Its much more expensive than X6 , Went for a test drive last week , drove both X6 40i M sport and GLE 53. Did not feel much difference in the power , the sound is better in AMG for sure ... but overall price difference of ~40,000 USD does not justify ... BMW offers more value for the money
Thanks for the feedback. Mercedes decided to make GLE 53 AMG a very exclusive car. You will see them less in stock and they also increased MSRP by $10K for 2024 model, so they target a specific audience who don't care about payments but rather really want the car. BMW X6 40i XDrive is also not for everyone but it's more available, you can negotiate with BMW on pricing and it has the same regular B58 engine as X5 (no extra power like GLE 53 AMG over regular GLE). I like he appearance of GLE 53 AMG more and like you mentioned exhaust sound is quite nice, but I still want to try out X6 with "M Sport Exhaust System" which is part of "M Sport Professional Package".
@@HN-ol7oz price wise I agree, but then we still want to know the engine comparison as both are same inline 6 engines. See the price tag for 2024 AMG 53 went up also because they added lot's of standard equipment. Even BMW started doing some of that. In the past you could get X6, non M Sport with rear wheel drive. Now X6 comes only with MSport package and all wheel drive. But to match standard equipment on Merc you would need to add air suspension, premium seats, exhaust package and More premium audio system and price will be closer than it looks right now.
Both cars are beautiful. Might give the exterior to Mercedes. I give the interior to BMW. Give the value to BMW. Give the inline 6 engine to BMW. That engine is spot on in performance and reliability.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, for me exterior is also 100% Mercedes. I honestly even liked interior of Mercedes more also because: 1. instrument cluster is way more customizable than BMWs. 2. Mercedes still offered some buttons to essential features like climate control, where's BMW just moved everything to the screen 3. I think interior quality looks more upscale in Mercedes unless you opt for BMW Alpina models. Engine/Performance is 100% BMW - and this is why I would end up with BMW mostly :)
Test drove the x6 ... drove onto Merc (and Audi) lots. X6 clear visual winner for me. Before you buy Merc, check reliability. 2023/4 bad. Just ratings, but be aware.
Thanks for the feedback. After spending a day I see why there are fans on both sides. Mercedes is very flashy, fancy and has overall good comfortable ride, so this category of people care more about luxury and comfort over driving dynamics. BMW is more for those who care about being connected to the road and enjoy it's driving dynamics. Not to say Mercedes doesn't have any sporty cars they are just different.
GLE for me - Crazy how in many parts of the recording it looks like you have a green screen in front of the car, due to the air suspension! Quite visible at the first pull away, and again at 14:00min in... :)
Based on power figures AMG 53 is just slightly more powerful than X6 40i. But price wise it is closer to M60i. I will bring soon X6 40i on the channel to discuss the difference between X6 40i vs AMG 53 AMG and X5 40i.
How reliable is a MB GLC AMG 43 with over 40k miles? I am thinking about selling my 2022 BMW X4 m40i (paid off) to get some extra money -- will purchased a used something -- GLC amg 43, or Audi SQ5 sportback or a used Jaguar F-Pace (that is know is the worse in reliability).
Not sure about used Mercedes quite honestly. These cars are good while they are new but how reliable they will be used is almost like getting a lottery ticket :)
I did not get this due to lack of the 4D Burmeister sound system which had ceiling speakers and illuminated tweeters. They had it for 2020-22 model. I got the X6 M60i and fully loaded its $109k. The GLE fully loaded at my spec was $107. BMW has the v8 and performance and the color (Isle of Man green) Only negative is the small rear seating and a tiny bit low quality interior.
Nice, congrats on your BMW. They really bumped GLE $10K more for 2024 and as you mentioned it now really compares to X6 M60i in terms of pricing. I will try to bring soon X6 40i just to compare the ride quality.
Thanks for stopping by. I don't believe it had that feature. I would be really curious to know how much different it would make in cornering as it should help reduce the body roll.
BMW doesn't have an answer to GLE 53? What about X6 M60 modification which has 8cyl 4l engine with 530HP? This GLE not even closer to M60 engine. Also, BMW door carts are made from soft plastic compared to this GLE 53 which has sratchy cheap plastic on doors. Monitor on GLE looks outdated with huge black bezels around it. And so on
Thanks for the comment. Well comparing X6 M60 to GLE 53AMG is basically V8 vs inline 6. There is GLE 63 to match higher trims of X6. in Europe they have GLE 450 which would match directly X6 40i. GLE53 AMG is a more powerful inline 6 engine that X6 doesn’t offer at all. Also GLE 53 AMG comes standard with many features like Sport Exhaust, Burmester sound, upgraded seats which all you can add to the X6 but it will bring the cost of X6 much closer to GLE 53. Otherwise looks are subjective. I just didn’t find X6 40i to be a special car even though I love BMWs.
@@100miledrive Well, you are comparing cars, not engines, right? So, you can buy BMW M60 with all similar futures that GLE 53 offer almost for the same price. In addition, you get more powerful engine. So, my point was that it is not right to say that BMW does not offer something similar, when in reality BMW offers even more for the same price.
4:40 For reallll bro. That is what has gotten me even more to hate BMW. I ain't like them like that but the fact of the lack of buttons i just disguting lol
Thanks for sharing your feedback. As much as I love BMWs but I also cannot digest the fact that they are following the same trend as Tesla by imposing just 1 screen for everything. I don't care if they do this in electric cars as that can flow with that, but for gas cars it loses this iconic image of BMWs having driver oriented cabin and blends it with everyone else.
As bmw owner, and from my perspective I got no issue with climate control on the screen. The only thing need to do is change the temperature which located permanently down the screen. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
Thanks for sharing Your Perspective. From few BMW videos that I made on this channel I found more people prefer physical buttons for climate control/heated seats. As a BMW owner myself putting it all on the screen is not something I found convenient test driving newer gen BMWs, especially when roads are slightly bumpy.
@@100miledrive yeah, everybody said that including myself, till I tired the iDrive 8 and it’s just not as bad as I thought. Testing cars ain’t the same as living with them for few months.

Bigger than an x6, some better available features but the drive and value does not beat the BMW
I noticed that. The price of the gle is higher than the x6. I love bmw but the gle 53 is really special

Yep. Quite an amazing vehicle. Handling is not as crisp as some of the rivals but overall very luxurious experience. Loved the exhaust notes.

X6 💪🏻
Hey, thanks for sharing.
BMW X6 got a better build Quality then the GLE
Maybe. I would certainly trust BMW's engine more as B58 such a great engine and even used in Toyota Supra.
Very interesting review, thanks a lot! But BMW is definitely a better choice!💯💯💯
Thanks for watching and sharing your preference.
Agreed!
No effing way!
Why are you comparing this to the x5? It competes with the m60i and the SQ7. Its way more expensive than an X5. The 350 and 450 are X5 competitors

Insane in Germany it starts from 82k
Oh yeah. Showing $87K starting as of now here in US
