I cant believe all the positive comments! This is going to be soooo uncomfortable. Holes in socks need darning not sewing up like it was a seam. you won't feel the repair if it's darned and the sock will be just a comfortable as it was when new and darning isn't difficult
TIP: use the light bulb, but instead of ordinary thin thread, use thicker embroidery thread and leap across the open hole running the thread in a grid pattern and you'll KEEP THE SHAPE and cover the hole at once.
Been sewing sock holes for years. If you see a SMILE on your sock, fold it another way until the sock fibers are flatter. Socks look and feel better on your foot. The only smile should be on your face.
Worked like a champ. I always wear a hole in my right big toe. I wear expensive running socks and it drives me nuts to have holes. The light bulb trick was awesome thank you!
Thank you! In Spain we use a wooden egg. A real egg, carefully handled, would do the trick the same. But the light bulb is also a great idea, thanks! Keep warm and happy enough in this marvelous winter! A man in a small white town in central Spain.
fantastic video, thank you! sewing / darning is a skill I dont have. every time I try, everything I do unravels in days. the anchor of wrapping the thread around the needle is what i need to know - thanks again.
I am glad I am not the only one who repairs my socks like this. I work as a patient transport tech at my local hospital and I walk around ten miles a day so I am always wearing holes in my socks. I love saving money. There also is a sort of pleasure stretching the use of unseen things out like boxers and socks.
yeah, but what sucks is they keep ripping out in the same place I just sewed this way 2 weeks prior! I was hoping for some miracle sock cure that I never thought of before. But thanks for posting!
Everyone’s got a little different method, my wife’s got a different method than my mom. In the end the result is the same. More mileage out of your socks equals saved money.👍👍 thanks for your support.

I love the thread 3x around the needle for knotting instead of fumbling with individual tying when finished.
Ingenious!
Thank you!
common sense lol
@@KimoKimochii maybe if you sew a lot or know a lot about knots.... But for most people, they wouldn't think of that.

I am here because my wife says I have too many socks, but I don't want to waste my money.
brilliant knot tying!
My Brand new knee high socks got holes after 2 days of me owning them😖 My accident all the sewing before😳 Thanks this video helped a lot lol😅👍
That knot trick is genius! Love it
Thank you. Helpful and soothing voice too.
Sweet! Great instructions!!!
The knot trick!!! Awesomeee
That was great and amazing diy fix to save the day!😃👍
This feels AWFUL on your feet. You can feel it with every step you take!!
😂😂😂
Is it possible you put the stitching on the inside of the sock?
This was worth the watch for the knot hack lol
right lol

Is it weird that I find this attractive?
Thanks for this! Have several socks that are just fine except for the soles also never seen that kind of knot before. ❤
I have an issue with my heels.
Where did you get that awesome basket for your thread?
Instead of a lightbulb I used a nearly finished roll of parcel tape, thank you!
isnt the lightbulb thing slightly dangerous? i mean, if you're not careful it could break and hurt your hands
Thank you. Exactly what I wanted! 👏🙏
Darning is a more elegant fix - you're re-weaving the material but gads it's a time-consuming, tedious exercise.
Thanks a lot for posting this video. Great tips + easy to follow!
Thanks I need to learn this for school!
Thank you , this was easy to understand and straight to the point.👍
Thank you! It’s very helpful.
Great ideas with the light bulb. You are God like... Lol
Won’t the knot irritate your heel skin?
Probably not as much as the heel skin irritates the sock!
Thank you 🙏🏾 for sharing this video! You might’ve saved me tons of money 💰 I will most definitely try this.
The light bulb way looked so easy, why didn't u just start with that lol
Well, thank you.
The holes help my feet to breath
Thank you so much
I don't think this is the right way to darn socks. Moving on to the next video.
Thank you :)
I used a cup but will try the light bulb .
Thank you
Not how I darn socks...
🔥landed🔥
I didn't watch through the video but judging by the other comment this is very useful.
You got to be kidding me 😮p
Lol

Textile waste pollutes the environment. Mending clothes helps them out of the landfill and saves you money

I always keep saying "Rather a hole in your sock than a sock in your hole"
Eh...???
