- Filthy, Rich & Catflap is a tale of Richie Rich (Mayall), talentless and unheard of television personality along with Ralph FIlthy (Planer), his useless, sponging agent and Eddie Catflap (Edmondson), his alcoholic minder, who are both involved in helping (hindering) Richie's quest for TV fame and glory.
Episode Four - Richie lands a job reading the gossip column on TV-AM. Now all he has to do is make sure he stays sober and get to the studio at 4:30 a.m.
this show is so underrated
I just can't understand why this comedy's so utterly underrated. It's much more intelligent than many success comedies, it has some of the most brilliant quotes of TV history, and Planer, Mayall and Edmondson are true talents.
I guess FR&C is the kind of brilliance that appeals only to some people, but that doesn't mean it's bad. More like on the contrary.
It’s deep satire of a previous generation of comedians with zany slapstick thrown in. It’s a great mix.
It’s not very funny. Far inferior to both the young ones and bottom. Ben Elton at his worst.

This is great tv but i can totally understand why there are no reruns of this on tv. People/Pop culture references that are referenced on this show are very mid-80s and if there was a rerun of it, people under 40 simply wouldn't get the jokes (with the exception of those who are 80s pop culture junkies )

i was 9 when this was on tv - life was sheer heaven at the time frankly, with stuff like this on the BBC at the time...wow we didnt know what we had.

@Jessmo198 they wont because it wasn't as successful as bottom or ther young ones, but it is very funny, they should do re runs on some channel
Love how brutal they are to Barrymore and Brucie - the dreary mainstream needed these two to kick it up the arse (while swearing too probably)
