git gud.
