NATIVE OKLAHOMA - Pilot TV Show

"Native Oklahoma" is a collaborative effort between several Oklahoma Native American tribes and OETA Oklahoma Educational Television Authority PBS station. Comprised of several video stories produced by the Cherokee, Cheyenne and Arapaho, Choctaw, Osage, Kiowa (by Charles "Boots" Kennedye at OETA) and Ponca tribes, the final show was compiled and edited by the CATV47 Cheyenne and Arapaho Television in Concho, OK.

I just happened by your program on OETA and it was very nice! The man I saw today on the show had written an episode for Star Trek The Animated Series and was wondering if this episode could be posted online? I was thrilled when I saw it and can't wait to share it with all my Star Trek friends and show them the Oklahoma and Native connections with Star Trek. Thanks!

I agree with you. my ohio Ottawa cousins today inhabit n.e. Oklahoma. So sad for me that none I met were identifiable ( unlike this better than average video ) in 1998. We are a lost race here in Michigan, and I see Oklahoma is no different. I despise being a footnote to history as we die out. Fact is no Indian comes to my mind when most are at best...1/2 bloods. The predominance of dark folk here is warming.

I hate to burst your bubble, but the Indian population of Oklahoma is no more "Native" than any other person born in the state. Indians are not "Native" Americans either. Their descendants just arrived before any others. The correct term is Indigenous or aboriginal. Words have meaning and I'm a bit weary of the Indians trying to flog everyone else with their "Native" nonsense.
