Toyota and Honda are ideologically different cars. As an owner of Honda (after BMW) i can say they have a lot of common. Honda is so much fun to drive compared to Toyota. They are competitors yes, but the psychologically buyers are very different kind of people.
The only place I hear 20,000 thousand dollar new car exists is on Scotty's channel. But I'm not seeing it at the dealers we're it counts 28,000 is no were close to 20,000 .
Mitsubishi Mirage and the other car companies stealth bash it... It's just as reliable as a Toyota... other Mitsubishis no... But the Mirage really is great and super simple.
1) It's not an "SUV", it's a "CUV". 2) I'd rather have a new (non-hybrid) Subaru Crostrek starting at $24.4K - considering MSRP, gas mileage, and future cost of repair bills. Toyota's "reputation" is no longer worth the extra $4k to $5k "Toyota hybrid fee" at purchase.
Why do you titillate people saying this is a $20,000 dollar car when it starts out at $28,000? Not very nice of you. Probably with a few options, it is closer to $32,000. A long way from your video lead.😮
Only good if you got a sizeable family. Corolla hybrid starts out at a little over 23k while getting 8mpgs more than the cross. It also benefits from not being ugly as hell.
My wife has a 23 Corolla Cross S hybrid. We bought new a year ago and It already has 15k. Its a great little car that does awesome in the snow and we're avg 41 MPG. No complaints with this car purchase.
Really? You're calling a vehicle that starts at $28,000 MSRP (meaning nearly everyone who buys one is going to be paying over $30,000) is "a $20,000 vehicle"?
I live in Thailand and bought the 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross. (22,000 USD/796,000 thb ) Just below the Corrola Cross. 2 wd drive 1.2 liter hybrid. Gets 45 miles in the city to the gallon. Its not the fastest car but really nice to get around.
My main complaint about hybrids is after 8 years. I'm going to have to replace the battery and the whole car is not going to work right if I don't Yes I do appreciate the fuel efficiency but that's only if you decide to drive like your grandmother hybrids tend to be less fuel efficient if you have a heavy foot
AWD means you're supposed to replace all four tires if you get a nail too close to the sidewall on one tire. AWD cars have more points of failure and the tires make them expensive to own in unexpected situations.
Terrible decision by Toyota not having a TRD Camry in manual. Though my O7 Camry is a manual and whenever I take it to a shop the technicians are surprised that it's a manual.
Honda has terrible automatics. My 2019 SI was a nightmare. Had to sell it. It was a manual so the problem wasn't the transmission it was the 1.5 turbo engine. When I was there for service, a lot of people had transmission problems in on warranty work. Honda is really slipping.
Our work has a few Corolla Cross Hybrids that they just got. I have to say that they drive fine as far as how the car operates. However, the thing is pretty noisy when you accelerate using any kind of significant acceleration.
Good for you. I’m thinking of replacing my 01’ RAV (255,000 miles), with either a Cross, Mazda cx30 or another RAV. Our garage is tight and frankly the new RAV is 15” longer and 6” wider than my 01. Both of the others are smaller than the new RAV, but both are still slightly bigger than the 01. It really will make a difference, and I’m not parking outside!! I will test drive all 3, but who know if they will even be in stock to do so. I’ll start looking the end of November..
How good are Hybrid car gas engines ? That is where the long term quality cash value will shine or lack of same will bite buyers in the butt. Fusion is easy. Capturing the "heat energy" in the fast neutrons being given off is hard. Then there is the slight problem that robots must be designed to do all the needed work around these "reactors" once they get hours on them rather than just seconds.
Imagine if the average person made informed decisions are voted with their Dollars where it really counts. But people apparently prefer big tech, corporatism, control grids, big government, welfare, and crappy products.
Yeah, If I had my druthers, I'd like paying a person taxi/delivery person directly for something rather than a big corporation such as Uber. Definitely will not be in any autonomous vehicle for years which I will never get in one until deemed completely safe or safer than your average driver. Like the cone incident with the Waymo cars many unforeseen circumstances.
I love my 2022 corolla cross. Even though its not the biggest, it does have the most room for the driver compared to the Rav4 and Lexus suvs ive test drove.
The toyota corolla just introduced their new kid on the car lot. And hope it is a decent choice since people loved toyota hybrid options as well than the electric counterparts of the car marketing industry.
I test drove it. Didn't like it at all. too narrow: my wife beside me our elbows were touching, also steering felt too much play in the wheels very uncomfortable feel and also had a warning light go on at a red light telling me battery needed charging. Very weird. ordered the rave 4 instead, night and day difference.
Exactly, as Scotty said: How could nuclear waste be a problem..? It's 1/2,000,000 of hydrocarbon-waste!!! Bc a fission bond is >2M x more energy dense than the already energy dense hydrocarbon chemical bond.
I had the 2024 Yarris cross. It was horrible. I had a 2009 Prius that was amazing, the Yarris has cvt tranny, terrible mpg and the batteries only charge to 50% to save their lifespan. I sold it after 6 mos. New hybrids are trash compared to the early Toyota tech.
No, Scotty, no. This study compares the reliability of FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) vehicles to Toyota vehicles, based on owner satisfaction surveys, maintenance records, and performance data from 10,000 vehicle owners. Key Findings: • FCA vehicles received a higher reliability satisfaction score (8.5/10) than Toyota (7.8/10). • FCA vehicles averaged 1.2 repairs per year, while Toyota averaged 1.8. • Breakdown rates for FCA were lower (3%) compared to Toyota (5%). • After five years, 88% of FCA owners reported their vehicles performing like new, compared to 82% of Toyota owners. Conclusion: The study, conducted in January 2023, suggests that FCA vehicles may be more reliable than Toyota vehicles, challenging existing perceptions in the automotive market.
The only issue the Japanese reactors had, was putting the Backup Generators down low where they could & did get flooded, if they were high & dry, they would work, the pumps would work & all would be happy. Call it a brain fart in design. Russia was a lot worse.
I like how everyone talks about the environment like we're all having trouble breathing. But nobody wants to bring up the fact that our tap water is filled chemicals that are not meant for purifying or cleaning water. Like fluoride, arsenic, and other dangerous carcinogens.
Scotty, you recommend the Corolla Cross Hybrid but it has the ECVT transmission. I thought you didn't trust CVT trannys? How long should I wait to buy a used one?
We swore we wouldn’t be our grumpy ‘nothing’s good today’ parents, but here we are. So much new tech-why not be supportive and cautiously optimistic? Just because we might not live to see the bugs worked out?
i road one for an hour in the back seat its crap bad interior colors not comfortable seats that feels too tight road isolation it crap .. toyota yaris have better road isolation

I like talking to cab drivers, too, but Big Tech wants complete control, that is, unless someone comes to power and stops them.
Imagine if the average person made informed decisions are voted with their Dollars where it really counts.
But people apparently prefer big tech, corporatism, control grids, big government, welfare, and crappy products.
@@DeeDee-pw9pm You just summed up America's problems but we see.
I guess you always go to the store to buy stuff and not order online.
@@martinekstrom6303 I do a lot of shopping at the stores when I can.
Thanks for the information Scotty i wish i could find a Toyota for 20000$ but that ain't about to happen with all the bureaucracy involved 😮
My 1st Turd Cell went over 500 miles on a full tank highway driving.
LOL And another great hyperbolic Intro 😂😂😂
Scotty uses exaggeration to get u to listen to his speech. He’s very informative, giving his great insight into automotive ownership.
A corolla cross hybrid XSE is 41,000. I just went to the dealership last week.
Nice to drive. Woulda bought it if it were 35k, not 41k.
About 18 minutes currently to charge the best EV car battery with supercharger from 10 to 80%
Imagine what that does to the lifespan of the battery..
Weren't Rav 4s in the 20,000s just recently. Times have changed!
Pretty sharp looking cheque and future commitments, gotta say.
Traffic and other road factors are bad enough in SF without adding a self-driving experiment.
Maybe you could charge your battery in 12mins, but if there is a queue, you'll be waiting in line but at least the queue will move along more quickly!
I love my 2022 corolla cross. Even though its not the biggest, it does have the most room for the driver compared to the Rav4 and Lexus suvs ive test drove.
Based on what I’ve seen, I like the Corolla cross! Although I’m pretty sure it’s not made in Japan 🥲.
@@davido3746. Right. They are made in Huntsville, AL. I wasn’t a fan of that either. My 01 RAV was made in Japan. I feel like it makes a difference.
I just bought a Corolla cross hybrid. Best car I ever bought.
It sounds like the semi solid state battery is not even a game change. Charge anything at 400 volts and it will charge quickly.
The toyota corolla just introduced their new kid on the car lot. And hope it is a decent choice since people loved toyota hybrid options as well than the electric counterparts of the car marketing industry.
The corolla cross is excellent car, it has much cargo as Rav4. Ideal for budget friendly these days, when everything is expensive with inflation
Honda is fine, Scotty.
Yep. And Mazda.
Honda has weak trannies
Mazda is great!
The corolla cross we test drove had road noise from hell. The rav4 is so much quieter its worth the difference in price.
I'm never buying a brand new vehicle no matter the make. to buy a used one, buy a 2020 model or older.
$28,000 is not $20,000 but its in the 20's!! so maybe he gets a pass
Exactly, as Scotty said: How could nuclear waste be a problem..? It's 1/2,000,000 of hydrocarbon-waste!!!
Bc a fission bond is >2M x more energy dense than the already energy dense hydrocarbon chemical bond.
they lie about the battery, they'll lie about the range, and I'd check the air bags second
How's 28K is 20K?
No, Scotty, no.
This study compares the reliability of FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) vehicles to Toyota vehicles, based on owner satisfaction surveys, maintenance records, and performance data from 10,000 vehicle owners.
Key Findings:
• FCA vehicles received a higher reliability satisfaction score (8.5/10) than Toyota (7.8/10).
Conclusion:
The study, conducted in January 2023, suggests that FCA vehicles may be more reliable than Toyota vehicles, challenging existing perceptions in the automotive market.
Scotty there is no hybrid Toyota for 20 or 28k, get out of the box and go to store and you will find very quickly 😉
We know, Scotty. You’re taking your money with you.
The best solution for a car longevity and gas mileage is the manual transmission. Hybrid cost a lot.
In Europe the recyle the fuel that they use for Nucleat power. They spin it again and it save mose of it from being wasted.
The only issue the Japanese reactors had, was putting the Backup Generators down low where they could & did get flooded, if they were high & dry, they would work, the pumps would work & all would be happy. Call it a brain fart in design. Russia was a lot worse.
I see quite a few waymo taxis around Phoenix.
Scotty do the story on the CAT truck coming out for 10k!
We didn't need an SUV so we got a Corolla for a little less money. The gas mileage is excellent.
He trusts Toyota CVTs fyi.
This channel while very informative on repair seems to lie a lot on new car low prices.
Will it charge that fast and NOT EXPLODE? I just went through that with a 😮 Hoverboard.
Yes, Robo Scotty rambles on & on but at least it’s not an empty word salad- but then where is his Ritalin???
where i live - in europe - there is all car prices the same - €50K
A.I. also has a habit of rewriting history. Now I saw something like that in a movie once.
Double plus good...
We swore we wouldn’t be our grumpy ‘nothing’s good today’ parents, but here we are. So much new tech-why not be supportive and cautiously optimistic? Just because we might not live to see the bugs worked out?
20,000.00 or 28,000.00 ??????
So Scotty, would you like a British voice behind a curtain reading out your show? I’m an Old English Sheepdog and I work for bones!
i road one for an hour in the back seat
its crap
bad interior colors
not comfortable seats that feels too tight
road isolation it crap .. toyota yaris have better road isolation
Waylon also uses Jaguars! So piss away millions on. POS to base your test vehicles, not Toyota,Honda etc…Jags..lol
I think he’s going to announce the new Toyota Stout truck for 2025. This truck will start with a base price of around $25,000 - $28,000.
I pulled a scotty kilmer waving my arms talking loudly .
A lot of the Chinese Ev's are catching fire. EVEN in the showroom
I will keep my 2015 Tesla with 240K miles on it... , visiting dealer every 12-16 months or 60-100k miles.
Looking forward to cardboard valve cover.
Saw cop video's pulling them over in Arizona. No one driving, the cop talks to the screen in the car..idiots on both sides
So was the cop suppose to knock the screen out and take it to jail? 😂
it's not 20k in canada
I own a Toyota & a Honda & like them both equally! Neither is hybrid/turbo🤔
28k isn’t really a good deal. It’s cheaper for a Impreza or crosstrek…
What the powers that be have investments in is the most interesting way to identify corruption.
Rumor has it that the Toyota Cross vehicles are being recalled?
Ya, no

Yeah and by the time it gets to the dealership it'll be twice that! remember the Greed Factor
Theres no 20k new Toyota anymore 😅
Paid 28K for my new 2019 RAV4 XLE AWD !
That robot skit😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'd only get it if it came with a manual transmission.
Where Scotty gets those prices?
