What's even more wholesome for me is that since the Einsam reads memories it's how much Frieren believes and remembers him(mel) as the good and kind-hearted person he was.
I love that you two understand this show right away. I've seen some reactors not get it and struggle to figure it out for half the season and beyond. Yes, Kiss, trust your intuition; it's ok to be wrong, and sometimes you'll be right!
so the overkill Frieren did when shooting Himmels phantom was to passively help Fern, overcomming it herself, high density mana to reveal the actual enemy... also it uses their Memory, therefore in Frierens perception of Himmel, he is such a good guy... that Frieren in her mind cant even imagine Himmel luring people in, thats why Himmel as the threat, from Frierens mind, is so aware to not harm innocent people ❤
Her blowing half the forest was not to help Fern, it was because she subconsciously was angry at the monster using Himmel... Yeah, she was smiling, because feelings are seeping to the surface in many ways.
You are probably the only person online that i have seen to get this, everyone else just interprates this as frieren being "biGG aNgY" blah blah. High density magic removes the mist illusion, thats the sole reason she did a massive bl&st, to help Fern, she is a good master/mentor
stark is just a kind soul, he has the potential to be a human calamity but he has a problem with confidence, believing in himself and also taking the first step, probably stemming from his childhood and upbringing.
You finally meet Stark. I always look forward to reactors finally meeting my personal favorite character. I love how is portrayed at first, like a strong and confident warrior, with a heap of charisma... aaaaand then we get the "real" Stark, and I love his character even more, lol. I can't wait for you ladies to see episode 6.
I thought it was really funny when frieren wasn't impressed by the scare stark showed and told him "that's not a scare" like she probably saw soo much worst wounds in her long life that for her what stark had was scratch in her eyes. I also like frieren obvious deep respect perhaps even admiration she shows to worriors through out the story,
The series reckons its timeline from the time of Himmel the Hero's passing. The 2nd half of Ep 1 mentions that 20 years had passed since Himmel died, and that's when Frieren met Fern when she went to visit Heiter. Fern was 9 then. Ep 5 is now at 28 years after the death of Himmel the Hero, which means that Fern is now 17 in this episode.
Stark: "I'm so scared! I don't know why the dragon isn't attacking the village anymore!" Also Stark: Casually scaring the crap out of the dragon by cutting through a cliff every night as part of his training. Actually, that probably explains why the villagers believe in him so much. Even if Stark tried to tell the truth and claim that he's weak, they can literally hear and see him doing his crazy training every night.
I love the detail where Frieren did the excessive attack on the fake Himmel on purpose so Fern can see the monster, and the small detail that Fern shot the monster directly and not Heither 🤧
When the ED lyric "Are you alright?" comes up unexpectedly, the look you ladies have each episode is priceless. Because I'm sure we all had it. The eps not long enough. Personally can't wait for episode 10 reaction from yall
"I wish the episodes were an hour long." I hear that a lot from folks who watch this anime. They'll start with "I'll just watch a couple to see what all the hoo-hah is about," and next thing they know thery've binged the whole series in a day or two. Hard to blame them. I did the same thing when I first started reading the manga.
I would absolutely love to see you girls watch The apothecary diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) for the mysteries, drama and simple beauty of the thing.
Throughout the series Fern was shown several times to pass very nervously between ridges on wooden logs. This represents her lack of confidence in herself.
Stark his young and similar to Fern, his only frame of reference is a member of hero party. So it is not surprising that until he really faces strong enemies and wins, he just doesn't know how powerful he is.
9:30 fr like Stark's aura is like -999999 at this point, but wait until he do it 😊 11:36 One Piece and Frieren this two anime I dont want to be ended tbh. My top 2 anime oat ❤
I always enjoy watching your reactions to anime from Japan. I love your insight and emotional responses. We are able to calculate an approximate lifespan for humans from what the show has given us so far. Adventurers are often quite young as they need physical strength and stamina to complete their adventures. We can assume that Himmel was roughly between 16 and 26 when he set out on the journey. The journey was 10 years, meaning Himmel was between 26 and 36 when they returned to the city at the start of Episode 1. Himmel lived another 50 years, meaning he was between 76 and 86 when he died. Heiter lived another 24 to 26 years. We aren't told exactly when he died but Frieren had been there at least 4 years (after the 20 year time skip) but she was journeying with Fern after 6 years. Assuming Heiter was a similar age to Himmel, that means he was roughly 100 to 112 years old when he died. Assuming that years are the same length as our world, the human life span is roughly the same as ours.
As an Usopp fan I already have a soft spot for the cowardly warrior character type but Stark is special for a lot of reasons. It’s impossible to not like that guy
This is a bit Spoier-ish, so I won't go into to much detail, but I feel I need to point it out, because the show doesn't really bring it up again. When Frieren was talking about seeing her master beg for her life, she wasn't saying it in a traumatic way. Flamme would do things like this for reasons you'll see in upcoming episodes.
Y'all should do Dandadan, it's insane, funny, stupid, heartbreaking, cute, incredibly animated, action packed. It does it all real well, definitely go in blind
Reading Frieren as a German is kind of a spoiler, since all names in the show are German. Stark for example means Strong, so him tuning out to be actually really strong is not a big surprise. Well maybe spoiler is the wrong word, it's more like it's giving you hints.
Brave fearless warrior who aren't scared of any battle or enemy, most of the time die quicker where as fearful warriors like eisen die last which a lows them more time to get stronger and more powerful..... In my humble opinion.
On human ages: Heiter passed away 86 years after the start of their 10 year adventure, so easily over 100 at that point. (10 year adventure + 50 years between Meteor showers + 20 years until Frieren visits + 6 years to translate the book) And Himmel himself was 60 years older than whenever their adventure started, so around 80?
Himmel was less then 80. He was 17 when they left on their journey, so 27 when they returned, then 50 years later at 77 he passes. That age was confirmed in the manga. I actually thought he was older when they left. Heiter was about Himmel age, 77 + 20 years then 6, so around 103. While never confirmed most of us think as a priest his healing magic helped him live longer.
What Fern meant is, she has been with Frieren for half of her life 16 yo. Remember Frieren trained her for 4 years, and they've been adventuring for more than 3 years.
Human lifespans seem to be a bit longer in this show than ours. Heiter was over 100 years old when he died. Then there's the guy that flipped Frieren's skirt as a child. He was still alive and well nearly 80 years later. There's also the guy where they cleaned up the beach that seemed to remember that she didn't go to see the sun rise when she was there 80 years ago. Also, the herbalist that asked to them to clean Himmel's statue did so because Himmel saved her 80 years ago.
Getting to watch both you guys and LM react experience Frieren... it's a great time to be a fan of reactors who are so engaged and emotionally attuned to the shows they're watching!
Hey yall should watch Jigokuraku aka Hells paradise. It’s been considered the “Dark Trio” alongside jujutsu kaisen and chainsawman fans for years. It’s 12 or 13 ep and it finished airing last summer. It’s confirmed for a season 2 already. At least react to the 3 trailers then go from there.
One of the universal constant of reactions to Frieren (besides tears) is how everyone keeps getting flashbanged by the end credits. You really can't see time passing watching this show. Oh, it's getting good? Things are starting to move? It feels like the episode started ten minutes ago? Too bad, _'And you alright~~'_
This isn’t really a spoiler: we see other mages later. And for most of them; their spells DONT. Frieren is a Legend, part of a team that did what nobody could do. Her apprentice sees one of the greats and so this kind of exceptional is the normal in her world. Fern is becoming exceptional herself because she trains at the level she sees. Never occurs to her that somebody couldn’t do that since she knows it can be done (by somebody who can’t even get up in the morning this has to be possible)
"Why would he be afraid if he's that powerful?" Because he has zero experience fighting monsters. Let's just say he has a tendency to underestimate himself.
I love the small detail that himmel was so pure of heart even impersonating him the ghost helps encourage frieren
What's even more wholesome for me is that since the Einsam reads memories it's how much Frieren believes and remembers him(mel) as the good and kind-hearted person he was.
He was right to be proud of his looks.
It's one of my favorite details in the whole show. Like episode 6 has the sweet dragon fight, but 5 has this beautiful little moment.
Phantom Himmel: "Frieren, shoot me."
The Einsam, probably: "Wait, what the fu-"
I love that you two understand this show right away. I've seen some reactors not get it and struggle to figure it out for half the season and beyond.
Yes, Kiss, trust your intuition; it's ok to be wrong, and sometimes you'll be right!
Releasing a Frieren reaction on Christmas Eve. It’s what Himmel the Hero would’ve done. Merry Chrysler!
And a Happy New Dodge
Schöne Weihnachten!
Loved the connection between Stark and Fern both training with rocks. Thanks for sharing!
Watching your reaction is like a routine for me, always love it!
Same every weekday

I’m so grateful… I get to watch ,support and interact with this channel from the bottom of my heart thank you all.

I like to imagine that Frieren was genuinely pissed off that the Einsam dared to show her Himmel to lure her
@emperornguyen she smiled though when she said "guess ive changed"
Her blowing half the forest was not to help Fern, it was because she subconsciously was angry at the monster using Himmel... Yeah, she was smiling, because feelings are seeping to the surface in many ways.
@Bayard1503 well good thing these things are open interpretation :)
You are probably the only person online that i have seen to get this,

In Frieren's mind Himmel always tells her to do the right thing
Oh you noticed, most people overlook Frieren casually taking out a chunk of a mountain.
stark is just a kind soul, he has the potential to be a human calamity but he has a problem with confidence, believing in himself and also taking the first step, probably stemming from his childhood and upbringing.

My favorite duo reactors.
I find it weird that Frieren might be my all time favorite anime.
It just feels right in every way.
Why would that be weird?
@@BunnyFlowers Because I'm a grown man I guess.

Himmel would have been around 80 when he died, assuming he started his quest after he was 18.
