I bought my son a light weight mummy Wiggy’s bag a few years ago. My son kinda bitched about it and said he was really wanting a down bag. So I called Wiggy’s to see if they would take a return. I talked to Jerry who happened to be the guy who answered the phone. He talked me into keeping it. My son is now stationed at Fort Hood. He is in the infantry. He requested and I sent him his Wiggy’s bag. When they go on bivwack now all the other guys bitch because he has the only warm bag when it rains. He’s now worried his platoon sergeant is going to make him go back to the issued bag. He told me the other day that it is the best bag he ever had! Thanks Jerry!

"Never Stop Exploring" for a way to put a nickel in the shareholder pocket. You got back to me in five minutes today, on Labor Day. That's dedication. Try to find anyone that knows anything about any North Face product besides the color. I was a back packer in the late 80's 90's, there was great stuff, I had a Dana Design Terraplane made in Colorado, my Mountain Hardware wind beaker shell, jacket and pants, the Vasque boots, Moss tents, made in Maine, all great stuff in the Maine and New Hampshire mountains through winter. They all slowly turned to profit margin, cheapened up, sold out, merged, until they were themselves a shell of a company. I just started to get back in to it after raising a family and am totally lost on where or what to buy. I bought a nice old barely used Terraplane and will be ordering a -20 bag from you tomorrow after much research. Truly appreciate your dedication. Mark

I received my third Wiggy's bag today. The two I owned were stolen. I thought for the first 40 years of my life that camping equalled freezing all night. Wiggy's bags are amazing and worth every penny. There might be some down filled bags that are as warm as wiggy's and lighter too...if they are dry. Wiggy's you can count on keeping you warm in the worst sitiatuons.

I am an expert, to put it bluntly. I have a lot of nights in sleeping bags. I use down (Western Mountaineering and Marmot Helium ) on my summer ultralight backpacking trips. I love it, you cannot beat the warmth to weight ratio of a quality 800 fill down. My winter canoeing bag? Wiggy's all the way. I trust his bags in the wet more than anything else on the market.

This is why I usually only buy military surplus, because at least i can be assured that the gear is made in the country that it represents and is of reasonable quality. Ive wasted so much money over the years learning the hard way that the price of a piece of gear isn't always representative of its quality. I recently purchased a Superlite inner and outer sleeping bag, and a Duck's Back Parka from you, and they truly exceeded my expectations. Your prices are very reasonable considering the quality. I'm fairly certain the bags and the parka will outlive me. I wish I would have tried your bags 15 years ago; it would have saved me a small fortune

Jerry, thanks for revealing the scams these name brand companies are committing. It’s amazing how people will
purchase products because of the name on the product without digging into the quality of those products. How these companies are actually ripping the consumer off is pathetic. A company should always be trying to improve the quality of their products instead of cutting corners on the quality. I research and try to buy quality products and will always go back to a company I can trust to deliver quality consistently. I trust Wiggy’s products will stick to your promises.

I had the MSS and switched to Wiggys. The MMS got colder, and colder every year. It also stays damp. The Wiggy two bag system is far superior. The Gortex bivvy will keep the rain out, but moisture in. I've had ice and condensation with the MSS inside the bivy.

Truly an old salt. Meant in the most endearing manner of course.
So so true. These practices (cheap material and construction while adding hype, political partnering, benefitting the undertaker/ planned obsolesence, "competitors" partnering with same contractors etc) are all part of the current political shinanigans. It has everything to do with the global situation on all fronts.
criminals write the laws to protect their profit. Be it oil, its 500 subsidiaries (pharma, agrotech, biotech, basf, dow etc), bankers and hedge funds, gsk and fda, telecommunications, auto mfgrs, or even just the outdoor clothing industry...
Greed is always profitable. Bribery (lobbying) is perfectly legal. writing a law that favors your own industry or "incidentally" negatively effects your competition is not illegal either. Nor is it illegal to get your employees or ex employees into a position that allows them to approve your product (especially if lobbying did not work, or the product/ law/ deal is not likely to be approved by someone not in the profit loop).
This is all standard daily dealings now days, and none of which should ever have been tollerated enough to even have come to existence.
Don't blame those you call brainwashed. That equals victim blaming. Blame those who simply walked away smirking because a victim recieved the blame instead, or from our division among ourselves.
We vote many times a day. Those votes outnumber "election day" and represent your approval for who really runs the world and how.

A big problem with the state of outdoor gear is the stupid ultralight obsession. People are led to believe that the lighter a piece of gear is the better it is. Tents in big box stores that are made out of paper thin nylon that will get destroyed in a storm sell like crazy. I know of a cottage company that only uses sewing machines you could buy at Walmart. Stitching that looks like a drunk sewed it and gear just falling apart on the trail. Saying that a 20 degree sleeping bags rating implies you are wearing all your clothing while inside it. But hey, it's light!

Right yet all my gear is ultralight and has lasted better then my old heavy weight stuff and its more waterproof and warmer i think you need to look at other manufacturers. Wiggys bags are tech from the 80s not cutting edge if they were every climber in the world would use one and they dont. Theres great manufacturer out there made by people who walk the walk. Wiggys arent all that search online lots of negative reviews of flat bags and cold nights. If wiggys were that good he wouldnt need to shit on everyone elses gear.
