- Have you ever wondered just how waterproof the electronics in RC cars and trucks are? In this episode o 10th Scale Garage, we take an RC crawler into the deep end and completely submerge it. Will it survive? If it can survive the off road adventure we have for it today, it should be able to handle any amount of mud and water we can throw at it. The RGT Suzuki Jimny proves to be super resilient.

I take my TRX-4 down to the Yellowstone river all the time. All I've done is change the screws out for stainless steal and hit the truck with the air compressor when I get home. No rust no fuss no must and its like a free rc wash after a a ton of dusty trail runs.
Impressive. RGT Jimmy is in my future wish list.
It's a tough one for sure👍🏾👊🏾✌🏾
Oh my , here for the Shark ok .
Hahaha. I didn’t think anyone would notice.
If anyone wants to try what they did. Keep in mind something… It will RUIN ur RC!!! Tires,Bearings. UNLESS you Clean it right away after running it. Don’t wait. Why? It will rust making you having to Clean up a bigger mess. Submerge ur Rc with a Huge risk and Involvement to clean it. And The electronics may not be happy either… But! Have fun in RC!
So far so good!
Has NO affect on sealed bearings. Can cause issues with bushings so unless you're running a Tamiya no need to worry about ruining bushings and personally I run a set of tire without foams for mud/water work. You can save foams also use a rotary tool to spin your rims with foams and no tires, centrifugal force rips the water out when tire is outta the way. Have fun RC.
Ive literally dunked my rcs in water and i have not had any issues with any of em im talking escs and motor and i have not seized any bearings or bushings on any of my rigs the only thing that has messed up over the years are the stock servos on some of my rigs but as far as my trx4ms and my fms rigs go none have got ruined by running em thru water which i do heavily and snow and mud as well the inly thing i recommend is not running any rcs thru salt water or wet sand in the beach that will definitely destroy your rigs besides that any fresh water or mud should be fine as long as the rig is waterproof obviously if not then well its on you if u ruin it or now just keep your parts clean and marine greased in the internals and you all should be good
Rebuild it she has earned it
Mod it !! Love the channel
Great video man!! I can’t believe how many of your videos I missed over the last couple months!! At least I have some content to keep me busy 😁
Welcome back!
great video guys!!!
Thanks so much!
glub glub glub. Nice trials here!
Dude that scale air compressor is wicked!! Oh and its that time of year brother- good luck with your browns😎 and as always [although Monday was tough] GO BILLS😎😎
keep up the good work dude!!!
The season is still early. We can clutch defeat from the jaws of victory!
I have seen it all, R/C planes, blimps, helicopters, hovercraft, Wing In Groundeffect, boats, submarines, cars trucks, tanks, snow cats, motorcycles, tuk tuks, surf boards, R/C sharks, alligators. Even flying R/C pterodactyl.
But now. An R/C floater. How many channels is that?
4 or 6….. I can’t remember.
That Crawler performs better in water than your 2 stroke hydro.😂
Har har har.
My brother has a very tricked out trx4 and a fully stock one.
Both performed very well in and out of water. However...
With that said.. we came to the conclusion that running it stock config through water and i mean fully submerged like 2 or 3 inches underwater. It drove back out and went in again and again.
The only mod for that stock truck was this....
Taped the holes on the tires, and let 'er rip.
This is the only truck we have that doesnt get water logged after a run through and underwater... if ya wanna get goofy with the water shenaniez ya gotta get yous a trx4 pro.
They the berries and jam of water 'splunking..
My trx4 lost its stock motor after getting splashed! Coincidence? Maybe, but I’ve definitely lost RCs to the drink before.
@10thScaleGarage so have I, even snow can find its way into a receiver box.
A cheap fix for the session we came up with...
Cover the damn fragilè electrics with hot shmoo(glue fer all yous newbs).
Do it Do it Do it 😛 Up Grade it !!!!!
Hehheh! Just had to look up the word "yolo" in the dictionary and didnt find anything!😂🤣I would keep it stock except rims and tires of coarse and use it as a testimony as to what it can take! The reward when it does? New upgrades!
You only live once (yolo)
@@daylightdies7194 👊🏼😎✌🏼yolo bro! Well said!😝
Definitely
😎😎👍👍
I wanna drive my car through a lake
We kinda did…..
Well it didn't shorted out and kept running and buried the thing up to the roof line twice, and I haven't even finished watching a video on you got lucky I think great video though thank you but like the other guy said you need to make sure you clean out the the entire gearbox drivetrain, axles the whole works otherwise you're going to have rust and going to seize up especially if it has bushing
Yeah…. Stay tuned. This little truck is getting some love soon.
If you do this, make sure you seal up the tires or your foams are trashed.
Exactly
