It’s not “panting “ if your are simply trying to take in as much mountain air as possible. Thank you again sir. You keep our spirit of adventure up when we are stuck behind these locked gates of work.
@12:55 perfect lighting when you are standing by the lake and I cannot thank you enough for not having crappy music ruining the beautiful footage you have
When you get to Maine, remember, the logging trucks ALWAYS have the "right of way" on the logging roads. If you are on a single track with a truck coming at you, pull off even if there isn't space. Or, you'll have to race him in reverse so he doesn't go up and over you.
This episode reminds me why I dislike the east or anyplace east of the continental divide. So glad I’m out west. Dad knew what he was doing long ago moving us out from western New York. I hate the mosquitos and humidity. I would think you are pondering how to make your way west again! Great photography and especially editing. You have a gift. Thanks!
Great to see you passing over Moose River. It has become an annual pilgrimage for my circle of friends, specifically to Holeb Falls, where there are two free log cabins and the best fly fishing you have ever experienced (if you want native brookies). Moose River is neat in that it creates a loop canoe trip lasting around five days yet bringing you back to the start in Jackman. Holeb itself is an off-grid town around a lake, which is an experience in and of itself. Hello Jack Bell, if you're out there (resident of Holeb).
I have been watching all your North East New York, Vermont, NH and Maine vids and this one going North Into the Maine woods is the best in my opinion . Great adventures brother and happy to come along with ya. Safe fun travels ahead.
Reminds me of blackflies, noseeums and mosquitoes I experienced in New Hampshire---high season seems to be June/July. August is much better! One reason I like the western desert environment!
Vermont and New Hampshire appear very similar, lots of water, vegetation and annoying bugs... Shame there were so many trails closed in Maine, it’s like the locals don’t want you traveling freely... Stay safe out there.
Thank you for your beautiful videos my wife and I look forward to them every week, I started watching your channel about 7 months ago so I went back to the Tillamook episode and it made me cry 😢 Thank you again for everything my friend
Wow, just beautiful! I'm too old to do the things you do but your videos are the next best thing being there my self. As someone else mentioned thanks for not ruining the beauty with some lousy music. Thanks Chris.
You really just made me miss home ... I grew up in New Hampshire and used to camp in Saco Maine every year with friends... I live in hot boring South Carolina now... great video thanks...
just got home from the Northwest Overland Rally. Had more than a few conversations about you and your travels with people that came to look at my Ursa Minor. wished you could have been there.
Another great video , was hoping to see a sunset while you were standing near the lake . Your editing and video quality is really well done , outstanding . That bridge , wow , you aced that one . Stay safe out there , can't wait to see your next adventure . Thanks for taking me along for the ride , I really enjoyed it .
the New England wilds are just off the hook gorgeous. I have always loved Vermont and northern NYS. Things to remember... black fly season in spring. pure evil and affects all northern states above a certain latitude, and up into Canada. not sure how long it lasts before it goes back to just normal mosquitos and gnats each year.
Hi Chris, Great video as always ! Your recommendations are also very welcome - I will test Gaia GPS during an upcoming Unimog trip through the wilderness towards the Arctic Ocean in the Murmansk area and your "Mosquito-Tips" might be helpful as well. Again thank you for all the good work !
Beautiful territory!great video!love the moose family.wasnt sure about the bridge but you aced it.kept waiting for bigfoot to step out in a photo shot!had to go eat out with the family, couldn't wait to see where you were taking us this time.loved it,thank you
Loved that you got footage of the Katahdin at the end. I just recently purchased an old town katahdin fiberglass canoe which was made in 1991. Safe travels!!
Way late on this video but I enjoy your content and I'm current, so I jumped back a bit... anyway, I love those types of griddles and recommend trying the flat side as it will sear the entire piece of meat and is easier to clean. I always want to use the grill side but find it does not do the same job. My two cents Haha. Can't wait for this weeks video!
If you're going to cook on cast iron, you should get a chainmail scrubber. They're less than $10 on amazon, and they'll prevent you from needing to use soap or anything else to clean the griddle with. Just scrub it down with that and water, and use some coarse salt if something really wants to stick. Easy!
The largest mosquitoes and ticks I have ever seen have been in Couderay Wisconsin . they are even worse than Texas Mosquitoes. I've never been in Vermont so I cant compare. Nice job on the videotography. Thank you for your time.
I look forward to each weekly episode. Continue your travels in safety, sir and thank you for bringing us along for the ride. Just an idea but a trip to the Canadian border would be cool. Like a point the camera at the ground and say "there's Canada" trip to the border. Maybe a trip to where I-95 ends would be some cool footage. Just an idea. Wherever you go is always cool. Take care
Garfield Falls and Moose Head Lake I have actually been to! Are you going to grab the dirt road north through the town of Kokadjo and head to Baxter State Park I wonder? It is always a thrill to see moose in person but have never had the chance to see calves what an awesome experience you had.
Great video content. Thank you for taking me along with you. Your videos are getting better all the time and I look forward to your Friday releases. I have been to Maine and most of the world. I am in Northern California in the Gold Country off H49 in Plymouth, CA with a real clean 1984 Jeep CJ7 that I baby.
Love Littleton, NH. Nice moose footage. We've been to Maine and seen signs for moose, but had to go to New Hampshire to actually see moose. Safe Travels and God Bless Brother!
You drove an hour south of where I live in Quebec Canada. This video is so well edited. It reflects how wilderness and the small towns are in northern NH and Maine. Awesome.
Shane Booth ... that bridge deck has been abused by truckloads of heavy timber many years ago. May be 25 years from now will they fix the deck, when more timber will be available. Chris got lucky on this crossing. 😜
Your video last week prompted me to purchase a Thermacell on Amazon. I'll be testing it out this week. As always, great videos, can't wait to try some overlanding my Jeep.
Vermont mosquitos are next level. Their seems to be no repellent, temperature, or wind that will keep them at bay (short of the 8 months of the year that average below freezing temps).
beside the never use winch and how dangerous it can be for mounting it on a plastic bull bar, i love how you put your roof top tent easy access to your car
If you get a change to pick up a Thermacell then do it! I have 2 of them and I would not be without one in the Maine woods during the spring and early summer.
from NH ,to bad just found your channel a few weeks ago ...ever back send me a message....Maine has the trains in the woods ,google them ,you will want to come back
Great videos !suggestion for ankle. Do exercise now and fhen with them. At gym or home. Best ones are the same you do for calves...that will strengthen ankles and good also for walking. You seldom will get ankle bending problems..and will feel a sure step on irregular trails etc
You probably wont have a signal, and will be out of Maine by the time you see this. If you have a chance, get up to Baxter state park (far north) and the penobscot outdoor ctr. And also Flagstaff lake (think it's in the southwest part if the state).. at flag staff, there is a road to the left that takes you to the dam. 8 miles after the dam road is where my grandfather used to own land. Also (its been 40 yesrs), but there was another road after that to get to spring lake. You can pretty much pull off anywhere to camp. On the way in / out. Over near the river and bridge. There is a dirt pull off that is called the "big eddy camping area". It used to be free (but again that was 40 years ago).
That bracket attached to tailgate hinges, from where. I want that for my JLUR to store a fuel container. I have a Rhino Rack Pioneer, but don't like idea of putting fuel pack on top in direct sunlight (heat). You're really out there and appreciated. I did 12k nm of Atlantic coast single-handed. Know a bit about traveling alone. You do so much to produce your videos and have gotten good at it.
Another great video thanks! BTW have you considered a backup camera? I had one installed in the spare tire and the monitor is in the factory radio screen. It was about $1300 Canadian and made a massive difference when parallel parking, backing up at camp or backwards down a trail after running into a gate. All the best Doug
Ursa Minor I go through the Ursa Minor in great detail in episode V9E2: ua-cam.com/video/8x2_vyDrzHg/v-deo.html In short: I love the Ursa Minor. It is comfortable, convenient, super-fast to deploy, and close. It has power and is accessible from the interior of the Jeep. We can stand up in it, cook in it. I can close it and drive away without exiting the vehicle if the need arises. It's more low-profile, aerodynamic, and less fussy than a RTT. It facilitates adventure. John, the owner of Ursa Minor, is a craftsman and stands behind his work. Ursa Minor is the only camper in its class for the four-door wrangler. If you're a weekend warrior and plan to use it only a few times per year, it's probably not worth it. However, if you're a regular overlander and spend a ton of time in the field, it is WELL worth the price.
I don't know if you will be near one but most sporting goods stores have the Thermocell. Dick's, Sportsman's Warehouse, and possibly a Mom and Pop store. Good luck finding one.
I wanted to order one of those tailgate tables like you have but I guess he raised his prices, by the time shipping was added to it, it was as much for one of those as it is for the outback tailgate table. Guess I'll just get the outback table but I really wanted the one you have with the magnets it looks like it's easy to use. Oh well.....
Cannot tolerate the bugs. Like Naked and Afraid participants, insects are often the reason they tap out. What a beautiful area though. Wish Texas had that scenery.
I use citronella soap every 2-3 days. Should be some shops around that area that sell homemade soap. Grab 4 bars of citronella and 3 bars of moisturizing burn and itch soap. I got ate alive last summer in Tennessee. Walked into a mom and pop store and was converted into a homemade soap buyer. She sold me a couple bars of citronella and medicated soap that helps with sun burn. Bites and poison ivy.
You finally got the permethrin spray... Check out Simms Fishing gear. They sell pants, shirts and masks that are pre-treated. I have some and its awesome
I did the same thing with Citronella candles. Thought they repelled mosquitoes. They are supposed to attract the mosquitoes. You put them away from you and the mosquitoes go to it, not to you.
It’s not “panting “ if your are simply trying to take in as much mountain air as possible.
Thank you again sir. You keep our spirit of adventure up when we are stuck behind these locked gates of work.

YES...NO CRAPPY MUSIC!!!!

Outstanding videography! Stunning scenery and well captured. You made my Friday complete! Always waiting on your next video!

Nice rig and kitchen set up. I really like how you can access the inside of the jeep from inside the roof top tent.
I am so fortunate to have discovered your blogs.... Having a bad case of wanderlust... I'm living life through your travels! Thank you soooo much!
Vermont and New Hampshire appear very similar, lots of water, vegetation and annoying bugs...
Shame there were so many trails closed in Maine, it’s like the locals don’t want you traveling freely...
Stay safe out there.
Another great adventure ! thank you Chris !
Just what I've been looking forward to. Thanks for the entertainment.

That's certainly a beautiful part of the world.
You do a great job filming your adventures. I love jeeps and New Hampshire so this video made me happy thank you.
Great video really enjoyed those moose nothing better to see them with two little guys were pretty cool.👍👍🇨🇦
ohhhh here I am rewatching for the 4th time such an amazing video

Thanks for sharing the beauty of New Hampshire. I've only been in that area once in my life and look forward to going back.
I don't know why you don't have more subscribers! Keep up the great work!
Hi Chris !,Always waiting on your next video !,nice one :-)
Make me hungry with those burgers! nice trip, thanks.
Loved that you got footage of the Katahdin at the end. I just recently purchased an old town katahdin fiberglass canoe which was made in 1991. Safe travels!!
Another good week, looks like a great area, happy travels.
. Loved the moose and kids. Thanks for a great video.

At 24:10 it was like watching Wages of Fear or its semi-remake, Sorcerer. Both great movies. But this stuff is real. Quite amazing.
Great shot of the logging truck passing through town.
Thanks Chris, have a great week!
Nerves of steel crossing that bridge!
Awesome.
Driving over the bridge and flipping up the timber was the Jeep equivalent to stepping on a rake...
Great moves Chris...👏👏
Thank you for this.
Great trick with the streaming video to check your tire alignment to the bridge! Enjoy Maine!
love the great photography. My part of the world. Very familiar to me.
Another great watch :)

Welcome to New England. Not much in the way of free camping.
Thought you should have laid on a rock like a lizard after that swim. YOU ARE A BRAVE
PIONEER!!!!!! LOVE YOU COMPLETELY.
You probably wont have a signal, and will be out of Maine by the time you see this. If you have a chance, get up to Baxter state park (far north) and the penobscot outdoor ctr. Heading towards Acadia and Bar Harbor?? I always wanted to go there!
I use a Thermacell - the kind that mounts on top of a propane canister. These units actually work, in my experience.
Better then Netflix

That bridge was really scary!!!
If it's Thermasil it's a wonderful product❣️👍thanks for the 📽️
Great episode!

All the best Doug
Moose footage was wonderful. Bridge footage on the other hand...!
I hiked thru Rangely!!!! Great Place!
I know this video is 1yr ago but it seems like you can enter the roof top tent ⛺️ from inside the Jeep. Is there a video on your tent
Ursa Minor
I go through the Ursa Minor in great detail in episode V9E2: ua-cam.com/video/8x2_vyDrzHg/v-deo.html

Subscribed! Great vid
Cannot tolerate the bugs. Like Naked and Afraid participants, insects are often the reason they tap out. What a beautiful area though. Wish Texas had that scenery.
lol.you must of at least put on a gallon of bug repellent on your clothing . Which repellent worked best?👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👍👍👍👏👏👍👍👍great vlog as usual.

Yup,I worry when I don't see it on Friday.

Enjoying vids

Chris: "Right that wasn't so bad"
Me: Liar.
What coffee pot is that or what episode if you already talked about it? looks amazingly simple!
awesome footage...
