This amp could do double-duty as a welder. Man that's a lot of juice!
Damn that amp pushes a lot. Great to see amp test Tuesday, really miss these videos
Well done Steve. These amps are criminally awesome.
Thank you so much for resurrecting amp test Tuesday
Mean build Mr. Meade! Cant wait for the finished product!
Thank you Steve for the new updates.
Its been about 4 months since the last amp test. Keep em comin Steve!
STEVE! You should definitely re-test this amp with the batteries in the car! The power would be crazy!
Thanks for the videos! Can't wait to see the Toyota all done and on the Dyno!
Happy days! ATT back in the mix Thanks Steve :) :) :)
Awesome amp test Tuesday! Goes to show the power of the dyno and why the pro's like you have these sorts of tools to measure and ensure that you're getting the most out of your system.
Amp yest Tuesday! Awesome totally didn't expect it. Thanks Steve.
Excellent demo!
Listen to how quiet the shop was, lol. Non the less, still a really cool UA-cam channel!
can't wait to get mine!
That car is going to sound amazing
fav day of week. thats some killer numbers...wow. i need to research how you got your name on the bench test unit everyone in the game uses. RESPECT homie
Wow. It is not everyday I hear ballast resistors chirp :-) What a beast!
Killer vid. DC makes a sweet amps!
I'm pretty impressed by that certified run. It is one thing to make big power, it's another to do it with low distortion. :)
Most impressive run!
Almost 12k in dynamic RMS (1ohm).. That's some serious power!
Next let's get Chicken's caddy and test the Rockford Fosgate T15k out!
This is going to be epic
Holy heck, you know it's some serious power when you have that much coil and capacitor whine/buzz going on. That's crazy. The voltmeter shows all.
I knt wait to hear that hoopty hit so dam hard... !!!!!gna b loud and proud!!!!!big Steve!!!!!
IT'S OVER 9000!!!!!!!
So sick bra awesome video!!!
That is awesome results from the DC amp on that power. You figure each D1600 is good for 1500 watts each, so they are giving that amp all they have and still holding on pretty damn good. 4,500 watts of battery power for a 10K+ watt amp.
umm you got real life experience in my car lol.. they stay at 11v when im at full tilt.. ;)
Good video!
JEREMY HERE, I BELIEVE THAT THE DC AUDIO AMP IS TRUE TO ITS COMPANY NAME AND THE PEOPLE THAT BUY IT, IT ALWAYS BEST TO BUY AN AMP THAT OUT DOES ITS SELF.
Amazin dude that amplifier is very good to a loud bass rigth
Whoa.. that's a lot of power. Now I'm interested in seeing what the Kicker Warhorse can put out.
That amp dyno is awesome. I have personally clamped over 27k (yes 27000 watts) out of a pair of these 9ks. With a totall of 4 9k's and 2 woofers in one vehicle. These amps are beasts very well made
DC AUDIO YOU ROCK
Btw love your channel ur videos are very entertaining
Impressive amp!!!
well done DC Audio....
hey steve when the sytem is done do no t forget to do another dyno test but with the amps hooked on the car so it would show the diference that the amp does when is properly instaled
Luv me sum amp test Tuesday!
Hey Bro! I like Car Audio very much! What you do with very high expencive equipment is very interesting for me. I am from Austria, and here are nobody with so damn expencive sound equip. Only at some car meetings few people have around 2-4000 Watts, its nothing to you.
I respekt your work, and like your Videos - anyway, such an equipment in my car still was a dream..
(Sorry for my bad english)
Greetings from Austria! :)
This ought to show the difference power supply upgrades can make. You can compare the choked power from the test stand to what you can get with a full bank of batteries and plenty of alternator power.
That amp is a monster sheesh
Very nice and impressive, even with the test rig you have. cannot wait for your further build videos. But will it beat the Tahoe?
Damn. Can wait to see
I think it would be cool if you made removable cables from your truck that you could hook up to the test bench, that way you could give it alt power, or build some contraption to have alts powering the amp rack, that would be sweet
Damn. That is some real deal shit you got there. Nice!!!!
Holy shit man that's fucking crazy dude awesome video bro I wish I could buy one of those god bless you meade
Loving these videos. Would also looooove to see you test the new American bass Phantom 2000. I just bought that one ^_^ wanna see how it really does. I hear all the time that American bass is way under rated, but I gotta see it.
This amp test Tuesday is cool. Especially with that bad ass testing equipment! I don't know if you've tested the RE, or Audiopipe amps? I've been curious how they are, being newer and cheap
steve you really need to think about running a bank of super caps for you test bench that would be badass
Damn that amp will be a monster once having all the energy supplied !!
I lost but i hope someone elses wins the subs or hat (:
Good luck !! :D
And nice video steve it impressed me to see 3 batteries handle that much of a powaa .
Do this amp again Steve with your set up now and all the other big boy amps like it
Oh Ya !
You did it.
Just one thing to say: DC Audio FTW!!!
Nice work Steve. I enjoy the inner geek that says what the hell does it really do. I would like to see some cost to benefit factors tested more. As in I have these 2 tens in this car and I slap amp a in for x dollars and sweep for db's. Rinse and repeat for amp b and so on. The reason I say this is that pep's are all about the amp that squeezed out 56 more watts yet do they even hear a difference. Sure if 1 amp is putting out 150 and the other 200. Most bass heads are going to be looking at less than 1 db difference when jumping from 1 amp to another given that they are rated to be close to the same anyway.
For instance put a SoundQubed 1200 up against a DC 1.2k. The difference in their respective outputs will be negligible at best. So you buy for build quality, features, looks, or cost. I am all for finding the bang for the buck. Perhaps torture test the amps and see which breed takes the beating longest.
Chea...
Best channel on youtube
Good stuff man. What are you planning to hold up the suspension in the rear? If anything at all lol
Mr Meade nice testing done there.
Would be nice if you ever could use a hybrid car, like a Hybrid Tahoe or escalade.
Even though those batteris are 300v, thinking you are the most experience i known.
Maybe you could make a mod to squeeze 18v out of the 300v hybrid batteries.
nice. im in the process of snagging another dc 5k, running a pair of them in my monte ss. would love to take a ride out to your shop sometime just for the hell of it....but im in PA, lol. itll take a while
That is insane.
holy shit that is a huge amp
i run my amp on a 18.5volt 20amp power supply i built never gets hot or any thing and it makes my sub kit good
It would be great if you could test the new American Bass VFL 4480.1 hybrid series amp, curious about the efficiency of that style
If you don't mind can you please test a Mmats 3000.1. Would be appreciated.
Steve it would just make my day if you put some power acoustik amps up to the test. they set pretty high expectations for their amps and sell for pretty cheap as far as amps go. I have 2 Power Acoustik Gothic 3500 amps and i honestly dont think they put out the RMS power that is stated. Im more curious about their demon series amp though. So if you could find time in your day to test some then that would just make my day :)!!
Not sure if I missed it or not ,do one of those Rockford fosgates 2500-1 bdcp power amps, thanks
This is a newbie question for you I don't understand how amplifiers can use all the power cable handling of these 2/0 cables when you get inside component wires all appear to be smaller than 12 gauge or 10 gauge. And how does all that juice flow through that tiny little filament inside my 300 amp fuse?
What about "THE ONE" from Phoenix Gold??? Have you tested that meade916?
From what I've heard it pulls 750amps at 14.4v and accepts 16v batteries.
So the 9k did less then rated at 14 volt on certified ? Ad for dynamic well and audiopipe does twice almost 3 times rated on dynamic. I'm confused
Steve since you upgraded your setup will you be doing another test on the 9k
Can you test the Crown amplifiers you have in your shop stereo?
Holy fuck!! :-) almost 12k. No joke... Dang
You can hear the charger screaming for help. Lol!
Nice run...any chance u could run a Lanzar OptiDrive 7K and an Incriminator Audio 80.1 thru there?
RC batteries would be perfect for these dyno tests. For about $400 you could build a 4S4P pack of turnigy A-spec and have an easy 20kw to play with.
Also, a dyno run on a Behringer iNuke would be awesome.
Any way u look at it... Beast
hi steve i was wondering if u could please test the power acoustic bamf 5500 please im sure it is over rated but i was wondering about how much it was if you do not mind helping me out thank you for you time
what subwoofers would you use for these I want two of them in a caprice think I can fit them in. how many batteries would I need
Got a amp too test. The Autotek mean machine mono amp. Back in the day they where good amps. Time change so would like to see what they would do now.
could you do a test on crescendo amps want to know what they do with enough power
What are those arcing like sounds that happen when the voltage drops a lot on the certified and uncertified runs, and then also on every hit in the dynamic run?
I believe it was the Honey Badger indicating the amplifier reached distortion. I think the top red LED on the left and right side of the unit means distortions then you can see it backs down in the center gauge.
Can you test an amplifier that is not car audio on that amp dyno? pro audio amplifier?
Sick shit Steve, dem amps r hungry 4 more voltage...
SSL Evo amp test please! I bought a Evo 4k of course its not 4k but I belive its pushing ever last lick of 1000wrms. Compared to my old Alpine Mrp650 it seems to hav almost twice the power.
can you run 14 volt alt with 16 volt batteries or is there something special has to be done.
you should test one of those new rockford pbr500x1 amps
how good is this PA1.5000D amp from soundstream thanks.
Badass amp!! It sucks that we cant have these in Finland :/
geometricpatterns6 LOL! no, but here is not dc audio dealers near by and it will be too expensive to order from different country...
I'm not sure if you will still reply to this thread Steve meads but I have a 2014 Nissan Altima and I have a 250 amp aftermarket alternator and was looking to upgrade my system next year to 2 level 5 dc audio 15's with a dc audio 5 k amp with a xs power 7500 d battery my question is this will running more batteries allow you to handle more power? Because i thought about running 2 250 amp alternators but I was told that might mess my computer up on my car so i was wandering what the best thing I could do your help would be appreciated.
I wanna see a taramps hd mono amp dyno, why hasn't anyone done a dyno on one of these
hehehe... first time I see the dyno temp rise that fast ! Those are big numbers... speaking of big numbers, have you ever dyno your crown xti 4000 ?
good amp
What should the amperage on the 2 upgraded alternators be?
Steve, I would like to see a stetsom tested, I think we all know why :) It would be nice to see if it can do the numbers with a good THD.
Hey, can you tell me what's the model number on that pioneer head unit please?
Meade916 I been keeping up with your work...I have a 2001 chevy 1500 extended cab and I wanna run 4 12 type r.. do you have any suggestions on what two good reasonable amps I could run with the most bang for my buck? What are your thoughts on Crescendo audio bc 35000
That's radddddd
first. Yessirr..
I think it would be awesome if you did some of the Optidrive amps from Lanzar. Specifically the 7k, because I've seen many people run them but im not sure if they put out the power they say they do.
Chris Peden nowadays they are hifonics, precision power and audiopipe grade amps, not even close the shadow of what they used to be.
HighSchoolBassHead I own a Opti Drive7000.1D and I Clamped around 3500 watts wired at 1ohm rising to around 2.3 ohms on one battery and a200 amp alternator dropping to around 11.5 volts and its rated 7k at .5.
Sooo yes they do rated power
Your attention to detail is amazing ! Your installs are just super clean and it's really enjoyable to watch you install systems .
