  • This time Brian takes you bike touring between two of europe's best capitals. Riding on the Prague to Vienna Greenways cycle path in the Czech Republic and on the Eurovelo 9. This is one of the oldest and most popular bike touring routes in Europe.
    Thanks to my sponsor Topeak for providing all the bags and gear. It really enhanced the bike packing experience. www.topeak.com/global/en/

    Thank you for showing us another part of the world. Love your style. We mainly stick to the south east here in the USA. It's so much fun to share the world with one another!

      I am originally from Florida. What routes do you reccommend in the South East? Biking in the Czech Republic is amazing...tons of bike trails every where. More than 5,000 miles and the country is pretty small. safe travels

    I did the Prague-Vienna Greenway last summer with Bicycle Touring Pro. We did in in about 6,5 days, so when I heard you thinking about doing it in 4 I thought you were in for a brutal awakening. Man, those first two days were really tough as I remembered it. Glad you decided to change your plans to do it in six days. Otherwise you might have killed poor Tomas. :-)

      Hey Mike! When i did all my research online it said the trial was 385km...that must have been just the Czech side. I had been riding +100km days regularly, but had not taken into account the extra weight and we did quite a bit of riding off pavement. It was a great trip! Let me know when you are back near Prague and maybe we can do ride. Safe Travels!

    Hi Brian, I seem to remember that you did the Camino del Norte recently on foot. I'd just like to comment that, if you are now getting into cycling, doing the "del Norte" by bicycle is possible and fun -- mostly even on the official paths (with a few exceptions). So maybe one day we'll see a video here with a long cycling trip through spain. Have fun, Ruediger

    • @TheTravelVlogger
      @TheTravelVlogger  4 роки тому

      Hi Ruediger! Yes, biking is my biggest passion and I would love to return and do the camino del norte by bike. Have you done it by bike? if so, how many days did it take you?

    • @RuedigerBerlich
      @RuedigerBerlich 4 роки тому

      @@TheTravelVlogger Yes, we (me and my daughter) did it by bicycle, starting in San Sebastian in August 2019. This has taken us about 3 weeks, with somewhere between 40-60 km / day, including some rest. Keep in mind that this is in the mountains and that we tried to stay on the Camino (rather than streets) as much as possible.

    Thank you for share your experience. I'm looking to do a similar route for this summer, but I hate to share road with traffic. so my questions are:
    - I's my impressive or near to Prague are plenty of cars?
    - The Eurevelo is by road o green path?
    - Are those bikes rend?
    Thank's

    Great video, looks like a real adventure! I am thinking about doing the same trip, however don't have a mountain bike only a road/gravel bike which currently has 28mm road tires but can fit 32mm off-road tires. Your video shows mainly tarmac, is that correct? Do you think it's possible to do the trip on a road bike with road tires or should I fit larger gravel tires? Or will it still not be possible with gravel tires? Would love to get your perspective!

    Have any of you gone that rout? I've never done anything like this so any advice would be appreciated.

      Oh man! I am jealous. Sounds like an awesome trip. This past summer, I biked from Prague to Salzburg and then to Vienna to finish the loop. Trip was so amazing, i accomplished my biggest goal yet. 1000km in 10 days...definitely not record breaking, but I did ride the mountain. I slept in a hammock with a tarp most of the time.
      However I want to warn you that from Salzburg south will be super cold this time of year. Also quite a bit of elevation...i would guess around 1500m/day. Good luck!

      I did München-Bologna through Innsbruck-Brennero-Bolzano-Trento-Verona. Actually I live in Berchtesgaden then from Salzburg you can drive in direction Traunstein and continue straight until Neubeuern. There use the Innradweg direction Kufstein until Innsbruck. From Innsbruck the Rute 182 until Brenner/Brennero. From the italian side there is a beautiful green road for bikes/footway until Verona (all signalized) (pista ciclabile Brennero-Bolzano-Verona). In Verona take the "Ciclovia del Sole" (EuroVelo 7) (tracks in the website www.bicitalia.org/it/bicitalia/gli-itinerari-bicitalia/58-bi1-ciclovia-del-sole) and you will arrive to Roma (I did until Bologna how I said). From Salzburg to Carinthia I haven't done, I don't have information about that

    This is a good video but fails to emphasize the amount of climbing involved... it is one small, 150 meter hill, after the other, all day long... I started it twice.... the good thing is that you can hop on a train at almost any point...

  • @RedHeadAgent

    Why did you jam all that riding into 5.5 short days? You need to enjoy the journey not just the destination. And then you didn't get to enjoy Vienna at all.
