Today we revisit the old series on Medieval Philosophy by considering a text by Thomas Aquinas for the first time on this channel since 2018 some six years ago. Aquinas's classic On Being and Essence is, let's just say, a very difficult text but well worth the effort, as we discover the reasons why essence is neither form nor matter but something more complicated. This understanding of essence allows us to understand even immaterial beings like angels and ultimately God on rational grounds alone.

Not material ones for sure, but whatever identities they might have/manifest, those are their bodies (which means an angel may have many bodies/ modalities of manifestation)
