On September 3, 2024, at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, HE Yit Bonna, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, chaired a meeting to review the preliminary results of the feasibility study for the road construction project from Banlung City, Ratanakkiri Province. Kantouy Neak area (Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam border) studied by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) with the participation of His Excellency the leaders and relevant technical officers of various ministries.
In this presentation, the representative of CRBC highlighted the important points that were studied and presented to the meeting, including: (1) Overview of the project (2) Analysis of economic size and traffic volume (3) ) Construction plan (4) Technical standards, bases of the road (5) Duration of construction and total investment (6) Financial assessment and (7) Request for improvement and additional input For this study.
After listening to the presentation from the representative of CRBC, HE Secretary of State further clarified some important points related to the construction technique according to the actual geographical situation, the alignment of the road, the coordination with the relevant parties, etc. This road serves the transportation sector, promotes socio-economic growth, and serves the people living along the road, especially as an important border belt.
In addition, the Secretary of State requested the representatives of CRBC to study the technical characteristics in accordance with the technical standards of the Ministry and to provide at least 2 study options for the approval of the Minister.
The Secretary of State plans to lead a team to inspect the site to analyze, evaluate and collect data from all angles before seeking the approval of the management to ensure that this important road will provide national interests and good quality. .
