  • In this video, I test out the noise performance of these cameras, to some surprising results!
I primarily focused on noise performance and explored the nature of Dual Native ISO and what implications that has with filming conditions and the decisions that are made on-set.
    MUSIC USED:
    1. Chasing The Light by Olivaw
    2. Jazzaddict's Intro by Cosimo Fogg (201)
    3. George Street Shuffle by Kevin MacLeod

Strongly recommend turning the G7 Noise Reduction OFF. It just doesn't need it. The G7 noise is very acceptable as-is so if you turn on NR it just crushes the blacks and muddles detail.

im not sure how this doesn't have more views...this helped a lot. im having a hard decision of picking between the PC4k and the g7. im sick of my Canon.
what would you recommend in general though? for all around performance? thanks man!

Hmm I suppose seeing as you make music videos, if you are looking to be light weight and have convenience but still want 4k, then go for the G7. It has relatively manageable file sizes, a flip out screen, and it can be "forwards compatible" with lenses made for bigger sensors, like if you have Canon lenses, you can use adaptors or metabones speed booster.
The P4K is definitely a cinema camera with way bigger file sizes, and you kind of have to rig it out with a cage, a monitor, a v mount battery (cos just using the Canon camera will drain it half an hour), etc. But so long as your on tripods and plan your shots and you know you want a beautiful, cinematic look, go for the P4K. Caveat being you have to do way more colour grading than you would for the G7.
So yeah bottom line, depends for videos you shoot, which affects what you need.
Of course this is just one man's opinion, but I hope this helped.
      Cheers

11:45 it has something to do with how the brightness information is transferred from the sensor to where it is sent off as data I suspect... notice how it is concentrated on the same axis as the candle light.

You should have used the 90d not the 80d so it could be all 4k.
