2H - 2NT; 4S response. Presumably this indicates a hand with 6 Hearts and 5 Spades, but it also takes the bidding beyond 4H. Any advice on this situation would be appreciated
Hi Rob, I see some conventions use 3NT in response to jacoby 2NT to show balanced 15-17 points, and 3H for balanced 18+. Do you think this is too excessive? If so can we use 3NT to do something else? Thanks
@@amateurphi so, with your 15 - 16 balanced hands you’re going to open 1NT always. Some partnerships agree different things here with the most common being either a “serious or non-serious” slam try, or just 18-19 (17) balanced.
2 over 1 bid in a major and the Jacoby 2 No Trump both seem to show similar shape and point range. How do we choose between them? or use them differently, Jacoby 2NT for unbalanced hands and 2 over one for one suiter in majors. Would appreciate a clarification.
Wonderful stuff, Rob. A great, concise and encouraging introduction to this must have convention. I love it! *(from Perth, Western Australia)*
Thank you so much Gary.
Great commentary Rob, luv ypu
Thank you so much Judith

@@bridgelesson Oh you're right about opening 1NT instead. Thanks for your info!

Jacoby 2NT for 4 card support. 2/1, then raise for 3 card support
Thank you Rob
Where is superchat
It seems like rebidding your suit at 3 level would show 6.
Not after you’ve discovered a 9 card fit. No need to show extra cards when rebidding.
Excellent, many thanks
