This 42:12 part where Simple just kicks back takes in the moment was really something to experience. I like to think that schmooving through "vanilla" Mario 64 then seeing the credits roll really hit differently for Simple. Kinda like that soothing feeling when you replay a childhood game or meet an old friend. As a long time viewer, it was nice seeing him show regular speedrunning skills in so long too.

Damn this hack had a strong finale, Trebel in Paradise was a very aesthetically pleasing vibe (Plus it was also just a super well-made traditional hack), and the Quiz hack was actually genuinely pretty fun I'm glad there was a SiIvaGunner styled hack submitted for this contest because that's a legitimately really cool idea for a music-themed submission can't wait for people from this video to decide to check out SiIvaGunner because of the cool music in the hack, only to run into some of the most confusing running jokes ever

The first hack had a bunch of Mario Party DS minigames as the settings. I believe the hack is a reference to Toadette's Music Room, since you're small inside a music room, collecting music notes, and there are minigames as the star areas.
Also it is a reference to Toadette’s Music room. The stage has the drums followed by two red platforms and then a piano, the same structure as the map.
I have that credit song at 42:00 on my playlist, no wonder it felt familliar lmao. That "Mario Gets Erased From Existence" event on Siivagunner was fun

That "Audio" hack makes me yearn for another Creepypasta hack competition. With the recent developments to the hacking scene, I feel like that category has some serious potential it didn't have a couple years ago.

And so the music competition and our long and winding road with it comes to an end. Seeing such a massive amount of hacks make it in this time was a treat, I really loved this one. So many awesome ideas, new faces to the hacking scene, great use of theming and jokes from the creators, editors and even Simple. Yes, I admit, Simple made one of those joke things. I can't believe it either. A shame the Perry hack didn't work, but it sounds like one of the creators plans to do more in the future, hopefully releases without weird SM64 shit like that one had. I'm glad we ended with just a little bit of Simple vibing as Viva la Vida in the style of the credits theme took us out, thanks for leaving some of it in, representatives of the Nolan-Matt-Conglomerate.

So real quick I just want to express how funny I find simpleflips. He has the “dumb humor” I really like. For example, “oh shit, welcome to class. Today we’re learning ‘GG: Goconut Gun’” is the dumbest shit but it has my sides in orbit. Keep it up, funny man.
The only trivial I knew was the story behind Gusty Garden Galaxy which is quite interesting: Mahito Yokota had the task of composing for Super Mario Galaxy and because the prior games soundtracks were composed by the legend Koji Kondo himself he had a lot of pressure on his shoulders. So he started composing and showed his work to Koji Kondo who wasn't pleased with any of it. Yokota started to become depressed, when Koji Kondo told him that he is viewing Mario as a cute character when he instead should think of Mario as a cool character. With that in mind, Yokota started to compose a new theme, which turned out to be Gusty Garden Galaxy, one of the best Mario tracks in history that even Kondo himself couldn't have done better.

Last hack got me feeling some type of way
The only trivial I knew was the story behind Gusty Garden Galaxy which is quite interesting: Mahito Yokota had the task of composing for Super Mario Galaxy and because the prior games soundtracks were composed by the legend Koji Kondo himself he had a lot of pressure on his shoulders. So he started composing and showed his work to Koji Kondo who wasn't pleased with any of it. Yokota started to become depressed, when Koji Kondo told him that he is viewing Mario as a cute character when he instead should think of Mario as a cool character. With that in mind, Yokota started to compose a new theme, which turned out to be Gusty Garden Galaxy, one of the best Mario tracks in history that even Kondo himself couldn't have done better.
