Randy’s donuts look buttery and chewy. I don’t know why you would soak it in milk and make it soggy? Anyway, I would love to have Randy’s one day, especially the glazed and apple fritter.
cow milk here in asia isnt like the milk in america. ours varies from tasting sweet to a little savoury like cream. in america, cow milk tastes like cold water lol. basically, it adds flavour to the dessert.

Good donuts and cakes have pockets of air which adds to the soft texture. I would soak a stale donut or low quality donut but I don’t see how making a light fluffy airy dessert into a wet mush adds to the taste experience.
@@Jono01 that i agree with you. but tbh most trends dont have a definitive beginning as to how it started. i think it might be a cultural aspect. ive noticed a lot of korean mukbang youtubers always having cream in their desserts and even dishes, they probably just like their food moist so it makes a bit of sense why milk in bread is popular rn. though yeah, rather unappealing when it gets too soggy but hey its personal preference 🤷🏽♀️ (and personal preferences are influenced by culture, though im not saying ur disrespecting it)
The milk soaked donuts don't sound too bad but then you realize if you leave them in too long they get soggy. I'd say only dip them in milk and not soak them in milk.
