I find it a little funny that I really can’t live without music and music goes everywhere with me through my whole life, but making any comments about it is probably the most difficult thing for me ever. A music lover who don’t know how to talk about music. What a joke, isn’t it? I listen to music and if I like it… I feel so much that I get so overwhelmed I can’t really name that mess in my head at all. Is it enough to say you created such mess in my head? I wish I had any professional knowledge about creating music so I could at least give a decent commentary from such point of view. But no. It is just lost me and my messy feelings. You need to deal with it, Dan. The scenery of the video is really beautiful - so atmospheric. There is always something romantic and fairytale-like in the winter landscape, even if the story behind it is actually sad/very melancholic and maybe there won’t be any happy ever after. The colors spectrum is narrower than in case of shots taken during warm months, but actually together with a little dimmed lights, it is such a nice touch in the context of this song as a whole art-creation. Brings that very specific flavour I don’t even know how to name. And that lonely little house near the sea? Details are put together the right way to create a convincing illusion of the sad, snowy universe in which someone is suffering surrounded by beautiful scenery but without anyone there who could lend an arm to cry on it. The scenery that can be a paradise when there is “together” part, but without it, it is beautiful but empty and a little scary. Does it even make any sense? But the most interesting part of your music, Dan, is the fact that even though I am an illustrator, a very visual person who usually wants videos and pay close attention to them as a part of the whole thing, I don’t even need any visuals going with your music… I am serious. I had to play this video several times to actually watch it because I naturally kept closing my eyes to focus on music, to feel it fully and believe me, it created landscapes behind my eyelids on its own. Your music is very… demanding. But in a good way. It makes me feel a certain way and I don’t want to listen to it, when I am doing something else. I want lie down, close my eyes and REALLY listen to it to fully appreciate the beauty it brings with every sound. Don’t even make me start about your voice because I would sound like such a hopeless fangirl. But the truth is that the color of your voice is beautiful. It has something special in my opinion.
