This is a great yak! I bought one two months ago and love it! super stable, tons of storage options for your fishing gear and a great sitting position, height and comfort from the seat for all day fishing. a steal of a deal for $999!
I've seen Chad Hoover plugging Bonafide for a couple years now. Always seemed like great boats. Well now I'm shopping for a new yak after 2+ years of being yak-less, and holy cow I have to say Bonafide are probably at the top in terms of thoughtful design. I was probably going to order a Feelfree Moken this winter in order to have it delivered in time for spring. Those are great boats, but now I'm really thinking of spending the additional money for an RS117. Absolutely wonderful overview of this kayak, thanks!
That would make it complete for me, even centerline like the Hobie would work, maybe even better for Control. Thanks and I'll order the kayak as soon as we get it figured out
I would buy this but it looks really slow with that hull design.I think I will buy the Tarpon 120 even though the bonifide looks like a great deal its just not fast enough for my application.
Do they offer any Military discount? I really want one so I can bring my dog with me. I don’t trust my current kayak is stable enough to hold me ~200 lbs plus a 70 lbs German shepherd/pitbull mix
How good will this yak fit onto the standard Malone seawing rack for transport? I think it will really fit the bill for my kayak fishing needs and for the price I dont think it can be beat. Im planning on visiting Hook1 soon to get hands on with one.
With the Hybrid Catamaran Hull featured on the Bonafide SS Series and the RS117 the traditional v shaped roof rack and sport trailer attachments aren't the best fit. If you are using a trailer long bunks like you would see with a standard boat or jet ski work the best. For the roof rack the SS and RS sit flat on the crossbars. Padded crossbars would be a good cheap alternative.
Hey Kyle, Yes, the RS117 does pretty well in river current up. A lot of RS owners fish rivers and absolutely love using the RS117. The RS is a great mix of versatility, price and features. If you are going to be doing a whole bunch of river fishing, take a look, check out the RVR119 here: bonafidefishing.com/pages/rvr-119 . Hope this helps!

Mark Streight I know it’s a bit late, but as far as fishing kayaks go, this one has a nice speed.

@@bonafidefish Sounds like pool noodles to the rescue once again
is it power pole ready with those screw points in the back?
The RS117 is not Power Pole ready.
Can you mount a bow mount trolling motor to the front?
Can this kayak handle river current

Does this yak come with a paddle?
It does not.
Bonafide Kayaks :(
Are the scuppers big enough to put a power pole in.(whats the width of the scupper)
The scuppers would be wide enough, but we don't recommend it.
Can you mount a Torquedo on the back?
It isn't designed around the Torqeedo but could be done.
Please ship some of these to Michigan...i will throw money at you! ;)
2023 and still No Rudder kit. Maybe remove it from your features if you're never going to release it.
