Michael Walsh: Can the Irish Diaspora help save Ireland from Itself?

  • Michael Walsh is a screenwriter, author and longtime music and international correspondent with Time Magazine. He is a White House insider and regularly contributes to PJ Media and the National Review. He joins me to talk about what he calls 'the racket' or the media, NGO and Irish government cabal that's slowly destroying the nation. We assess what role, if any, the Irish-American diaspora can play in saving Ireland.

Our politicians talk about everyone BUT the Irish, who they are supposed to serve. If it's not the Palestinians, it's a mad surge looking for accommodation for migrants. I have never read an article in the paper about them trying to find housing for the homeless. ☘

You're right Mary. The disconnect between the political class - all of them - and the electorate is the greatest it's been in my life by a long way. The do not feel in any way beholden to voters.

That would make too much sense it would never be allowed. We've been bullied into the earth like so many before us. Pray this could happen like we prayed before. ❤😊. Peace be with you. God Bless all in this house. Amen.

Not looking very good at all John. At this particular moment, it looks like major change can only be forced through external shock.

Economic collapse might help. No jobs. No welfare.

    • @EoinLenihan
      @EoinLenihan  День тому +6

All major periods of political change in Irish history - since the foundation of the state - have occurred because of economic hardship or collapse. Dev coming in in 1932 after stagnation, Dev out after his protectionist economy collapsed leading to the EU & FDI economy. The 2010 collapse opening the door for leftists. Another collapse is coming and the right wing needs to be in a position to take advantage, otherwise it's business as usual after the collapse.

This is tragic. It’s also something I hear a lot. It seems that Waterford, more than any other city, has been completely transformed.

Vote the pols, who do not put the native Irish first, out of office; get ride of them. In their enclaves they are secure and like to play saviors without knowing what they are doing or what the consequences of diversity that causes division and sinks the native population with their demands. Ireland is a small island country not the U.S. which is a continent. The U.S. needed to be filled, other than necessary work that the educated Irish have moved on from, people coming in to stay should be limited.
It is ironic that a person who was born in Ireland and wants to retire there has to have a high income to be accepted back. So once you’ve left you cannot go back except temporarily to spend your dollars.

The Irish who started as outsiders in the U.Sl, their descendants are now the insiders and are doing to the outsiders what the insiders did to them. That may be the source of the estrangement between the Irish in Ireland and the Irish Americans. The Irish now see the Irish Americans a pseudo Protestants. The prisoners have identified with their captors. I think it is called Stockholm Syndrome.

It is also interesting that though Ireland has become prosperous for the most part emigration has not slowed but kept up the same pace. Either the Irish like to emigrate or the country is not meeting their needs; economic; intellectual; or spiritual.

Its THAT makes us proud to be Irish. Not the disgrace thats long being going on here. But our children sporadically going off and making a good life for themselves. Because there was nothingvhere. Just us.❤😊

Eoin every Irish person should listen to this conversation. The Irish have lost the sense that this man is trying to put across and the "awake" ones often wonder what's wrong with ppl. He lays it out perfectly

That's kinda cute. Cork. So Irish. Answers that question to about irish naievity. Literally innocent. Send out eonderful children though. Who integrate. Who become great but little ruffles at home. Here in Ireland. Always corruption above the people. The patriots are not that way minded towards our family and friends overseas. A norm in Ireland. We proud of them. ❤😊

Thanks lads for a great interview. The only way that Irish people are allowed to be patriotic these days is by following the international soccer or rugby teams, whose organisations, including the GAA are completely on board with the establishment in pushing the woke narrative. The authenticity of these international teams has been diluted by having many foreign players on the teams which serves the narrative and dilutes the sense of identity of those following them.
Its made sport very hollow for me.
Wheras if you waved an Irish flag protesting the destruction of our people and our children's future, you'd be called a racist and a low class person for doing so.
We're running out of time, fast.

During the Troubles certain groups were supported and armed from abroad for "the cause". There's precedent and thete are plenty of Irish Americans who wholeheartedly embrace their Second Amendment rights that I'm sure are only willing to help the indigenous Irish... Again.
