Great video again. Are there any disadvantages if you use insulated plasterboard even if it's a cavity wall? Building regs inspector advised to do it when he came to inspect an RSJ....as the walls were stripped back to brick. Cheers.
@@SDRobertsPlastering Told the inspector that it's a cavity wall and it has insulation, albeit the old minced knauf, but he replied it will make quite a difference in energy saving and energy certification, even if we use the 37.5mm insulated plasterboard.
I had two "specialist" insulation companies come out to inspect my cavity in order to remove my old insulation and replace it with polystyrene beads. They both said that they were unable to help because the homebuilders have used batt cavity in my walls, instead of fibre that they can't vacuum it out, so I'm kind of helpless at the moment. Any idea what I can do?
Providing the existing insulation is fine, to further increase the insulation in the property you can install EWI or IWI. which option to choose depends on budget and practicality

Only real disadvantage in the way of losing floor space. Cavity wall insulation (when done correctly) is a good option

To stop condensation hurting your property we Germans invented something we call "Lüften".
