Best thing I ever bought was our auger 2 yrs ago! Told hubby it was to make planting all those fruit trees easier, plus we still needed to finish our perimeter fencing. We've done both now; planted 20 trees and now I have to figure out where to put the rest that are in pots! That auger has been worth every penny!!!

I made a case hardened blade about 2 inch wide and bolted it on the tip so I wouldn't have to sharpen so often on my auger love what you do and thank you for your information and content

Good morning Mr. Lead! I got one of those from Harbor Freight a few years back to put my fence posts in with. I got the 4" and 6" augers. It works really good.
We planted several this year as well. Good find at Lowes, it's been hard to find decent plants local. Cape Fear and Desirable are both Type I. For the others you will want to get at least one Type II like Stuart to pollinate. (We bought a Desirable from Lowes to pollinate our Stuarts.) Then after planting we tipped the bare root trees as your supposed to and used the Desirable tip to graft onto an unknown variety. Loving the Stihl beanie while promoting the HF special. 😎
Wow If I understood correctly You got the Auger at Harbor Freight.... I am surprised .... I had purchased a hand cart there 20 years ago and it was junk.... I never went back. Those "Desirable" pecans are the best!!!! I got to contact Lady Lead to get me some land. My next dream home: 5 - 8 bdr. 5 ba, 8 - 12 thousand sq. ft, 5 or more acres, studio, "man cave" (for when I get one), panic room, basement, etc. I want to have something to leave for my future grandkids. When the pecans are ready, me & Lady lead gonna be selling pecan pies, pralines, pecan sandie cookies, etc.
Be sure not to plant the tree too deep. You want the first lateral roots just at the ground level. You want a root flare to form. It will keep the tree secure during high wind and such. Also don't be scared to prune back 1/2 the top of the tree when planting, it will do nothing but promote more growth! Right on liking your videos!
You are a bit ahead of me, but we obviously have similar plans. I bought my land in December. I am still planning how I am going to move forward. I want to build a pond, among other things. Plant an orchard. Plant a vegetable garden. Build a barn. And, build a home out there. Maybe have some chickens and goats and a donkey.
Lead you are making some real powerful power moves Sir. However, have you thought about making your garden space in to a food forest? I am just thinking ahead Brother/ it's just you Lady Lead (A.K.A. LL as I call her lol). I'm thinking the food forest can be to help feed the FAMILY at any time and any amount. Meanwhile having a smaller garden will be less of a work load and just big enough for you and LL to eat from. Also be having a food forest you may not have to plant everything you want to eat ever year, year after year. This is just food for thought Brother, you have enough land to do this and so much more. Just giving ideas as you give so much yourself. My way of giving back✌🏿💪🏿💯🤝🏿
