This comment probably went over the heads of most who read it but I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. And I'd be willing to bet that, if it does pass, there will be an exception made for second citizenship regarding one country in particular. After all, they're the exception to every American rule and to every American law. No American state has laws forbidding me from boycotting products of any American company but 33 states and counting have laws prohibiting the boycott of products from "THAT" country.
Dual citizenship should not be used when you are a politician/public servant. That is a huge conflict of interest. It should be suspended while they are in office.
Public servant is a huge category including janitors in public schools who would have no conflict whatsoever. It is also impossible to “suspend” dual citizenship. People who are dual citizens do not necessarily have dual loyalty and the only proper restriction would be the exact same way we deal with any potential conflict of interest, that being to require them to declare their second citizenship and recuse themselves on voting on issues or exercising discretion over matters dealing with that country.
@@drmadjdsadjadi that would be great if they recused themselves and announced that citizenship. But come on. We're talking about corrupt governments. As far as the janitors being public servants, I understand what you're saying. They are public servants. I am mainly talking about politicians and emphasizing that they are public servants!! I still stand that no 'politician' should have dual citizenship. Especially not with our corrupt government.
That is fine, so long as (1) we are only talking about politicians and other politically appointed officials as opposed to people who are merely working in the government, and (2) politicians must attempt to renounce their other citizenship but if the other country does not accept the renunciation, they will be allowed to keep their dual citizenship with the understanding that they will recuse themselves. You need to understand that you can be granted dual citizenship via birth and not be allowed to renounce it, so we really should not allow other countries to hold us hostage by refusing to allow renunciation or, even worse, decide to unilaterally “grant” citizenship just to prevent people from serving our country - I can imaging North Korea just deciding to unilaterally grant our politicians North Korean citizenship just to mess with us (and yes, legally, they could do exactly that because we cannot force other countries to revoke citizenship or even prevent them from granting citizenship on their own just because they want to do so even if the person who is being granted citizenship does not want it.
The privileges you enjoy having dual citizenship; includes access to the social services programs and systems of two countries. You can also vote in local elections and may be able to run for office in either country. Moreover, you can work in either country without work permits or visas. You can attend universities in either country at the tuition rate offered to citizens, as opposed to the higher tuition rate often applied for foreign students.
As a Venezuelan born in the 90s (post oil-golden era for that country), I know first hand what he means when he says it’s important to have options. I saw how my mother and her siblings were unable to get their second citizenship by descent from Trinidad and Tobago, once things got terribly bad in my country. My grandparents had both US residency and Caribbean citizenship, but because things were going so well in Venezuela in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, they didn’t work on securing and passing along those other options; and their children never thought things would get this bad. It only took less than 30 years to see things turn around for the worst.
Wow thanks for your sharing insightful perspective. I knew a gentleman some years ago from Venezuela originally from Poland and he told stories of the prosperity and stability of the country before Chavez but then i remember having hope for the poor people and thought he would be good.. it doesn’t work out that way does it..

First time in my life I thought about leaving Australia permanently. It's still in my mind. As big as this country is, it's turning into a New World Order state FAST.
Unfortunately that's because the vast majority of your population lives in roughly the same region. As big as Australia is, the population isn't spread out much. Whether you leave or not, I wish you well in your new police state for the NWO in the meantime.
Can’t let the slaves leave the plantation. The most egregious part is they are calling people who don’t want to be devoured by greedy politicians “traffickers” to fool the plebs into thinking this is to fight drug trafficking. So rather than leave, people who want to keep their freedom will have to fight for it. A political body that surrounded itself with national guard and a big fence when a few idiots stormed the Bastille might want to rethink that bill (they’re not dealing with docile Canadians here).
@Joe Barone the abuse at the hands of our political “elites” has just begun. We’ll know they are reaching the people’s limit of endurance when political assassinations return (we had those in the past). Uncle Joe just said we should expect food shortages, starving plebs are properly unhappy plebs.

I had been an expatpat for over 27 years of my life and did tested the fact that we were dual tracks as Americans wear everywhere else we were not. Dual citizenship is a right. But still the issue that we have legal loopholes where corporations pay zero tax that is a crime and that’s what we should be going after
What you fail to understand is corporations don't pay taxes. They collect taxes from those that buy their goods and services. Only people pay taxes. Yo a corporation, paying taxes is simply a cost of doing business, lije raw materials or employee wages. If you impose or raise taxes on a corporation, they simply raise the price of what they sell and you end up paying the tax. That's basic Econ 101. I wish more people were economically literate. Governments impose taxes on corporations as a slight of hand. Citizens then blame companies for high prices as opposed to the government.
I'm an American living in Thailand. I have been in Thailand for 15 years mostly on visa runs but the Thai government put a stop to that about 3 years ago so I had to get a retirement visa. They make it so hard that you have to hire someone to do everything for you. They have just recently added a 10 year visa but if I understand it correctly you have to put $80,000.00 in a bank and you can't touch it until your 10 years are up. If I had a spare $80,000.00 I probably wouldn't be living in Thailand. They also announced a visa for investment in a business, there are some stipulations and I'm not sure what it is but I do know you have to invest a significant amount of money and you can only own 49 percent of the business. I do not always agree with your line of thinking but I believe you are right about having options and how these are becoming more limited and difficult to obtain. Countries, regardless of our emotional attachments, are no more than corporations and citizens are inventory. This is why these national corporations feel entitled to a significant share of our income, gains, gifts, property, rents, and royalties. It is difficult to describe it in any other way as enslavement. However, the additional passport is not a get out of jail free card, it is just another instrument of control (jurisdiction) that you adopt; so choose carefully because some countries are more predatorial than others. You also have to think about cultural congruency with your values and the tax by marriage or divorce that can drive you insane, deprive you of your freedom or cost you your life.
This is very true, and so important. There's an old saying to the effect that you really don't have to figure people out. If they're serious and worth worrying about, they'll tell you exactly who they are. If politicians are talking about something, it means they want to do it and if they want to do it bad enough, they'll find a way. It won't be today or tomorrow or even next month or next year.... but it's coming. Of that, you can be certain. Listen and heed warnings! As Andrew says - better years too early than a day too late.
@Joe Barone I'm not sure it'll take the form of a lockdown; that might be a bit too gratuitous, but I have no doubt they will find some way to grab more power and exert more control and that would be the perfect excuse to do it. I'd be watching for the graduated approach. It's much more subtle and easier to deny until one day.... well.....
@Joe Barone You are absolutely correct. 2020 was a dry run, to test out what would work and what would not. Next run will incorporate lessons learned. Lots of us did not stay home, so the control of energy will for sure be implemented.
Rich people in America are not paying a lot of taxes in the US anyway, but this guy talked about like we are living in a type of socialist country. Let me be clear, I am not against the citizenship for investment program, but there are probably not any new taxes he needs to be worried about. However, there are others reasons why having second citizenship may be a good idea.
What if a US citizen in Ukraine right now decides to join one of the militaries that are fighting and get citizenship that way of a new country. Could they then renounce their US citizenship right after getting the passport of their new country?
You have to renounce at a US Embassy (and it costs money, of course). You can choose not to renew your US passport, but you are still a citizen and technically subject to US global taxation and reporting requirements.
Current USA laws state that I could not have dual citizenship. I was told that if I wanted to join the Israeli Army that the moment I assumed the oath of Israeli citizenship that my American citizenship would no longer be valid and I would have to apply for a Visa to visit the USA as I foreign national, and Israel and the USA are allies.

It depends on what you mean. Easiest to get as an American? Allows you yo come back to the US without a visa?.... Id say ur best option is a European citizenship by descent. So if one of your parents, a grandparent, and in some cases a great grandparent were Italian, Greek, Irish, German, and a few others, you qualify for this citizenship. Though you need the documents. After that, if you have the money, Caribbean passports by investment, since they give you visa free travel to the EU. A lot of Caribbean countries offer citizenship by descent as well(Mexico does too), so doublecheck that if your family comes from an island nation. Finally, latin America is your best option if you don't have the wealth or the DNA. In this instance you will want to get a fully remote job that allows you to work outside of the US. From there you have a handful of options. But, Argentina is the fastest at two years. Also, if you're about to have a baby do it in Mexico or Brazil. Taxing every citizen rich or poor equitably will solve all your money problems. Close all tax loopholes. Question: Do these politicians have the guts and conviction to do it?
It is about time that the US citizenship taxation was challenged on 5th amendment grounds. Taxation is taking private property. The 5th amendment specifies two conditions for allowing this: (1) It must be for a public purpose (i.e. no private favours), (2) There must be just compensation for the property taken. Redistribution violates both conditions. Taking property on citizenship basis regardless of residency manifestly fails the "just compensation" test.
Taxation is the owner of property removing it from a custodian. US citizens are mere custodians of property, and furthermore US citizens are not afforded constitutional rights; those rights belong to the people, and to the People of these united (e)states of America. US Citizens are subjects of the Vatican's municipality in Washington D.C., which is a foreign State to The United States of America. It is run under the Roman Civil Law, as opposed to Common Law, which is the law of the land in America.

Dual citizenship should not be used when you are a politician/public servant. That is a huge conflict of interest. It should be suspended while they are in office.
Agreed.
I still stand that no 'politician' should have dual citizenship. Especially not with our corrupt government.
@@theRRstation the treat comes from the huge predators owning nuclear power and dominating the world by force and more.

The U.S. does Not recognize such a thing as an “EU Citizen”. Brussels unfortunately promotes this misnomer. Each European country is treated individually at the State Department and it’s usually about the income level of the country and not its membership in an international organization such as the EU, UN, NATO, the IOC or the Red Cross
The EU citizenship applies only in the EU. It means you can live anywhere in the EU.
You're off the mark. The Visa waiver program applies to all EU countries and waives the Visa requirement. This was negotiated.
You are wrong, the EU negotiated it has a block.
The US may not recognize the term “EU citizen” but EU countries do recognize it, because it’s explicitly in the EU treaties. As a EU citizen, if I’m abroad I can get consular assistance/protection from any EU member embassy/consulate if if my original country is not represented. I can go to North Korea of all places and still have assistance, because Poland and Sweden have embassies there.
I’m grateful and fortunate i have all my research and paperwork in order for Italian citizenship but it so far seems impossible to get an appointment at the consulate. But moving to Mexico anyway.

Honestly, this country has forgotten what democracy is expected to be....

It's much more subtle and easier to deny until one day.... well.....
@Joe Barone No, it's war. Happening right now. No traditional rationale for it.
@@hughjass1044 No it's war, just like it was in 2001.

Thank you for sharing this information,
I’m an American and born here and both my children have dual citizenship of their fathers country I don’t see what the big deal is
US has a golden visa as well called EB-5
Recently Some changes were made to the EB5 program I think, also it was suspended for some time
Being a dual citizen is awesome!
Andrew, that throw blanket on your sofa. Care to reveal where it was purchased from. Brought some nice ones from Ireland
@@georgerivera9220 Thanks so the information. Let's assume you joined the Israeli armed forces and has a new life there in Israel and never desired to return to Transgenderland - USA. Losing such a citizenship by default is a good thing. That would be a good thing.
@@georgerivera9220 The US permits multiple passports, as does Israel. In fact about 10% of Israelis are dual nationals. There are many Americans volunteering in the IDF right now. There are members of past and current US governments (including elected officials) who are dual nationals. The list is Israeli-American dual nationals is really, really long and has been so since the founding of Israel (Golda Meir was an American Israeli for instance). I think that this honestly makes it fair for those who aren't wealthy to gain citizenship. It irks me to no end when as I working at the airport I'd ask people for their passport and the reason for their trip and they didn't speak a word of English. So just because you got money you basically don't have to follow the protocols.
You may have anger issues, most of those wealthy foreigners living in the USA pay a big share of your salary, -public servant
@@youngfox8017 Somebody pays somebody’s salary all the time. What’s that got to do with it.
So speaking the native language of the country you're visiting should be a basic protocol? Many Americans will suffer more from this if it becomes a universal requirement since Americans are not multilingual.
@@takearight.
It's connected in some way. Rich foreigners come to the USA and spend money on local businesses. Businesses hire local workers. Workers get their salary from the businesses they work for. Without visitors that spend money there won't be any businesses that hire local workers. You only have 2 choices. Be tolerant of foreigners that don't speak your language or be jobless, broke, and homeless?
@@iloveplumpgrannies174 You didn't understand anything I wrote. The protocols I am speaking of are:
1-In order to become American citizen (if you're not rich) you have to read and write english.
2-Rich people bypass this by making investments. They don't even have to take the citizenship test.

Andrew, what are best Plan B passports for an American? What are the benefits to having 3 Passport portfolio? I really enjoy your content. Thank you.
He has made many videos on the subjects you are enquiring about.
That gets you on the fast track to citizenship in those places (two years and one year respectively). Finally, you want as many as you can reasonably get in my opinion. We're living through crazy times and you never know what can happen. Keep watching Andrew and check out the website sovereignman as well. They have a ton of great info on this stuff. Best of luck!

What can be more fundamental to the "Land of the Free" than the right to leave it or renounce your citizenship?
"I don't know Putin." Andrew, I love your Trump impersonation! You made me laugh so hard.
Australia was on to this 10 years ago. But Australia has always been a police state.
I really just want to leave the US because I don't like the politics or the fisical policy. I don't want to pay into this system anymore.
Actually its the same in other countries also the government in usa shouldn't have dual citizenships because the government in usa is not a good leader
in think in general, dual or triple citizenship should be allowed. But for people in public service, it should not be allowed.
When you have money they make it as hard as possible to get rid of, but when you commit a crime you're not their problem anymore, get rid of their passport.
