- The Champion 100 is a solid state amplifier that pushes 100 watts into two 12” specially designed speakers. This dual channel Champion 100 features a black face clean channel plus world-renowned Fender clean and overdrive tones and a selectable amp voice, providing you with an assortment of British and modern amp tones and distortion flavors. Aside from being able to chose your amp tone with the turn of a knob, the Champion 100 offers a diverse palette of effects including reverb, delay/echo, chorus, tremolo, Vibratone and more. The Champion 100 even features an easy-to-use TAP button for effects that need to be set, such as delay time or tremolo speed. These great amp voices and effects make it easy to dial up just the right sound - from jazz to country, blues to metal and more.
You really cant beat these for the price, light, reliable and loud as hell if you need it. Way better for bar gigs than dragging a tube amp around
guitarist in my band just got this. we jammed some pop punk with loud ass drums and a 15" bass cab, and my buddy's champ 100 was SO loud, we couldn't turn it past 2. holy balls.
+RhythmGrizz I havnt turned my past 5 and i thought my walls were gunna fall down lol
@@RubensBarrichello. I put mine on 10 once and my whole trailer shook lmao
I put it on 10 and had a marty mcfly experience....
Nice chair he's sitting on
Damn expensive chair
That's the champion chair
I wonder if they sell those at IKEA? I'm looking to get one
😂
I just bought one of these used. I have battled with tube amps on and off for 50 some years, and I'm over it. I still play on stage, and this is now the amp. Since about 1994 all my amps have been 1x12 combos. I feed the input of this amp with a favorite multi-effects pedal for distortions and all effects but tremolo. I use the amp's tremolo, which just KILLS. The reverbs are wonderful too! The clean channel of this amp is surprisingly Fenderesque, and does it without a Middle control! I use the lead channel with the voice set on Clean Deluxe (gain on zero) with treble off, mid on 10, bass on 7. My pedal distortion with my PRS Custom 24 on the lead channel is wonderfully vintage and cleans up with the volume knob on the guitar. The biggest surprise about this amp is how well, and how loud it performs as a bass amp. I'm not kidding. I could go on, but I'll leave it with you by saying that this may be the best value in and amplifier I've ever had since 1963. I returned a Boss Nextone Artist to get it.
Just ordered it and am hoping what you said is true. I'm soooooo tired of high end tube amps, there heavy and not very reliable.......
Scorsese getting into music.
Francisco Ahumada yo, it's uncanny. Lol.
Fr lol I was thrown off for a minute .
😂😂
Ikr. Totally surprised he didn't play a stones tune.
I thought I knew someone like that :v
I gig four times a week with this amp. I own a blues junior and a hot rod deluxe, but the effort in keeping the valve amps running with servicing and valve replacements is why i bought this amp. it looks great sounds sweet with the clean channel, and i put pedals in front for a bluesy or overdriven sound. i use channel two for a boost with a touch of delay and it sounds great. at 2am i know i can put this in my car without worrying about the fragile nature of my valve amps. Only downside is it has no DI output, but its seriously loud, and if i play a bigger than normal gig I put a mic in front of it. I bought mine From Thomann music and it also came with a three year warranty for £233! a no brainer really. highly recommend this amp for rock and blues.
Why was the additional warranty a no Brainer? What is wrong with fender warranty? My guess is the guitar store goes to fender to have them pay for all repairs if warranted, I think warranties smart for used gear but why new stuff
@@michaellindsey3280 Most likely his amp was a used, refurbished or store model, that's why they offer a good or free warranty because it's used.
I've had this amp for over a year and it is fabulous !
Does it have the ability to plug in pedals for pedalboards
@@stewartmcrae4514 i do. I run a Boss gt 6 straight into the clean channel. Every amp will require slight tweaking on your board tho
I've had this amp for over a year now and I have no complaints. Sounds great to me. Not exactly selling out MSG
I love that he’s siting on another amp
Bought mine about 4 months ago, absolutly love it !!!
drlzanej how can i connect this to a interface
Tried this amp today at Sam Ash and was really impressed, extremely versatile and easy to use.
+AdamBMXOdyssey Had one for nearly 2 years now, travel with it a lot, no problems at all, I use it as a primary amp when gigging

I have a champion 20 watt upstairs in my living room to practice on. It does the job. And a Boss Katana 100 watt combo I take out to play in clubs and bars with both are great amps.
I'm planning to buy a boss katana 100 but I only play inside my bedroom. Is it worth it? I currently have an orange 20rt.
Funny story.. Music and Arts mistakenly had this listed locally for $349. I offered to pay cash for no tax, guy said, "we can't do that we are corporate" but he did me one better and said " I have a 20% off coupon for you".. Low and behold when they scanned the bar code it came up $399.. They honored the tag price of
$350 and ALSO the 20% coupon.. I got this really cool amp for $305 out the door. The guitar gods have smiled on ol' Dak. Very cool amp.. Loud as balls .. crispy cleans... nice onboard effects.. pedal included as well (take notes Roland). Very very happy camper.
Went to a pawn shop in the shady part of town, they had never played guitar and didn’t know anything about them. I walked out with it for 225...
@@gaving5246 Noice! You got me beat.. even though its used....but I assume it was in really good condition? nice score for sure.
I’ve just received mine! I have to use headphones for now because of the people here, but it will go to our studio room when we find one. Then I’ll be able to enjoy myself.
I got one of these in the beginning of 2015...it's frickin' LOOOOUUUUUD!!!!!! I jam at only a 2.5 volume! The metal setting is really, really metal, I wanna say Dimebag metal....it's got a really great 70's rock sound like gritty AC/DC.... The clean's really nice...the only issue I have is with the FX loop....I don't really ever mess with FX, so I know nothing about looping, so I'm sure the problem is on my end...I can't seem to get a signal from the out, to the MT-2 pedal and into the return, my wah doesn't loop either....it works nicely through the front but I was inspired by many FX loop videos today that I thought I'd give it a go....could be the wrong type of pedal for a loop, I really don't know...but this amp at 100 watts is INSANELY loud and clear! So loud you don't even want to be near it! 2.5 people....2.5!
2.5 gotcha
Well after having a champion 20 a few months I’m pretty happy with it. Solid state amps have come a LONG way since I last had one 20 years ago. For 300 bucks the champ 100 is definitely worth it. The blackface settings are really good 👍🏻. I dunno about the metal and British settings because I don’t use them or play that kind of music. But the tweed and blackface voicing are pretty good. I use the Princeton reverb setting most the time. Both the clean and overdrive is pretty damn close to a real Princeton with a telecaster. I compared them
hell yeah thanks for the review Fred Armisen
I have the Fender Champion 20. If the Champion 100 sounds like my new Champion 20then it's an incredable amp. I purchased the 20 because it's only 14 pounds and I will run it through my Fender Frontman 212R 100 watt solid state amp and also my Fender Hot Rod Deville III 60 watt all tube amp and my Fender EC Vibro-Champ hand wired 5 watt all tube amp with Tremolo. I really did the Champion 20, small, light, loud as all get out and it has great tone and the Tremolo and reverb are excellent.
+PeterDad60 Actually the Champion 20 is only 12 pounds. Anyone who says these amps suck is kidding themselves.
Bought it, best Amp even has high enough gain for Pantera and chugging... For the price lord.. I don't regret anything on my purchase
Are you able to hook up effects pedals and pedal boards
With all do respect why wouldn't you? It does have fx loop if you read about it fender.com
@@stewartmcrae4514 yep it's such a surprisingly good amp
I still have my Vox Ad30VT Valvetronix amp and I'd like to a/b against this or maybe the 40 W for comprable output. This is a pure ss modeling amp where the Vox is a hybrid having the 12ax7 tube in the preamp.
I have one of these champion 100. I run this amp in stereo with a Peavey Banidt 112 the sound is fantastic. Iam playing on a Fender telecaster and use the combo everywhere I play the champ 100 is a great deal for the price
@Kenny Baxter I use both this and a Peavy bandit 112 as well! Both amazing amps, even though my bandit is a 1960-something silver stripe, it still hangs along. I play on an esp ltd ec-256 though
I wanna play johnny thunders and the heartbreakers style stuff on this amp and also at 2:27 that kinda sounded like get off the phone from jt and the heartbreakers
Awesome video, but man do you recommend this for playing nirvana ? The clean tone
I love this amp, it's simply perfect for practicing, very light, it takes up very little space, it sounds tremendously good, and it doesn't need pedals, it has all the sounds inside, and it also works very well for recording. Some voices and effects are well done (the green light in the blackface section and the spring reverb are great).
Nice, I have ordered an XL this week.
Hope you maybe can help me. What’s the difference to the normal 100? I mean well obviously they look different. The XL looks more futuristic. But are they main differences?
just bought one of these at a pawn shop...really nice
may i ask which is better
fender champion 100 or peavey chorus 212? thanks from philippines
how does it sound with distortion pedals? I have a DS-1 and people are saying it sounds trash
Does the sound go through both speakers in each channel?
I have one it been 17 I stop playing that was dum but I'm. Comeing back I still
Have my twins but I just got the champ 100 love it 👍 has everything you need
Does anyone know where or what what the Jazz voice setting is based off of?
Thinking about purchasing this one for clean tones, and using the other amp i have (Marshall DSL40CR) to dirt and lead. Do you guys think its worth it? Can it deliver the same quality in clean tones as the marshall?
only issue i can see is they are made in Indonesia now and the quality of those things is low , i have had bad experiences with Indo guitars, the necks are made with green wood ( cheaper ) then they start to dry and twist more than the twister game itself , Peace
Tengo ese mismo amp. Y la verdad es genial, economico, fuerte y tremendamente funsional❤
That's my amp. It kicks @$$ I luv it
Does anyone know if both speakers put out the same sound or is there some kind of stereo thing going on here?? Asking because Id like to replace one of the speakers with a 3 way 8 inch. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
How can i make mine sound like joe walsh sounds,,,do i need a pedal or does the combo amp have a way of prouducing the sound
Great amp. I was just a little disappointed by the distortion. It may be because my guitar has p90 pickups and my other guitar has single coil. It just doesn't have that umph I want.
The distortion on these amps is terrible, i don't use it at all its mostly just hiss. I just run a fuzz and an overdrive and it sounds 10x better.
get a big muff with a tube screamer and a wah pedal and you're all set
nice guitar n amplifier
oh yea today its the day .... in a few hours this will be mine :)
How is it?
Im getting one in a couple of weeks. how do you like it 2 years later?
How i can set 4example "metal" tone with delay at the same time?
this should sounds way better then my cube 15 or anyone has other amps that are great for a low price?
Great amp! I love mine ...... if SOME PEOPLE are saying it sounds "too muddy" and fuzzes a lot well next time go to the store and play it first Goddamnit !
thanks for the demo, Mr. Scorsese
:D
Question, I just purchased one and I find odd that if i switch it to OFF, it will not power off immediately. The light blinks 7 times from very bright to very dim and then it shuts off. Is this normal???
David López yeah its normal. my amp also blinks when turn it off
I have a doubt about this amp: channel 2 has digital emulations, but channel 1 It's a digital emulation too? Or it's a clean Analog transistor channel like a Fender Frontman for example? I don't like digital emulations because I will use it with overdrive and distortion pedals, but if channel 1 it's a regular analog solid state sound I will buy the amp and just use that clean channel, but it,s not clear to me if channel 2 it's a digital emulation too or analog
I mean channel 1
Looking for a nice giggable amp around the 300-400 dollar range. Mainly for indie/punk/garage tones. Might have a few pedals hooked up to it. Would this be the amp for me?
Jack Gulla yes definitely!!
Yes sir! I got this for Christmas last year, no gigs because I'm 15, but this thing is loud. I reccomend this for anyone tbh.
90s ss fender amp like deluxe 112
Can I connect my Boss GT-10 on that and use the pre amps on the gt 10, and only the speakers on the champion?
Yes, plug your pedalboard in the fx return
Go thru the “power in” on the champ 100. Its on the front panel.
I like the guitar
What song is he playing at 2:27?
Is he sitting on the champ 40? The 100 is a monster im looking for something slightly smaller...
Is the aux sound is loud enough?
Will these put out enough volume for band practice and medium gigging?
You’ll be told to turn it down.
I know this thing can go loud but on the lowest few volume settings is it quiet enough for bedroom practice too?
Yes it's low enough on the lowest setting but beware the volume dial on these is sensitive as you'd expect for 100w. It goes from quite loud at 2, to super loud at 3. It's a nice listenable volume though, not too loud at it's lowest, it just comes in really fast.
But bear in mind this shouldn't be an issue cos it's got a headphone socket as well so you've always got that to fall back on.
Get a good pair of studio monitor headphones. Then your practice volume won't be an issue for anyone else. But good headphones can go very very loud, so for the sake of your only pair of ears be careful with the volume control.
I find it cannot push at high volume for longer than 1.5 hours max
got that
On my list....other sites demo a zillion other things it can do, but this demo puts it in my world. Maybe after i fix the wife's car.....
remember folks alot of the shit you hear is coming from his fingers
unfortunately
Great ampli !
Dam Martin Scorsese's
got some serious tasty licks going on there who'd have thought it!!
I have this amp and there is a noticeable delay when I switch from the clean channel to the dirty channel. It's really frustrating because I want it to be immediate.
Using the foot switch that is.
I haven't had experienced any delay, but ig I dont switch enough
just put a down payment on one, is it good for alternative rock/punk/poppunk/alternative rock?!
Are there any posibillities to modify this amp into a all tube gig ?
I doubt that'd be very practical or worth it considering you can get a decent used tube amp for around the same price.
What Metal Voice is the best to play in a Alice in Chains Tribute Band according to you?
And what about Bass, Mid and Treble regulations?
This is the amp for you if you want Alice in chains tones, and the amp setting are bass: 3 o'clock. Mid: 12 o'clock and treble: 2 o'clock
+Oliver Brown Thank you man, I'm going to try this setting ;) What metal voice is the best? I think metal 2000
i think so too but you should have a proper sit down with the amp, you should try the digi tech sc2 hard wire vale distortion pedal if you want a face lift distortion tone as well
Does it have distortion?
I've been looking for an amp that is worth my money and I wasted $350 on a line 6 that had a lot of background hiss and poor audio quality so is this amp really worth my money? Does it have a lot of background hiss? I have a squier stratocaster and a Sam Ash employee told me it shouldn't affect the sound of the amp so I would really appreciate an honest feedback with pros and cons. Thank you.
It actually could be the guitar. If it's a cheap guitar it probably has cheap pickups. But you really should be able to dial in some good tones on a line 6. You've really got to play with the settings though. The Fender does probably sound better though.
+jMOPS1993 thank you so much I appreciate the information. What guitar would you recommend in the $300-$500 range? I like to play jazz and some heavy rock.
+Chris “Christmas” Yerton Epiphone Les Paul Standard. They're great guitars. I just bought one not long ago for 375 dollars in like new condition. Sounds great and feels better than some of my more expensive guitars. You won't be sorry. I wish I would have gotten one years ago.
+jMOPS1993 lol thank you again you really helped me out a lot I appreciate your help (:
I don't get any hiss out of mine
I have 2 of this amp and it's amazing
Ahmedi Al Balushiz
Ahmedi Al Balushiz is Balushiz have to do anything with bullshit?
How can i connect this amp to my interface for silent recording ? Thanks
Rick Beato doing reviews now.
Does anyone have any recommended pedals for this amp?
Boss blues driver
Marshal jackhammer
I really love your guitar what type and colour is it!?
+Raw Penguin It is a Fender Stratocaster, there are a lot of different models so I'm not sure what color or model.
+Raw Penguin I'd call it metallic blue or something similar
"Overpriced Blue."
Neal Gold Bang on hahaaha
Only thing really worth it from this video is that beautiful blue Strato...
too powerful ! i have to use bins to practice. fucking ace amp for bucks
this or marshall mg101?
How can you review a modeling amp and only choose the sounds that the fender can do? Should have showed some of the harder sounds and the metal sounds. He may not play in that style but at least show us what the amp sounds like.
The metal channel sounds bad im fraid. I play heavier music and i stick to the tweed and blackface settings. Also its not a modelling amp its a solid state amp.
is this a good amp for live gigs? if there's something better, would should I look for? I'm looking for something pretty high volume
It can get extremely loud. Overall it's a great amp. The clean channel is excellent. The drive models are lacking. But if you use pedals for drive, you'll love this amp
Nicholas Tropiano sounds perfect. thanks for the help!
The best amp for the price is a Boss Katana 100, but this amp is a great pedal platform anyway!
Maybe an easier to use mustang?
The Great Gazoo 100%
Sounds too good to not think that you're actually putting another valve amp :V
Is this a good amp for live sessions? I mean playing on stage?
it should be fine. you have 100 watts and 2x12 speakers. If it isn't loud enough just ask the sound engineer to mic you up!
thanks bro.
This or a used Fender Ultimate Chorus? Someone is selling me one at the same price
I'm going to be in a two man punk band, will this be loud enough and have enough low end to sound big considering there will be no bassist, just guitar and drums?
There's going to be more to factor in than just the amp, but I own this and trust me, it is LOUD. I play in a band and I still haven't turned it up as high as it can go because it drowns everyone else out. It's a great amp, especially considering the price.
I wonder if using pedals with the clean channel would help the sound of this amp?
My suggestion is to buy a fender mustang floor effects pedal board and it will solve the problem, trust me mate.
+Metalgears1968 that sucks buy some real stuff get some pedals
I run my rig through this no problem. Usually on a clean tone from the 65 reverb voice. And some grit with overdrive pedal and compression. Infront of amp then into my FX loop but the FX built in are pretty good.
Does the amp have reverb on it
of course
Michał Agsagsafsan cheers
I think its got 3 or 4 styles of reverb, plus some reverbs mixed with other effects as well. Then there's always the fx loop to stick your own in.
Does it have an onboard looper?
no
One more thought, i love the Sam Ash people, so this is where i'll go.....
Will this sound good on an Epiphone Casino?
Should do, but fender design their amps to work best with fender guitars. however, the sound will be good with all guitars :)
Yes it will.
can you plug a cab in to this amp?
No but you can have a microphone close to it and hook it up to a speaker but honestly just use the volume on the amp
You can change the speakers, celestion v30 for example i bet it Sounds much better then, the speakers that are in probably aren't that good if it sells for bellow 300 bucks with 2x12"
+scott sparks It has PWR out in PWR In, so you can use this amp to run another amp through it's guitar jack or if it has PWR IN jack. I run 3 amps this way at one time.
fender frontman 10g ftw!
Lol 15g and 10g master race.
***** frontman 15g rules ;D
they sound better than these champions.
Bought the amp, it has a buzz even on the clean tone. Is there a fix?
sk8_monster12 PvP noise suppressor?
Aneesh Sharma Do I need to buy one to fix it?
Probably should've mentioned my guitar earlier too, I use a Mexican strat from 95, I haven't messed with the electronics since I got it.
sk8_monster12 PvP
If you want to get rid of feedback on the clean tone, like when you turn the volume up, I would say get a noise gate of some kind. Depending on your budget, I say the NS 2 noise suppressor is the best you can get for it's price. Then again, I'm no expert :P
Might have to try that.
*****
It worked for me...no need to be an ass about it.
Can it be used on stage??
It can but it is nothing compared to a similarly priced 2nd hand 20-40w valve combo (for gigs)
Let me know the price in Indian rupees & watts of this amplifier
If you don't have Google in India maybe stick with the sitar-non amplified.
It is good with pedals?
For the price i'd rather get a Boss Katana.
Can't believe the stupid comments on here, brake instead of break, which is nonsense. There are other reviews on here, check them all out then try one in a shop before making stupid rash comments on something you don't even own or tried out. It's a great amp, I also have a Frontman 65r, and a 25 watt, which is used on the demos on my youtube page.
Kelvin Smith I agree Kevin it has the twin sound for sure and the gain channel is really versatile. I have a marshall tube jcm 2000 dsl 401 running a 4x12 cab under it and it's awesome but my champion 100 is every bit as good sounding if not better depending on the sound. I've owned a lot of amps through the years and this one is one of the best sounding and usable as far as having modeling sounds in my opinion. especially for the price I paid on sale less than 300 bucks.
I'm not saying it's made for metal but then again I don't use the heavy metal settings but metal heads are really particular about their heavy sounding metal amps and that's ok but before you dog this amp try one out and you might just be surprised. young guitarist always think they know what sounds best even when never really hearing or trying and everyone else always sucks except them because you know they can play the intro to all the new popular shit blah blah blah blah my big black foot in yo ass

This amp Is scary
Those older Fender frontman 212R amps sound way way better than these champions ! Hopefully fender made these BETTER and more reliable than the frontman series as I have had two go bad, one crapped out with no sound and the other was crapping out slowly, so sold out to guitar center.
Terrible mic or something going on. Compression? Holding the tone back?
How can i connect my interface to this amp ? Thanks
Is this amp too loud for bedroom practice?
Not if you turn down the VOLUME ...... :-\
If your just using it for bedroom practice. I recommend you buy something with 40 watts or less. 100 watts will be way too loud even if you turn it down.
¿Fender Champion 100 or Fender Mustang III?
OFFSTALLICA that's what I'm wondering too
But late but I’ll answer the question if you don’t know what different effects sound like and don’t want to spend loads trying to find out get the mustang. If you just want a loud good sounding amp that is affordable get the champion. I prefer the champion over the katana amps and valve amps.
best beginner amp on the market right now imo ...
This or peavey bandit 112?
may i ask which is better
fender champion 100 or peavey chorus 212? thanks from philippines
Both get both, I have both asking me which is best is like asking a parent which one of their children they like best.
Fender does fender blues and rock tones has more fx. Peavy is voiced differently very bluesy and does some ridiculous high gain stuff and has transtube technology which makes it sound more valve like. It’s all good.
Should I buy this amp
Yes. Yes you should. Or you should steal one Either is good.
You know a man likes fender when he uses a fender amp as a chair
is this valve amp?
Jake Rowan ig i want to record in silent where should i connect this amp to my interface ? Thanks and sorry
No.
