True. I cry like a baby every time I hear it Losing a loved one over and over every day is hard, the last time you lose them has to be the hardest, but losing them daily is hard on the heart.
I have not, but I cannot listen to this song without crying. That's the value of art, and Glen is a true artist and has transferred this pain beautifully in song. I hope I never experience it in my family. Bless you that have, my heart breaks for you.
I have never had a loved one who suffered with Alzheimers - but this song is incredibly sad for anyone who understands the meaning. And so sad for Glen.
No matter how many times ai hear this song, its heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Thank you Glen Campbell for putting this disease into words.
I listen to this a few times a day and am not sure why. It is a brutally honest song from a man to his wife about what the end of life is really like as we do not live forever. I have loved Glen Campbell for a long time for his amazing guitar skills and lyrics from his classic songs. I think that it makes me think each day to be a better man, friend, father and husband. It also reminds me of what I need to do to make sure my family knows I love them and what I need to do to make sure they are ready for that sad day that is coming for all of us. Thanks Glen and also the Wrecking Crew. Amazing song.
My sweet precious husband of 45 years has the early signs of dementia. We just listened to this song together and wept. He is the one who says to me, “I missed you”, if I am away from him. It’s a terrible disease to watch progress.
My dad died at 56 from familial early on set alzheimers disease. I miss him more and more as my life of an adult didn't begin until he was gone. Bless his sweet soul. This disease has stolen so many young people from our family. We are the 5%. This song..... has left an impact on me like no other. ♡ I am so truly sorry for anyone coping with this dreadful life stealing monster.
I hope that 3 years later you have been able to give it a place in your heart. My dad had prostate cancer and I suddenly realised that I would maybe never see him again... he survived and is still with me today but I can now imagine the unimaginable pain and emptyness. I hope you're ok Melanie :*
@@D-Tox_ Thank you so much. I’d like to think your dad is well. It’s been a long time since I first commented on this. Six years ago. This past week has been extremely hard. I’ve missed my dad and cried for him nearly every day. I’m going through a health struggle and even still wish I had him to hold my hand and promise all will be okay. Hugs, Robin.
This song really touches my heart. I work in a nursing home, I see every single day what the residents with dementia and their families go through. Some days are better then others for them. There are days where they do remember their families and friends but other days they don’t remember them.
I came across this song a few days ago. I will be watching a movie then suddenly I feel like listening to the song again, so I go back to UA-cam. Can’t get enough of Glen Campbell. …..what a great musician.
As someone whose Mother-in-law is afflicted with Dementia, this song really hits home as I watch my wife, her brother and the rest of the family deal with this disease. Thank you Glen for all of your songs, but especially for this one that puts this horrible disease in to words and music.

Reminds me so much of my dad. Same lost vacant look. It's heartbreaking, but God brought me home to help my mom care for my dad. It was an honor to be here for him in his last days.
I have two parents with Dementia and an Aunt with Alzheimer’s. This song is profoundly sad and so true. One of the hardest things of all is to watch them all slowly losing all their memories. And yes it’s true. They not going to miss me. But I completely miss them.
I was with my father in law when he took his last breath from his battle with this horrible disease ! You are playing and singing again Glen before the Throne better than you ever have !
This reminds me of the song co-written by Glen Campbell "I'm Not Going To Miss You". The last song he recorded in 2014, about his journey with Alzheimer's Disease.

Yes, it's difficult. Pray for strength to carry on, Our Lord is with you always. Be thankful for the years he was there teaching you the whole time to be strong and have that fight till the end attitude.
The song is heartbreaking enough by itself, but to find out after hearing it multiple times that it was the Wrecking Crew that backed him on it is just devastating and joyous all at the same time. Even in the end, Glenn managed to surround himself with the best of the best musicians available and God willing, knew he had left his mark on the world. RIP Glenn. Never seen this before I grew up with Glens music and he was one of the influences for me learning guitar. Many year later I wrote composed and played on a country album (sadly never got to produce it) That inspiration came from this man, amongst others. Made my eyes leak to see how old Glen looks here - what a totally awesome song...RIP Glen I hope you are 'still on the line' up in paradise.....THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart... we lost Dad last year to the virus he l was always singing your songs .....I hope he gets to meet his hero now..............M
Rest in peace. I love you with all my heart, Glen. ✨💖
Wau. The most powerful, deepest and gut wrenching lyrics I’ve ever heard…. The tragic theme and the most amazing declaration of love… and the music… i am - in awe… And embarrassed of course to admit this is the first time i ever heard about this artist and this song…
Here from the Billy Joe Shaver episode from the “Norm MacDonald has a show” - show… 😳😭
I grew up watching and listening to glenn. I love his voice and great songs. This 1 i never heard it before but its beautiful , sad and wonderful at same time.

Hi Carl.
This hurts.
Prayers for the Campbell family.
Oh, My, God!! It is so difficult to type on my keyboard. It is slippery with my flowing tears!!!
Well we are gonna miss you glenn.... I grew up listening to my dad singing your tunes... now he’s gone too.....😢

Thru Your weakness &Strenght You and your family make Me even stronger! Many Thanks from all your FANS... PEACE.
RIP dear Glen. Thank you for gifting the world with your talents for so long.
Reality 101, pray to God it never touches your family. In life we don't get a choice on how things will turn out. Bad things happen to good people. Try to live every day as if it is your last because who knows when that will be. I already miss you Glenn, your lyrics speak volumes of the man you are.................
