I had a '95 GSR, red exterior and black interior from 1998-2011...I wish I had never sold the car! It has had several owners since I sold it, and at some point a few years ago was totaled out but then salvaged and it's still being driven around town. I have recurring dreams of buying it back 😊 This is bringing back so many memories!
What a beautiful premium example of the power of dreams! This channel and tyson hugie’s keep me inspired to refresh my completely stock 97 GSR. love seeing these cars being so loved
3 months ago my 2000 Acura Integra GS got totalled. Mine was the same color inside and out. Now I'm parting it out. This is brining back the memories of that car. That car got me into the car scene and was taken in a matter of seconds. What hurts the most is I restored it, built it how I wanted and only had a few more things left on the build and couldn't finish. This video has me at mixed emotions. Thanks for delivering killer Acura Honda content
Always wanted one of these GSR models, but never had a chance to buy one when Acura was producing them. The engine/ transmission/ chassis combination was so superb for it's day.
I'm with Mike! 100% OEM all the way at any cost on all my Acura/Honda vehicles. Great work AHC. I really enjoy your channel and outstanding content👍🏻🇺🇸
What a Gem. I had a black 95 Gsr all original back in 06. This car brings back so many great memories. Best Honda channel out there. Keep up the great Videos
Had a 96 Integra RS with the same color. Glad to still be in the Honda game, but I do miss the DC some days. That car opened up the world of Motorsport to me.
I’m right there with you Mike , it’s all about the OEM spec 👍🇦🇺🇺🇸. Absolutely love the channel guys. AHC Garage and LHT Performance, best Honda channels on UA-cam hands down. Thanks for the videos.
This is so awesome, I have a 97 gsr with the same color exterior and interior. I like the subtleness of OEM but also enjoy the tastefulness of aftermarket parts. My solution would be to have 2 Integra lol but I'll keep the OEM crave on my Legend
OEM looks great for the most part, but I’ve always thought Integras look amazing with tasteful mods. The mods that were on this one were done really well. I would have left the suspension mods. That DC Sports strut bar was their titanium version I believe. If so, it weighs roughly 1lb and does a great job. I just hope this car doesn’t end up for sale with the comment, ”all OEM and never been modded”.
We had plenty of tastefully modded Integra, going back to stock can bring back memories. If you have been following us, flipping cars and profiting from the cultures aren’t what we all about
Very familiar with those screw hole tabs holding the shift boot in place. Mine have been halfway broken with epoxy on them for like 20 years now. I just redid the epoxy the week before CHD7 along with a brand new OEM shift boot. Also interesting to see the silver exhaust heat shield. I thought they were all black. Now I feel better about my recently silver painted heat shield looking correct.
96 gsr 1 yr wheel. Always felt on the green Acura should’ve gave interior option. Tan or Black interior. Car looks good. Wasn’t a tan interior fan. Glad my sonic gsr have the very rare grey leather interior for 98. All Gsr I could remember either had black or tan leather in the 2 door hatches
Agreed, giving a black/Ebony interior option for Cypress Green would be nice. But fast forward to today, this tan interior does gives it a nice retro touch. Don't get us started on the Super Sonic Blue, we love that color regardless of interior :-)
@@ahcgarage Totally agree. I’d love to see one day y’all get a hold of a super sonic for y’all channel. You think the S2000 will return. I need suspension work done big time. All stock suspension with 235k
Enjoy you guys video. Especially the refurbished of the silver Acura TL Type S. Really wanted one when it was first new but couldn’t afford it at the time.
Glad this video helps you with your project. We will have 4 more videos coming in the coming weeks, and we will be covering some very interesting areas.
You really have me second guessing the next phase of stuff I’m doing to my db8, stock is looking good! I noticed the front signals are all orange, looks to be aftermarket maybe? I have a few sets of the factory clear / amber combo front turn signals. Let me know if you want a set to make the front 94-97 correct, I’ll dig them out for you.
We were able to pick up a set from Steve at HMO. Thanks very much for the offer, that's very kind and certainly will take on your offer if we didn't have a set. To your point, those aftermarket full amber lights have to go :-)
Should’ve kept it OEM plus, kinda like it more with the SEIBON hood and rear LCA set up. I think you may have forgotten to preload the suspension before impacting all the bolts back together.
i did the same project to a pearl green one but the thing smelled so bad in a way that i couldn't get rid of. it gave me headaches. no exhaust leaks but it just smelled like chemicals all the time. had to sell it after months of failed diagnostics
Another awesome Saturday! I see the missing EM1 next to the Integra while you were removing the rear suspension..LOL… Shouldn’t the GSR muffler come with a slant tip? Hope you guys will do a black interior conversion. The tan is meh.
Part ways with the dc header back exhaust? Would need it shipped. Also I have factory suspension out of my 95 GSR, not sure if it’s any good it came extra with the car.
I know what you mean. I used to say “stock sucks” all the time 20 years ago and now I find these videos so cathartic. I think it is also about preserving the past for us “enthusiasts “ Who know certain vehicles just will never be made the same way if at all ever again.
@@ahcgarage I am not certain if the intention is to keep that GSR stock for years to come or if that is just a state it will be in temporarily… But if I were going to be putting all those stock components back in, I would at least have them refinished or in the case of that stock exhaust manifold powder coated or something… Everything looks so rashed up and beaten.
@@raver208 That's an interesting point. 2 issues with the exhaust manifold shield. First, it's no longer available. Second, it's very hard to replicate the original metal/aluminum finish from powder coating or refinishing/polishing. We are pretty picky and honestly the original shield is still in decent condition.
Wouldn't it have made sense to remove the exhaust system while you already had the control arms, brace and anti-roll bars out, rather than putting the stock suspension back in then taking the exhaust system out?
Off topic, Im lookin at a automatic 2007 Acura TL Type-S, with 148k miles, for $13,000. Previous owner installed a aftermarket K&N air filter that's in decent shape. 0 Rust underneath vehicle, and I saw the new timing belt when I checked it out in person but couldn't see the starter and others.. Risky or good enough?
I own a 1994 Integra GSR. It is stock except for a Yonaka cat back exhaust that I bought 3 years ago to replace the original exhaust. I absolutely hate that cat back. It drones constantly. I am looking for a recommendation for a replacement exhaust that would it back to stock or nearly stock. I really want to keep my Integra stock as I believe that is where the value lies in these classic cars. Can you help me out?
The DC Sports Cat-Back sounds great without much drone. Yet Apex-i World Sport 2 is my best suggestion. Great looking muffler pan, well designed, period corrected and very quiet.
If you guys get paid to do these stock build from Honda, then you guy’s are living your childhood’s dream. Great job 👍🏽

We ended up finding the original shifter cover at the bottom carpet portion of the passenger front seat. It was parts everywhere haha

Something about the stock Oem look.
Super facts that Carbon Hood looks nice on teggies
Where did you find an unmolested GSR? And gotta love those 90s dealer add-on pin stripes.
