I don't understand why people are upset over us getting top quality squad depth when that's what killed us last season. Palmer will play both in the midfield and RW in Maresca's system, Nkunku can play all across the front line, Caicdeo can drop to DM. I'm happy with this squad. Also a massive fan of Archie Gray, send him and Lesley on loan and if Santos or Carney don't work out or when we sell Conor, Archie, Kellyman and Lesley will have their chance to break into the first team. Us trying to get Murillo in exchange for Chalobah is probably us thinking ahead to if Fofana doesn't work out. As for our wonderkids, unless Madueke becomes a starting level talent for England which I don't think he will, we will probably sell him for profit in 3-5 years, Sterling's contract won't be renewed in 3 years, Mudryk might flop and Nkunku will be 30 in 3 years so we would be preparing for his replacement. All of this leaves room for Estevao & Kendry to start getting serious mintues when they are around 19-20. Alfie can also fight for a spot to replace, Disasi in the future, we have Slonina who i personally beliew should have Sanchez's spot in the team and a couple other prospects that we can get good loan fees for like we used when we were run by Roman. They sign young players that is a problem for the fans, they sign experienced and proven players too, and then they say they don't need them as well. DBH is a great signing!!!! He doesnt play on the right , he plays on the left. He will likley play LW or LCM. 14 goals 16 assists last season. 25 years of age. Its a long season , this guy will bring quality. Manager also knows him well.

If you have a mid manager along with mid players you will get mid results. Disagree with your negativity on the KDH deal. This can be a smart signing on low fee (should be much less than £35m, especially if we can include a player exchange) and low wages. He is central creative player who gives us another reliable option beyond Cole Palmer. Last summer we sold all our 10s (Mount, Havertz, Felix loan expiry) to fully trust Nkunku, with Carney as back up. Both of them were injured within the first few games, and never fully recovered. However, we pulled off the biggest escape act ever by signing Cole Palmer before the window closed. If not for that we would have probably finished bottom half. What if anything happens to Cole Palmer, or he just needs a rest (especially as we have European football too). We'll be left with: - Carney: great potential, huge fitness concerns - Nkunku: great quality, may end up playing as a 9 rather than a 8/10, huge fitness concerns That's concerning for team fighting for CL football. Whereas KDH is a known entity: He knows Maresca's football, he knows English football, he's hardly been injured. If Carney and Nkunku stay fit and hit top form they'll easily oust KDH, as they have more talent. However, that's fine, as he is cheap enough and low profile enough for that not too matter. Unlike signing an Eze for £60m and big wages. Like the Tosin signing, this is not a ceiling raiser, but it is a floor raiser. Under Maresca last year KDH is clearly an 8/10, so this doesn't relate to any of Lavia, Enzo, Ugochukwo, Santos who will all be 6s.

If we sell Gallagher, regardless of how much you/we like him, he’ll probably be sold. Then bringing DH in would mean that we have two midfielders in each midfield position - and that’s with Carney and Lavia staying fit. I don’t see the issue with that.

It’s disingenuous to talk about Nkunku and Palmer being ahead of him without actually seeing them play as 8’s for Maresca, let’s not jump to conclusions. Right now as midfielders we have Enzo, Caicedo Lavia(coming from a year out of football) Santos and Carnz (still growing into his tall frame so likely to have some injuries even though we hope not as many) if either Caicedo or Enzo go down we’re in a tough situation in terms of numbers for Thursday Sunday games.

When I think about it is smart business. Chelsea always buying players when they have hype but never do the scouting from lower leagues.Gyokeres perfect example same age as Drewsbury. Now after one season no one would blink if Chelsea paid 60 mil for him
Chelsea has already clocked that the base fee in return for these talents in the Prem is 30-35 million. So, if you buy a young player for less than that, you put them on a 6-7 year deal on minimal wages, you are always coming out good regardless of how they actually play. These guys are superb business men. With players like Olise, that threshold is threatened if you buy them for 60-70 mil. If an Olise flops you stand to lose half your purchase investment whilst having to pay a significant amount in wages. So, the solution is to get your palmers to flourish and buy young. Idk if anyone else sees it. We are moaning but these guys are actually cooking. The understand the finances and are not emotionally tied to the players. The moves seem sideways, but they actually make more sense on the books.

You guys have to do a crash course on pronouncing Nigerian names because of the sheer no of players with Nigerian roots. In the Chelsea first team alone we have Madueke, Chukwuemeka, Ugochukwu, Adarabioyo. In the reserves, Ngumoha, Somto Boniface, Olise, Ishe Samuel-smith etc. hardly any EPL side that doesn’t have at least one player with Nigerian roots.

Right now as midfielders we have Enzo, Caicedo Lavia(coming from a year out of football) Santos and Carnz (still growing into his tall frame so likely to have some injuries even though we hope not as many) if either Caicedo or Enzo go down we’re in a tough situation in terms of numbers for Thursday Sunday games.

So, if you buy a young player for less than that, you put them on a 6-7 year deal on minimal wages, you are always coming out good regardless of how they actually play. These guys are superb business men. With players like Olise, that threshold is threatened if you buy them for 60-70 mil. If an Olise flops you stand to lose half your purchase investment whilst having to pay a significant amount in wages. So, the solution is to get your palmers to flourish and buy young. Idk if anyone else sees it. We are moaning but these guys are actually cooking. The understand the finances and are not emotionally tied to the players. The moves seem sideways, but they actually make more sense on the books.

You guys have to do a crash course on pronouncing Nigerian names because of the sheer no of players with Nigerian roots. In the Chelsea first team alone we have Madueke, Chukwuemeka, Ugochukwu, Adarabioyo. In the reserves, Ngumoha, Somto Boniface, Olise, Ishe Samuel-smith etc. hardly any EPL side that doesn’t have at least one player with Nigerian roots.

DBH is a good player, but we SIMPLY do not need him. We've got too many players in that position. This isn't good for the confidence of existing players and many players.
