      Well, I am not sure. But here is a guess anyway, I know that Linus Media Group has a giant ass green screen. I think that Linus shot the clip of him standing and waiting with the screen and the clip of someone working with the Corsair Clone was shot separately. Later, the Corsair Clone clip was sped up and the clip of Linus standing was pasted on to it.
      Or, I could be totally wrong and Linus is actually standing like that in real time. .

      I see this way as superior to say Newegg shuffle and definitely better than the online free for all apocalypse we're in now. I mainly see it this way because you can't call a microcenter directly (all calls are routed to a customer service center somewhere in ohio i think) and they don't actually tell you the exact day they have shipments and it's a physical store in your local city VS an online store available to all (again, so far the cards are only available in person)

    Hi, one of the managers for the Corsair One here. Slight performance degradation is in line with what we saw tested against a reference system with, yes, a full fat 240mm radiator with two 120mm fans at a locked 1600RPM. For reference, C1 idles at 0-600RPM on the single system fan. We tune the fan speed to offer the best combination of acoustics and performance. Ryzen 3000 and 5000 are hypersensitive to their cooling solutions in how they turbo; if you run the fan full tilt like a Peterbilt all the time, you'll see the performance creep up. It's a very delicate balancing act and we erred on sacrificing a little perf for massive acoustic benefit.
    ALL THAT SAID. iCUE *should* let you manually increase the minimum fan speed to get some of that performance back if you're willing to sacrifice some noise to get there. Note that you can never run the fan *slower* than the default fan curve, but you can run it *faster.* If anyone is seeing odd fan control issues in iCUE on Corsair One, please reach out to our customer service.

    • @dreammachine86
      @dreammachine86 2 роки тому

      I was actually very impressed by how small the performance difference was considering the massive difference in size. I think Linus was a bit overly critical, and should consider that the One is targeted to users that want something compact, portable if necessary and quiet. I think it's an incredibly cool little PC and the dual-radiator/single fan cooling system seems quite clever. I'm sure any other SFF builds of the same size would be hard pressed to get better thermals and low noise, unless they had a custom loop which is a completely different animal and would probably still not be able to compete on quietness.

      I would like to see them water cool their entire warehouse using one custom bespoke badass loop.
      That's 10 parts guaranteed between designing the loop, sourcing the material, manufacturing parts with that beautiful new CNC machine, installing parts of it, fixing everything that goes wrong, etc. That's mint content right there, like the time they did that in that old house.
      My larger criticism regards the format of the scripts, they seem written for dummies. You'd think that after 10 years of LTT, or even just watching for 4 years, there wouldn't be many dummies anymore.

    Honestly, I'm more perplexed about the RAM than the cooling. I've shopped of late for several friends building or upgrading PCs and it's been just as cheap to buy cl16 3600 as cl18 3200. I don't know why they would put such junk RAM in their ridiculously expensive little PC. There's no thermal consequences of using better parts. Tiny savings on their end in bulk?

    For the thermostas: DIY one, seriusly. You need an arduino, a temperature sensor, a resistor and a relay/transistor/mosfet. The arduino takes power from the cables. To send a command to the heater the arduino adds the resistor as a load to the power wire with the relay/transistor/mosfet. Now you can use a brainbox to pick up that change in current.
    If you use a transistor/mosfet you can even set up patterns for different messages/data.
