I've seen a lot of comments saying yes and quite a few saying no in regards to a "rez" system. I completely agree that if it were to be introduced, it cannot take away from the games hardcore feeling of only one life. The only thing that comes to mind is looting your teammates tags like in Apex how you grab a banner. Then running to a station where you could bring people back. This would avoid long shots becoming worthless because then the person just gets brought back right there after a smoke is dropped. If they ever do it. I hope it's done right.
FYI : switch your DRM and AR slots (DMR in slot 1 and AR in 2), I know it's weird but just as the movement, it's a getting used to kinda thing. Really game changing too !
Yeah I also think the apex system would work best. Because you still need to win the fight or risk it for the banner. So it's not just a risk free revive. It should be a reward for your team.
Seeing Fuggy and Aculite play for the first time in years actually made me so happy. I’m still subbed to Fuggy on Twitch but it’s just so nice to see y’all play again. Good shit Connor
This isn't their first time in years though? They play together all the time as well as Tomographic and StoneMountain64. They also do something called FAST Friday where every Friday they play a bunch of variety games on stream
Some of the best gaming memories I have is with my main squad on this game. If I could get my buddies back to play, it would be magical. Bridge, Louis, Steve, I miss you guys... hit me up if you see this. Lets play PUBG again. Edit: Thanks for all the likes everyone thats cool.
I love how wholesome that guys reaction was at the 3ish minute mark first his disappointment at you being a fake and then excitement at actually hearing your voice and realizing it was the real you.
I've sunk 1,300 hours into this game. My thoughts align with you a lot Aculite. - Game has amazing gun-play and replayability if that's your thing - A big detractor is the no res system - The maps that do have a comeback arena do it so poorly, more so Vikendi. A massive delay to even get into the comeback arena, followed by a solid chance you'll spawn in vision of another enemy who may have immediate access to a gun, and you can spawn completely on the other side of the map to your team mate as it's seemingly random. I wanna keep playing it more but OCE (I only do first person) seemingly has players at night for a few hours before the bots are them 60-90% of the lobby
Stability is what would bring me back. For whatever reason this game hates my PC, when playing with friends I will crash to my desktop over and over. I've spent so much time trying to fix this that I eventually just gave up. Love watching you and the boys play though! Definitely scratches that itch for me lol
I get crashes from time-to-time as well. I'm not sure what causes it for you but staying away from DX12 in the settings helped me only crash every 2-3hrs.
@@Aculite Yeah its real weird, I don't get it. None of my friends have this issue and I'm the one who built their PC's modeled after my own lol Hopefully if PUBG 2 becomes a thing they will iron that out as well!
I'm on the same wave as you lately, feeling very nostalgic for PUBG lately. In fact I've been binging your old vids. Loving seeing this drop right now.
I can watch these videos 24/7 so cool how you guys interact with each other in a calm and collective manner. Provide great gameplay and having a good laugh!
Your suggestion relating to PUBG 2 and porting everything over is SUCH a great idea that it's almost impossible for anyone of authority to give it a go. We all know all studio heads are allergic to good ideas.
PUBG is my #1. The gunplay and rewarding scenarios are too good and I still haven't found a game that tops it for me. I tried EVERY other BR/shooter in existence and PUBG is just the one. Nothing needed to bring me back because I never left lol 💜 So good seeing you play!!
I gotta say, I have not played PUBG in a fat minute but hearing and seeing the new stuff that I haven't seen makes me wanna try it again. The suppressors in this game also sound really scary too!
I fully agree with your points on developing a PUBG2. The early days of PUBG were an absolute blast even though it felt clunky and didn't run that well. I could hop on with friends and have a ton of fun for hours, and the population was pretty diverse in terms of skill and goals (my squad likes to just have fun, so finding another squad that is willing to have vehicle-to-vehicle sniper battles is something I currently miss). PUBG just feels very pure compared to the BRs that have come after, and would love it if PUBG2 was able to bring back a healthy playerbase
Need this message to be heard. Still probably my all time favorite game, but it's very high skill ceiling makes it hard for people to get into (or in my case back into) it. New engine and a respawn system would definitely help it compete with the more casual BRs and restore its former playerbase. Glad ur playing it again though loving the content!
This is without a doubt the most fun I have ever had playing a multiplayer game with friends back in the day. I would love to see it come back to the glory it once had. A UE5 remake would be amazing to see.
I'm so happy to see you playing PUBG again. Honestly it doesn't need an update to keep me. My friends and I all left for a bit and came right back because we just enjoy PUBG more than any other multiplayer or BR right now
I was out of Pub for maybe 2 and a half years. Was getting bored with other games and wanted the chaos that I remember PUB being. Once I played 3 matches I was instantly hooked again. Love the intensity of FP solos!
I agree and I remember playing Pubs and having to restart duos so many times because your buddy dies sucks but that’s also what made winning feel so rewarding.
What would make me come back to PUBG is ‘improved movement.’ I know people enjoy it. But it’s what made me stop playing it. I don’t want it to be super arcade-y obviously. But I think there is a way to find a middle ground. Maybe find a way to make the movement slightly closer to something like “Ring of Elysium.” Find a nice balance between movement that can get you in and out of fights more efficiently (or traverse buildings/walls/boxes more efficiently), but still keep it feeling tactical for all the right reasons. I know it’s tough to find that balance, but it would be cool to see them improve upon this with a PUBG2 made in UE5.
I love seeing people recognize and give shout outs to Aculite and his videos in this game. So great! Can we get a video collage of people who recognized you. That'd be amazing lol
I dont think any ress systems would make this game better. The main charm with this game is how realistic, how just damn rewarding it is to get those HS shots 500+m away, and with that it comes with not being able to buy your team members back. (You die, you dead). I have stayed with this BR since it came out. and I love it how it is. im in for the idea with unreal engine tho :) Would be good i think.
I've always said an overhaul of the mechanics would put me right back into this. I haven't played WW3, but if PUBG had that kind of look and feel with the same maps, skins, etc. I'd be all over it
the only thing that made me stop playing pub g was all my favourite content creators stopped playing it which made my friends stop playing and the playerbase as a whole, due to whatever issues with the game, i never minded them except for one where id keep disconnecting. such a fun game, i like the slower pace it takes the game from more of an "action" type game to a "thriller", suspense is fun.
I agree with you. Me and my friends have been saying it for years. It's SO EASY to fix this game. Just add a revive mechanic. That's it! They've noticed the sentiment and are gonna add it to normals at some point, but keep it away from ranked. I think there's a place for insta kills, but it's not in the public matchmaking queue.
An elevated version of the classic pubg, no new crazy eye-catching elements like the ones fortnite have been implementing, but I think you have a point, adding reasonable elements elevating that OG fun BR experience
I saw a game critic analysis comparing this game to other FPS like it, and he concluded that PUBG's true genre was Thriller, and compared it to a bunch of movies as examples. There are long periods where not much happens but the tension is always high, where similar games are Action, like COD is always action all the time, right in the shit, always in the shit. PUBG has these long periods where no fighting occurs, but the Hills Are Watching You, and then sometimes there is time to just screw around with your buddies and do stupid motorcycle stunts, so you also get a release of tension. About the time things get boring the Zone closes, and you are pushed into Action, again. It's unique and that's probably why it still feels good.
What would make me come back? Hit markers. As someone who is not incredibly good at shooters, knowing when im actualy landing my shots is incredibly helpful... yes the bloodspatter excists, but its very often very hard for me to see it..
PUBG used to have lots of stuff you could get out of crates and sell on the marketplace. That was awesome. Then everything went non-marketable and very microtransaction heavy it seemed. Combined with the new respawn, it just stopped being worth it. But I miss the days of playing it.
I know a lot of “PUBG Purists” hate hate hate the idea of comebacks. They say it detracts from the core experience of what made PUBG. I think it worked at the time. But you’re correct, it’s time for PUBG to evolve. I think the best way for them to do it is how Super People does it. I think requiring people to revive on the dead body with a super long res time is the best way to not taint PUBG’s gameplay with any sort of “buy back” or “respawn van” like in WZ, Apex, or FN. Having to actually res the dead body over like a 15-20 second period is way more intense and requires you to fight/kill the enemy team to pull it off. And then hope you don’t get 3rd partied.
The big long wait after you die right at the first drop because you couldn't find a gun is my biggest gripe about this game. Being able to be "bought back" or what ever you want to call it would fix that for sure
That's the best part! I love scrambling for a weapon and feeling the excitement when you know someone is in the next room getting a gun. It makes you have to think sometimes. For instance, I found a smoke and threw it in my room and hid while the guy with the gun searched for me, I ran towards him and superman punched him and then ran back in the smoke and he missed all his shots and once he was reloading I ran back out and beat him to death. Not a very likely scenario to repeat, but the fact that the new opportunities of strategy arise is what I love.
100% I agree with Aculite on the res-system. I think it's one thing that is missing from PUBG. You have to spend so much time to find good weapons and gear and if you die you have to start over. Of course for good players that's not an issue, but for bad players like myself (I played PUBG around 10 times) the time is 99% on finding and starting a game, gear up and 1% on fighting. That's why one more chance would be great for me
In the beginning of the video about the self res thing that should be in PUBG, funnily enough Krafton also made a version of PUBG called New State Mobile (was also known as PUBG New State before they changed the name) which is pretty much PUBG but takes place in a near future timeline similiar to BO2 or Battlefield 2042 and NSM has a good amount of system that fixed the normal PUBG gameplay pace. They have a drone buy system where you can buy items as long as you have collected some cash, this system helped a lot for players who have pretty bad start after drop or lacking consumables. On the buy system there is also a revive flare gun to revive one of your dead team mate and there is an item called the TR-S that can self res you. NSM also have a really good recruiting system, where if you knockdown an enemy you can recruit them to became a part of the team, as long as your team isn't a full squad. They also improved on gun customization by adding upgrade kits that gave you 2 choice of modification with its ups and downs, such as increasing range, damage or free suppression. A shame that New State is only for Mobile and not on PC, the game is really optimized compared to the actual PUBG on PC too.
Rez system is 50/50 for me, either way I'm fine. I have 900 hours in PUBG and all of it is pre 2020, I'd go back if there were more people honestly. Also the people that do play seem to be pretty sweaty lol. I miss the days when this game was popular and I didn't run into guys like Aculite! Also thanks for the great content as always.
I totally agree that PUBG is a totally different feeling to other BRs, some of that may be nostalgia by now but they have improved a lot over the years. If it had a second chance system it would be so much better as the main problem with the game is getting unlucky at the very beginning of the game and being screwed. But frankly I think if they tried to CS2 it, I think they'd botch it and we'd get something totally different that didnt feel like PUBG and instead was some sort of "new" BR due to them wanting to bring in new younger players.
I'm a big fan of no rez system. It makes the stakes so much higher and more rewarding.. Getting "rezed" just depreciates that feeling imho and games like CoD and Apex just don't feel nearly as satisfying because of all the handicaps they give players. I think PUBG did it right and that helps make it special. I don't think all the BRs should be trying to copy each other, because I appreciate the variety of different gameplay when I jump from one to the other.
I think instant rez before 3rd zone and then a rez flare gun that team mates can use to get you back in if it's after 3rd zone. New State Mobile foes this and it is absolutely great for multiple reasons. If you get camped early game you can come back and kill him. It doesn't remove the difficulty of a win. It actually makes the game harder because the try hards who hot drop end up often staying in the game's longer because they land cold on the revive flight. It has been a great system!
Three things put me off about this game, and some of them might have changed over the years: 1) The stupid ADS controls. Hold mouse 2 to... kind of ADS?, quickly click mouse 2 to actually ADS. Is that still in the game since first person view got popular? 2) The movement has always felt off to me, like you mention in the video. Like the game isn't happy about dragging my player model around. This is obviously subjective, and I could be just imagining it, but I've never been able to shake that feeling. 3) Any inventory action always seems delayed or buggy. This has existed since day 1. If I press F to pick something up off the ground, sometimes it doesn't register, and when it does, it seems to take like a whole second for it to apply. The same happens in the inventory menu. If I right click something to move it around, it's sluggish, and it seems like if I do it too fast on too many items, the game gets mad at me and stops registering clicks. This doesn't happen in any other BR game. If they addressed those issues in a hypothetical PUBG2, I think it would be great. Res system or not.
One idea I had when I used to play was a defib. They could drop in air drops and have a medium rare drop chance throughout the world such that if you found one you can use it on a buddy.
I have over a thousand hours and I can honestly say I hole heartedly agree with the intro. Unreal5 and a respawn system ported to a ‘new’ game. I’ll soon be back on 5+ hour sessions 😂😂
I'm glad you're playing this game again and uploading vids. This is the most rewarding game and content to watch for me because of the game difficulty.
I was thinking twice a game 5 minutes after the drop, the plane comes back around and teammates who made it to a radio to call for backup/support, get their dead teammates to parachute back in, could just be once a game as well
Obviously there’s always toxicity out there but it’s always great to see guys get excited to see their favorite streamer/UA-camr in a match and they shout GG, brings hope for more unity in the world as our generation gets older and starts teaching those after us
My man, I've been on a watching spree of ur pubg vidos, amazing, made me want to try it, I downloaded it a couple days ago. I've never been too good (or even played) shooter games but I'm excited to start geing a lil bit better at it. I mostly run around aimlesly xdd. U brought me in, I hope i see some more!
A form of rez system is the only way id come back or a mode with a shorter game (quicker circles). Maybe you can be rez'd by a tm8 if they get ur tag and if you died in first 1 or 2 circles or something.
As a Dev and a enjoyer of BRs i totally agree other BRs make it more fun with friends with the revives, Apex for me feeling the most in line and balanced, and coming back to PUBG is always super jank but definitely rewarding with the low TTK, a revival 2.0 would be a fantastic way to revive the game to the new standards
All 8x8 maps are getting a new res system in subsequent updates. PUBG is also working to port a map over to unreal5. The effectiveness of that process is yet TBD.
I've seen a lot of comments saying yes and quite a few saying no in regards to a "rez" system. I completely agree that if it were to be introduced, it cannot take away from the games hardcore feeling of only one life.
After such a long time this squad 😊
I totally agree that PUBG is a totally different feeling to other BRs, some of that may be nostalgia by now but they have improved a lot over the years. If it had a second chance system it would be so much better as the main problem with the game is getting unlucky at the very beginning of the game and being screwed. But frankly I think if they tried to CS2 it, I think they'd botch it and we'd get something totally different that didnt feel like PUBG and instead was some sort of "new" BR due to them wanting to bring in new younger players.
my day always gets better seeing aculite uploading pubg
always love seeing some aculite pubg! you were one of the first pubg streamers i ever watched way back in the day!
Started playing it again late last year and I was blown away at how good the game support was. A couple of them were vet players.
I don't think all the BRs should be trying to copy each other, because I appreciate the variety of different gameplay when I jump from one to the other.
quietly intense fight . glad to watch thanks for taking me back also to this game .
Love the attempt with the pan throw!
4:21 you was gaming
Three things put me off about this game, and some of them might have changed over the years:
1) The stupid ADS controls.
This is why I started watching you my good sir, love when you go back to the good ol pub g
Awesome matches man! I'm really enjoying this pubg videos, it really brings me back to 4 or 5 years back when I first found your channel
Decided to pick it up again too recently and love to see you were playing again. It’s like I never stopped watching ya
One of the things pubg needs. Is to not limit what type of guns appear in each map.
A lot of excitement to watch you play PUBG every now and then
I'm glad you're playing this game again and uploading vids. This is the most rewarding game and content to watch for me because of the game difficulty.
I was thinking twice a game 5 minutes after the drop, the plane comes back around and teammates who made it to a radio to call for backup/support, get their dead teammates to parachute back in, could just be once a game as well
Love the PUBG man! I’ve been going back and watching the whole PUBG playlist
Obviously there’s always toxicity out there but it’s always great to see guys get excited to see their favorite streamer/UA-camr in a match and they shout GG, brings hope for more unity in the world as our generation gets older and starts teaching those after us
aculite + pubg = massive W
Revive is coming soon this year and they’re testing UE5 currently, fingers crossed it all works! 🤞🏼
Love the recent PUBG content. Keep it coming.
A chicken dinner with all of the FAST squad would be awesome 🥰
All 8x8 maps are getting a new res system in subsequent updates. PUBG is also working to port a map over to unreal5. The effectiveness of that process is yet TBD.
Also, great video. More PUBG is very welcome.
I've watched every single pubg video you've ever done and will continue to do so. Love the content!
