My skull was my reward for winning the marathon world championships in 2010, my triangle on my hand reminds me to keep moving forward and make progress, and my turtle/Pura Vida tattoo on my leg is a reminder of my amazing time in Costa Rica. New tattoos - mountains on my arm & VV on my wrist because I didn't know what I wanted until 5 mins before I got them!

Hello from a San Diego Motovlogger!
A lot of people saying to use polyurethane, or spar varnish. But as someone who has worked as both a professional house painter and a carpenter for the last 15 years, I'd go with Linseed oil. It's natural, it's easily redone, and it's beautiful. Polys and Varnishes will crack, peel and discolor over time and will not be as easy to redo as Linseed oil would be.

For the bench you should coat in in Yatch varnish it gives a clear finish and is perfect for outdoor things like the bench!

When I saw that it started with a run, I got stoked! Love it when you do active things, Ben! Gotta admit that thanks to you (I started watching you around mid-2013), you've really inspired me to live a more active life, eat healthier, and just be overall conscious abut everything going on around me. All that has lead to about a 90lb weight loss and just feeling awesome mentally & physically! Just really wanted to thank you, sir!
I'm a grumpy guy, my glass is always half empty, no funny movies make me LOL, maybe a chuckle inside but it takes a lot to make me openly laugh at something. That boxing scene got me LOL, which is great for me as it brightens my world. Thank You Mr Brown.

I actually love the "boring" everyday running errands and building a home with Jeremy vlogs for a change. 😄 I mean I am all for the awesome travel vlogs with lots of adventures and fancy drone shots etc but once in a while it's nice to see you just living the simple life 😊

Happened to my truck in the past Ben, I had low oil but it could happen with bad oil too. Simple oil change will fix that!

Check your oil levels sounds like a misfiring cylinder or low oil. Get it checked ASAP or you may be on the hook for a whole new engine.

colourtone is a local brand that makes an excellent wood seal, they have a oil based sealer as well as a water-based sealer. you can find it at the poleyard in Paarden Eiland.

I think you might need new injectors, check if there is a lot of black stuff on top of the engine, that's a sign (the noise is too) that they need replacing (best to replace all even if one is faulty).

My jeep had a issue like that a while back, ended up being a faulty cilinder, it was misfiring or something along those lines, not a engine guy so sorry for my weird and not concrete answer

For the bench i would say a type of wood sealer, it repels water and its what i use for outdoor decks. No linseed oil or polyurethane as they do not last in the sun and are not water resistant. Hope this helps!

i take resistant materials as gcse and my recommendation is to by some sanding sealer to brush on in two thin layers and just some wax on top of it!

Amazing videos! To your question... Sounds like a broken manifold gasket. It's an easy and affordable fix. My 300Tdi Defender was making the same sound a few months ago. Keep up the awesome vlogging!

Its the headgasket on the engine blowing on the back, I work at a Land Rover specialist in the UK and own a 300tdi 110 myself, get it sorted Ben, the headgasket is blowing from cylinder number 4, if you have the engine running and put your hand around the back of the engine, between the bulkhead and the gearbox you'll feel it blowing on your hand, common problem on the 300tdi engine!!
Put polyurethane on your bench. I would do at least two coats and it will protect it from the weather. I hope that helps

I'm actually doing an apprenticeship course for carpentry and I suggest applying a coat of clear beeswax, leave it to dry for at least 24 hrs. and then apply any hydro resistant varnish (preferably a varnish that you would trust to work properly) and then apply the varnish every 6 months roughly, there are many methods to treat natural woods, some woods react differently to different waxes, varnishes and oils, try to research the methods to match the woods. Love your videos, hope this helps.
Can you tell us what was the furniture shop and where exactly? Looks pretty awesome and some stuff seems to be nice souvenirs from Cape Town when I came there! :)

on the bench outside I would recommend dulux diamond glaze if you can get it. failing that aquatech weathersheild.

All you need on the bench is a bit of lacquer or outdoor clearcoat for wood, get a good thick coat on there when the wood is completely dry so you dont capture moisture in the wood to begin with and then it should be all good! Sweet bench and table though!
I've used something called Australian Timber Oil, which is protective but not glossy like varnish.
marine varnish. Spar varnish for the bench.

oil the bench with flax seed oil. and pumba sounds as if he has a vacuum leak on the inlet / induction side, go check if any hoses are flopping around loose, or are cracked/ split etc...
Try oiling the bench. Use boiled linseed oil or so, it will keep the color of the wood and the moisture out for the most part :) If the weather is horrid, or during the winter/longer periods that you know you won't be sitting outside, just put it in storage or cover it up ^^ And Lmao, I honestly enjoy these vlogs just as much as your adventurous ones^^
I had that with my diesel motor. It was the injector seal rings. It's air escaping. It's rather costly as it will involve a lot of stripping to get to the injectors. It's nothing serious but is an annoying sound.

For the bench, don't take my word for it by I have been studying wood for one of my GCSE's and would suggest a teak oil, this will help to protect the wood from too much rain.

Woodworker here - for the bench use exterior grade polyurethane or better yet spar varnish (used on marine applications). They sell non-yellowing products if that's a concern (although the spar varnish will yellow a bit more regardless). You won't need much so buy the smallest can available - and a simple 'chip' (throwaway) brush will work fine.

You should get a little bit of satin wood wax for the bench- just get a small sponge/old sock and rub it into the wood in a circular motion and it'll protect and seal it :)
you should seal it with oil or if you have the time varnish the bench! Ultimately varnish will look a lot nicer

Sounds like air and piston type thingies!! Also you need an all weather varnish like a polyurethane to protect it from the rain!
