Color-coding is a great idea because you can see what's coming in from a distance. I've been using 2m square displays personally, but may change to color-coding instead.
Thank you for this series, as I have never got to level 3 before and now just got to aluminium with your help, so thank you, and I may now finish this game with a great deal of help from you.
I managed to complete the game (100% achievements) by this point, but there are two things I really regret. 1. Not building the main resource bus at the central base. I think this is the most organized way to scale up your production and evade the headache of runninng out of space. The optimal way to build the bus is 1 stack of convyor belts over and 1 under per single foundation. This way you can access it from both sides, and have also top and bottom side of foundation to work with. The reason why I thought I can go without the main bus was because the central storage is no longer needed (Since we have the dimensional storage now for personal use). 2. Automating the coupons earlier (Smart splitter + awesome sink). It took way too much time for me to buy the golden nut.
Yeah if you want the coupons then sinking overflow from the start is definitely the way to go. (as is slooping the remains of any creatures you kill along the way, that saves a LOT of time!)
Looking very nice. Re color-coding: do it. Anything that makes it easier to see at a glance is worthwhile. Even if everything on the train is the same, if someone comes back to it after a couple weeks break, much easier. I like having “generic” blueprints to keep things simple. I have been doing this with my latest DSP run, it feels better than having special blueprints for each production item. Much easier to organize.
@TheDutchActuary I'm confused - unless I missed something we never covered getting Copper Sheets into the train. It seemed obvious that we are meant to supply the train from the new copper factory, but when I do that I no longer make enough copper sheets to supply the Circuit Board factory. Did I miss something??
The copper sheet production in that earlier facility should be enough to cover both the circuit boards *and* the new facility. Double check the planner in the description of each episode for the specifics!
I'm hoping in 2-3 days you get to Rocket thingies and Prima Pasta, cause the first 2 of Phase 4 wasn't hard, nor trivial, it was still lots of work, even with BPs... If I can complete one Phase 4 item in 4-8 hrs, I call it a win, but lots of research and planning is involved too... videos like yours can truncate the research and implementation process, which I like to say ty (!)
@@TheDutchActuary Even if the hours of research and planning _is_ the game and pleasurable to me, having confirmatory evidence all that work's conclusion(s) is shared by another bright guy, is helpful. Otherwise, like our ancestors in Europe when they thought baths could unlive you, so they stayed irretrievably stinky beyond compare, I wonder who did the actual experiment and finally took a freakin' bath and disproved that universally "accepted best practice..." In some African countries, they use the pejorative phrase referring to us as "smells like flowers," when they smell irretrievably stinky. I had a H.S. student that came from Africa, Idr the country, and the kids where being mean to him because he was really stinky. So when I could, I took him aside, and told him in our culture, we have to smell like flowers. Next day: problem solved. High school kids never just told him to use soap or explain the cultural differences, they were all black or hispanic. Why, idk. I try to avoid walking around stinky, if I'm shown a better way, and then learn from that. That's why I never assume I know everything about anything, and check other ppl's approaches... and over and over I'm the better for it.
I think I may have missed something in one of the episodes....I'm making 2.5/m Adaptive Control Units, this build is asking for 8/m. Did it scale up at some point, or should I have been storing them?
I completely forgot to explain that! I just uploaded tomorrow's episode, but I will revisit this during the next one when we complete the other parts. Basically, yes, the storage is meant to keep the build going for several hours when you first complete it. After that, with a bit of smart slooping & overclocking you can upgrade the earlier build without having to re-do everything all over again (at that point you'll already be sitting on a stockpile of ADS though, so there's no rush in doing this).

Hello ! I LOVE your videos ! You help so much to not get overwhelmed which is something not easy in this game xD
Thank you very much
Very good series of video ! Thanks for sharing! I have just one thing to say, music is a bit loud and makes it hard to stay focus on ur voice
Great feedback! I might need to turn it down a bit in future video's then!
Great video, thanks

Perfect👍
Hey so a question after u finish everything will u give us a link to download ur world (save file)?
If there's an easy way to share that, sure! Thinking about setting up a discord, that might make it easier ;)
I really wish we could rename the color swatches.
Right?!

Working towards that for sure!

@@TheDutchActuary Thanks for the reply! This is the farthest I've ever gotten in this game, thanks to your well-explained build progression.
Hey! Zou je je blueprints willen delen?
