  • This is my second Tamiya kit built which I found to be both challenging and very rewarding. I went outside my comfort zone with adding gold flake to paint but feel it really payed off with the theme I was going for. A theme I tried my best to portray into this video.
This time lapse spans over about a month where I worked on her with any free time in between work and family life. Unfortunately I had a corrupt memory card and lost a lot of the beginning stages of the build however like explained, it didn’t result in losing too much exciting footage. Honestly just the mundane stuff like setting up the servo, esc, receiver and some steering and suspension components.
As always I really look forwarding to chatting with everyone in the comments as rc cars, the hobby in general, is unfortunately not very popular in my area.
Thanks to everyone for all the support and for watching!

Great way to make a stunning buggy look better with the gold flake

That's come out beautiful absolutely spectacular 👌👍 I just recently built a Nova Fox too. In stock standard Tamiya box art. I was thinking of going a custom paint scheme but then hit a problem ,I didn't know what colour to go. But the Fox is such a stunning looking car that box art is fine 👍👌

Thank you. Much appreciated 🙏. It was challenging and fun. I definitely think the Novafox is underrated. People seem to completely love it, or strongly dislike it.. I kinda like that it was a one off chassis’s, definitely unique which is why I went the route i did. But yes I agree the box art is stunning 👍

@@NoNoRc yep they are a great buggy. I have 2. I got an original vintage Tamiya Fox back in 1987 and now a brand new Nova Fox. My old fox from 1987 is very old and I didn't want to risk damage but I remember how much fun it was to drive so I had to buy a Nova Fox just to relive old days. I've got quite a collection of Tamiya RC cars. I also recently brought a Hornet and a Lunchbox black edition. The Hornet I'm sorry to say was really not much fun to drive. I put in a faster 15 turn coreRC motor and my poor little Hornet kept rolling over onto its roof. It went from looking stunning to old and scuffed up in about the time it takes to use 4-5 battery charges I must have rolled it around 25 times. Then I said no more. I put back the standard silver can Tamiya motor and it's so much nicer to drive. Now I have the 15 turn coreRC motor in the Fox and it flies. Plus I haven't crashed it one time. Although after the Hornet I only drive the Fox on a grass sports field. Just wait till I put in the 18 tooth pinion gear from the Hornet. 👌👍

That’s rad! To be honest I was never into Tamiya’s at a young age. My siblings all had kyosho’s, to which I was only allowed to look at not touch, lol so I think that’s what added to the allure and liking of them. Man i remember them being so expensive that I would always have to settle for radio shack or any garage sale special rc I could afford on such a baller 11 year old budget 😂.I would just stare at my brother’s kyosho Tomahawk endlessly wishing I could play with it and have one. When he was not around I would sneak up and grab it, looking at every same bolt, moving the suspension up and down as if it was jumping off our local homemade bmk track. I would always make sure to put it back in the exact same spot as i found it but I suspect he always knew 😅. I just recently got into Tamiya’s and I must say got bit by the Tamiya bug pretty hard. I built my first one about 6 months ago, Fighting buggy, aka super champ and it is absolutely my favorite vintage tamiya so far. Such a stunning looking buggy. My plan is to convert a hornet over to a panda cyclone which I’ll detail the build on this channel, but I know what you mean about its driving characteristics and style. It’s one of quirks that adds to its vintage charm I think. I currently have more Tamiya’s kits to build over Kyosho’s as I feel I missed out on my childhood with them. The Novafox was my second Tamiya ever built and I agree it drives just as good as it looks 👍
