Gravel Training with Mala Racing

The interest for gravel riding is increasing, even in western Norway. The number of available gravel roads are very limited, and so is the possibility for organized training.
Hallstein D. Mala (‘From the sofa to Dakar’) has started arranging training courses close to Bergen in 2024, and I had the pleasure of joining his first class where he shared his knowledge and gave good instruction to both beginners and somewhat experienced gravel riders. The income from the courses will help finance Hallstein in his rally endeavors; Breslau in Poland in 2024, and eventually the Africa Eco Race.
The training took place at Meland Motorsport Klubb, where we could take on challenges in a controlled environment.
I chose to ride my CRF250L as I had hopes I could get to test the enduro single tracks they have there. They were not included this time, so I will have to get back for that.
