  • Our April Grantee, the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund is dedicated to the conservation, protection and study of gorillas and their habitats in Africa. Its successful, integrated approach includes close collaboration with local governments and communities as well as partners from around the world. The Girls in Conservation program tackles education inequalities in Rwanda, gives girls opportunities outside the classroom, and promotes careers in conservation. This initiative selects aspiring female students in the secondary schools and provides them with life skills and practical conservation lessons; a female mentor living and working around Volcanoes National Park (VNP) in Rwanda; and a scholarship to continue their advanced level education in government-awarded boarding schools around Rwanda. The goal of this program is to increase school attendance, educational attainment, and paid opportunities for post-secondary school. Hear from Dr. Tara Stoinski, President & CEO/Chief Scientific Officer.

Congratulations for the good work you are doing for women globally. I'm listening because I didn't get time to join the webinar.
