funny you mentioned the music part. for one, i remember the wrestlers of 1985 "singing" the land of a thousand dances. (ah, the '80s.) later on down the track, "hollywood" hogan used to use jimi hendrix's voodoo chile, but in a hulk hogan anthology dvd i have (yes, i'm a hulkamaniac from way back & i make no apologies for it!) they doctored those matches, replacing it with the nwo theme. plus, aside from music, they also doctored every time wwf was mentioned, they repaced the 'f' with 'e' in their speech & partially pixelated the turn of the century wwf logo.
This probably explains why if you look up a lot of undertaker matches and segments from the early 2000s the limp bizkit music is replaced with his big evil theme but then again limps in the hof so why wouldn't he give the wwe permission to use it on the network
Chris Benoit's brain damage was such that he killed his wife. He spent some time with his son from that wife and then that damaged brain told him to crush that son's skull. Since his impulses seemed due for a win, he hung himself ship mascot style on an exercise machine. An autopsy would reveal that Benoit's CTE gave him the thinking capacity of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient. Wait up, maybe I agree with you. If any company was willing to complete a show with Owen Hart's death scene blood still fresh on the mat, why not show the viewer just how low their definition of humanity has sunk. Like pictures of cancer victims on cigarette packages. (For those of you Jesus somehow might want come the Judgment Day, "Woman" had a family before she met Chris. That segment was racist, dangerous, and I didn't understand why taker didn't see. No! I don't think this should be hidden when lives are either close to being hindered or have been. The last with the undertaker only fueled more racism and hate, what's wrong with these people?!

Two things. I dont think Chris Benoit should have been wiped from WWE. I know what he did is wrong, but no one ever talks about the amount of brain damage he had FROM wrestling hard. No one would take responsibility for that, they want to solely blame him. That's wrong. I understand why they did it, but they dont have the facts straight. He wouldnt just do that just because. (Edit) if you look it up, the autopsy of Chris showed he has the brain damage of an 80 year old man with SEVERE alzheimers. Two: I never got the chance to see Owen Hart wrestle and it's horrible that he passed away. I have mad respect for him and always will.
I was a Benoit fan, ans I thought it was right for them to pull the plug on the tribute, but it was a step too far to try and delete him from everything. I believe most of his remaining family don't agree with that decision either.
@@StopSomething no one actually bothers to connect it to wwe, caused by his special move the flying headbutt. everyone just assumes benoit is the worst human to ever exist. read properly next time before you speak, the op literally capitalized "from" just for you. they also said people want to blame benoit, and that is also very true. everyone just puts the blame on him and they get no consequences because hes dead. most people havent watched wrestling at the time and assumed hes a bad guy just because they saw the news report. no one actually realizes how much of a good guy and amazing wrestler he was before he had major brain damage.
Should have just moved Hassan to Raw temporarily. And even had the Undertaker chase him over there to continue the feud a bit...…. then there was talk that Hassan was going to be WHC. I was watching the "Over the Edge" pay per view when Owen fell. When the screen went black and then they cut away to J.R. and Jerry Lawler...I wasn't sure what was happening. When it was announced that Owen Hart passed away...at first I was convinced that it was a work. Then, when I found out that it was in fact true, like everybody else, I was shocked. There are conspiracy theories that allege that Owen Hart was a sacrifice by Vince so the WWE could go public on the stock market. It is suspicious that the PPV was called "Over the Edge" but there is no empirical evidence to support that conspiracy theory. Rest in power to Owen Hart.

I was watching the Raw segment with a friend of mine in a bar. When Triple H told Angle "but this is the 21st century, alternative lifestyles are perfectly acceptable", we both spit out our beer in laughter.
Didn't know bars streamed WWE from their TV lol.

Yea I remember immediately after Jim Ross announced Owen Hart had died they cut to a HHH promo towards The Rock. It felt weird
Funny thing is HBK and HHH themselves used that footage on a promo when they were members of DX

Karen Martinez The Godfather was on the Titantron having an interview so it was dark when he fell. You heard a loud thump didn't actually see him fall doubt anyone did. He literally fell and the lights came back on and his fucking cape was slowly falling back and forth to the ring. He was laying near the edge of the ring. Everyone thought it was an act of course until tons of et had him on a stretcher doing cpr all the way out of the ring to the entrance. I have a tape of 1997 Uncensored (the match where Benoit was a beast) and the live Over the Edge 99 right after. Very erie.
I also still have the VHS of Over the Edge 1999 taped live that night on a blank tape.

I’m trying to watch it
If anyone has OTE 99 recorded I'd really like to see it
Yes. Upload it
Rewatched over the edge 99 on wwe network and the matches that came after the owen death you can tell the commentators and wrestlers had no emotion and were still in shocked but tried to keep it together.
A friend of mine actually bought a VHS recording of the '99 Over the Edge pay-per-view (just the event as it aired that night on TV, NOT Owen's death).
Let's just say he paid more for it than the 50-inch flat screen TV his living room that he took the tape home to and watched it on. Lol.
Does he want to buy any more old footage? We can split the profit. 😂
Yeah I just dont think that the footage exists outside of personal archives.... I can imagine Vince came down hard on all production members to leave the trucks so he can make copies for himself and then destroying all evidence, possibly firing people just for the sake of a piece of mind!!!!

Not sure about any other videos that should be edited but I do remember the Great American Bash or GAB for short, where it showed as we saw on this video of a lot of the 80's wrestlers doing drugs in the back. As much drugs as the stars did in the 80's we should feel lucky that any of em are still around today. The 80's were a real dangerous time in wrestling as according to the stars who were there, drugs were everywhere you looked. Just glad we still have some of these great talents still with us.

Incredible channel
funny you mentioned the music part. for one, i remember the wrestlers of 1985 "singing" the land of a thousand dances.
The limp bizkit music is still there. The kid rock theme is replaced. Bizkit isnt in the hof but kid rock is.
8:47 hey, that's our local channel!
I stopped watching wrestling when they buried Benoits entire career. Yes the end was dark but his whole career was legendary
Little Daniel had grandparents on both sides, along with aunts and uncles. Imagine how violated at least one of them would feel watching the corporation squeeze the last dollar out of Chris Benoit. Is that the dignity you'd want after a surprise swarm of familial tragedy that struck you out of nowhere?)

WWE even pushed police into saying that a fight between him and his wife caused the killings, and not his Alzheimer like CTE infested brain.
Ummm everyone talks about his brain damage, you live under a rock?
@@StopSomething no one actually bothers to connect it to wwe, caused by his special move the flying headbutt. everyone just assumes benoit is the worst human to ever exist. read properly next time before you speak, the op literally capitalized "from" just for you. they also said people want to blame benoit, and that is also very true. everyone just puts the blame on him and they get no consequences because hes dead. most people havent watched wrestling at the time and assumed hes a bad guy just because they saw the news report. no one actually realizes how much of a good guy and amazing wrestler he was before he had major brain damage.

then there was talk that Hassan was going to be WHC. Would have been awesome. Just make it to where you had to get the PPV to see the controversial character defend the title. Might not have worked for a long time but it definitely would have worked while the dust settled on the controversy.

Miss my favorite wrestler Owen Hart forever
