Brian Connoly is not a great front man, he just stands there he does not really interact with the crowd if you're a good front man you need to interact with the crowd you know find that one person that's not getting off on your show and make them get off. Now I'm not saying that Brian Connolly can't sing, he does that quite well he just needs to interact more with his band and more with the crowd. it's a shame he won't be able to do that now ,maybe the guys up in heaven will teach him. Hey you know if there's a rock and roll heaven you know they got a hell of a band, and what he doesn't know they'll teach him. Rest in peace all good members of sweet, and Andy Scott we're still glad you're around and you're a hell of a guitar player., And a great singer. Andy if you read any reviews on yourself I compare you guys to Queen I said if I could compare these guys to anybody it would be Queen with their vocals in the way they all collaborate with each other. Fantastic . You guys rocked

I have said on another video that I saw both versions of the band. The teenybopper version were excellent and entertaining, but I went and saw them two years later and they had reverted to their original style of playing, which they are so obviously happier doing. Those doubting Brian's input during a live gig are wrong - he was belting it out far better than a lot of contemporary 'heavy bands' singers were [and that includes Geordie ,whose lead singer went on to other things apparently...........]. Don't forget he had to be the 'pretty boy too :)

He is all of those things. I can't remeber exactly who said it but it may have been Andy Scott, but whoever it was said of Mick that, "He was the best little drummer this country has ever produced." (OWTTE).
Considering Mick's contemporaries, high praise indeed. Cozy Powell, Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Ian Paice, Nick Mason are 4 or 5 of his contemporaries that readily come to mind. Mick Tucker is rarely included in such lofty company but for the life of me - and probably you, I don't understand why ??

@@CB-xr1eg Fool. He didn't just twirl the drumsticks as you put it. He could really play. He had fantastic style and his timing was impeccable. I saw 3 of those others you mention above playing live at various concerts during my youth. Although very good they did not match Mick Tucker in my honest opinion. He could also sing very well which is something the others couldn't do. The fact that he could twirl those sticks the way he did during his drumming sessions and still keep up with his timing and rhythm was an indication of just how good he was. I actually remember as a teenagers around 1972 time, Mick tucker been described by some critics as one of the best young drummers to come out of England.

Tragisch. Denn eigentlich steckte viel mehr dahinter. 😞

Well.........My flabber has never been so gasted. Not ever.
I always thought of Mick as just an average drummer in a glam rock band that I used to like in the 70's.
BUT how wrong can I be?
Mick was absolutely totally and utterly brilliant...and so were Andy and Steve.
Mick was good enough to play in a rock band. a heavy metal band, a jazz band or an orchestral band. WHAT A SUPER-STAR AND MAESTRO PERFORMANCE FROM MICK.
In fact this is in the top three performances of any band I have seen in my life.
I can only shake my head in disbelief at what I have just witnessed. I honestly felt physically and emotionally drained after seeing this classic performance.
Brian. Mick, Steve, Andy, you are and will forever remain in my top three bands of all time after this.
It has opened my eyes and a St Paul epiphany has overcome me.
Andy mate. Your superb guitar playing talent is recognised.
Steve, I wish you had stayed around a lot longer my mate. We miss your showmansip and talent.
You are all we have left of the days when there were guys with so much expertise and skill that it was running out of their ears...and Sweet proved they were more than capable of holding a torch for the rest of the wannabe's to follow and look up to.
    Thank you fellas.
Long life Andy. and GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Always rely on your senses and not a hype fellowship.
You know, Deep Purple for instance were a damn good rock band and never made it into the so called " Rock n Roll Hall of Fame" .
Regarding Mick, he had it all - Balls of steel and a summary of class A techniques from other drummers such as Keith Moon or Ian Paice just to name a few.

+Cl4rendon Well you know it would just be nice for the guy to get his dues, even though he's gone now. Also, you figure the people who make these lists are really missing out if they've (obviously!) never heard him play.

I just noticed during Mick's drum solo that Roger Taylor from Queen totally ripped it off for his live version of "Let There Be Drums". Check it out here on UA-cam and I'm sure you'll agree. The proof just keeps on piling up on just how much Queen ripped off The Sweet all along.

Fantastic. I like how they took a single line originally written for the Fender Bass VI (performed by Jet Harris) and figured out how to make it work between Andy (with added Andy) and Steve in their own way. And Mick, as always, was such a great drummer. And of course Brian was a fantastic singer.

I think most of the 70's adolescents who only know them from those Chinn/Chapman bubblegum hits Like CoCo, Poppa Joe, Funny Funny etc. will be flabbergasted seeing this (unless they took the effort to listen to the flipside of these singles....like "Done me wrong allright" which was THE eye/ear opener for me), but it's great to see and hear The Sweet doing what they really wanted to do. They were a fantastic heavy rock band and could easily fit in with Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin etc.

I saw Andy's Sweet and I'm going to see them again in Sweden in August. I'm so excited :) Oh yeah I have noticed. I did some research and they all look like their fathers. I'm not surprised if they are talented like them too because Sweet were really special and full of talent :)

I love this soundtrack theme, one of the many great soundtracks written by Elmer Bernstein. The movie is dated, but still pretty good, with Sinatra and Eleanor Parker. Sweet shows here that they were more than just a TOTP band. Musikladen has some of the best 70's concert footage. No lip-synching bullshit. Mick Tucker is amazing

As a rock enthusiast, for over forty-five years. I would say, Mick was one of the top twenty drummers in rock history. Sweet was typecast as a teeny-bop band. In reality, Andy was an exceptional guitar player, Brian in his day, an exceptional singer, and Steve, an exceptional bass player. Musically, I loved Desolation Blvd, and Give Me A Wink. With Desolation more hard rock, less glitzy. More street. Give Us A Wink, was more polished, a little more Hollywood. Overall, after these two albums, the band fell into chaos from internal power struggles, that plagued most bands of this era. Too much booze, chicks, money, and egos collided. Overall, the Sweet has always been one of my faves, since I was thirteen in 75.
