There are a lot of bands with similar vibes, but for me it's either Wilco, TV on the Radio, or Grizzly Bear. Wilco is highest because of the time Yankee Hotel Foxtrot came out, the impact could be compared to that of OK Computer or Kid A with all the fear of technology and Y2k and shit.
for those who care, the recording is even better, there are some sounds that the live version missed that really ties the song in better, well at least in my opinion
love it when you get hooked on something new again for a while!!! no matter how old you make it to , you will always love music when it grabs you like this ,,,,the beauty of randomness
Laughing at all the positivity. Always feel a sense of private ownership - (I'm from St. Louis and have followed Wilco & Uncle Tupelo b4 them for 30 yrs) - until I'm reminded everyone loves Wilco!
Unfortunately I can't bear to listen to Jools Holland wittering on so I don't normally watch Later. The truly awesome Nels Cline is too good to miss though.

Ain't one song on the last 2 Wilco albums as awesome & fun as this one right here. Star Wars was the last cool Wilco album. Hope they change that. Jeff needs to drop the slapback delay on every track!
You’re definitely right, but I have so much fondness in my heart for some of the songs on Schmilco. I at least appreciate that that record did the weird, sleepy side of Wilco as well as it did (and Someone to Lose is a lowkey banger) Edit: and Locator!! Can’t wait to hear the third song they make out of that can’t stand it riff
Been listening to only the ohsees recently because there is no other good new music. At least this is tight af, but dang Wilco has gotten a lil long in the tooth..we used to all be skinny nny too...was 20 when I first saw Wilco rock the roof off the joint
If JH didn’t give me the creeps I might have watched Later. It was embarrassing to see him interview Dizzy Gillespie and try to play with Herbie Hancock.
Starting with “Wilco (The Album)” and on through each subsequent release, I’ve found myself drawn to only a few tracks on each album, whereas I would be hard-pressed to identify a single song on any of their first 6 or so records that I straight-up dislike. “Star Wars”, though, was the one Wilco record that made me genuinely angry when I listened to it. Basically, I felt that they were acutely aware of the Pitchfork & Co’s perception of them as ultra-uncool “Dad Rock”, and had made this shallow, irony-lacquered record in an attempt to convince the sentient chocolate Easter bunnies of the American hipster community that they were hip to what the kids were into. The skronking guitars, the airheaded, Mac DeMarco-ish goofball lyrics, the pervasive, grating noisiness that seemed to serve no purpose other than to ingratiate themselves with the 14 year olds who write Pitchfork reviews and the lemmings who (bafflingly) heed the musical advice of said teen tastemakers by spending actual money to go see Swans attempt to pass off a profound lack of musical proficiency as some sort of intentionally cacophonous statement about, like, society, or like, conformity, I guess. Goddammit, how am I still pissed off about this? Anyway, I just watched this video and this song rips when it’s played live, I guess. The groove is tite and Nels gives us some fireworks at the end. So while I still feel that this aforementioned virus of hollow, anti-melodic posturing and corny faux-avant garde-ism is ruining/has already ruined American music and sent the art form into a tailspin, Jenny Hval and Ben Frost albums on a blaring loop in our surgically implanted headphones as we hurtle towards a musical ice age, in which unfiltered vocals, subtle songcraft, organic instrumentation and musical proficiency in general have been outlawed- anyone found engaging in said modes of expression will face immediate execution and gruesome post-mortem genital mutilation- despite all this, I have changed my mind about “Random Name Generator”. When played live, this track rips.

What a powerhouse. Every Wilco album I’ve spent time getting to know turns into my favourite!! This is so tight it’s scary
Wilco have been around since 1995 and are always changing their sound. Best touring band out there today by a country mile.
Tightest band i've heard for a long while!
So tight.
Glenn Kotche - best drummer I've heard. Live and on record.
super tight, indeed. Wow. Just tremendous. How come I've never heard of these guys. Love it.
michael conaghan check out Yankee Hotel Foxtrot mate!

You're so lucky you still get to discover their discography... 1 year later, how it went?
tight like doll ass
Can’t get this riff out of my head. And loving it.
The UK appreciates great rock. I hope they catch onto Wilco more, because for us Americans, they are our Radiohead.
Fuc radiohead
Loved by snobs everywhere.
@@fancychannelname you're a fkn piece of shite. This is genius music
You hope the UK catches on to Wilco more? They've been on the Jools show many times.

I love the energy in this performance, you can really tell they are having fun and they have a great musicianship playing together.
for those who care, the recording is even better, there are some sounds that the live version missed that really ties the song in better, well at least in my opinion
Just brilliant. Simply the finest musicians around, particularly Glen Kotche , the drummer. Jeff Tweedy's is an incredibly underrated guitarist.
Tweedy's good but when you're in the same band as Nels Cline...
first time I've ever heard of them or this song till I seen it on later with jools hollandaise quality tune
Saw their gig in Brussels this friday. These guys are just about the best rockmusic has to offer these days. Amazing concert.
love it when you get hooked on something new again for a while!!! no matter how old you make it to , you will always love music when it grabs you like this ,,,,the beauty of randomness
Stars wars is the best Wilco album ever. Fact. I checked, and science backs this statement
They all have their time and place
These guys are friggin amazing!
What an amazing band! LOVE Wilco
What a f*cking cool band

Hell yeah...great band, and super musicianship. :)
That's awesome!!
I hope they keep this tune in the regular live set list !
That rocks!!
So Good!!
Pure fourth dimensional freq's I love this band always have and this song makes me want to make him cry:)

Spiders is still my favorite
Till the end of time; it defines me now
" Random Name Generator " from the Album Star Wars 2015

Nels Cline playing a Les Paul? And I thought I'd seen everything.

How does not get many likes? WTF is wrong with people?

When they played this on Jools Holland they played another song. Does anyone know what that was?
Yes me too. Been trying to find that for ages

Anybody here tried GameCrook, I've got a friend who used it and got like so many gems and gold.
