Moving to nyc in June and this is my ideal price point, design style, and # of bedrooms/roommates!! 🤩 loved to get some major inspiration from your space!!
@@CeliaSkvaril my dog was 8 yo when we got a 10 week old kitten. The kitten was a runt and weighed less than 1 lb.. (the dog is 10 lbs)... so i suggest getting one as a tiny baby... or raising them together... or - you know your original animal very well - .. our dog loves every living creature... from human down to guinea pigs.. he always has since we got him at 8 weeks old.. so i trusted him with the kitten from day one. Our dog and cat play just like yours...
Oh wow, I remember seeing Carrie's video of her other apartment! Loved her style then and still love it now. What a cozy home these 2 young ladies have and the dog and cat playing together is *chefs kiss*!
I LOVE seeing more colors in apartments. This apartment really nicely incorporates colorful accents with the mostly neutral colored space. I’m slowly incorporating more color and patterns to my neutral themed apartment, and this gave me some great ideas.
SAME! Idk about you but I feel like filling my space with color drastically improves my mood too, I can't stand living in a dull colored space anymore.
This was a delightful surprise. I have seen too many small spaces where the tour is about the bare bones of the place accented with "and this drawer has my cutlery," or "We have a couch and chair." This lovely home had many well chosen decor touches for the viewer's eyes to enjoy but it never becomes cluttered. There was a lot of effort and skill implemented here. Thank you for sharing.
Very inspiring and cozy. Also not too designed, they both are actually living in the space. Great talent to design a space in a cheerful and calming way ❤
Great space! This video kinda reminded me of life when I was younger and had a roommate, we had a lot of fun together. Embrace life, and enjoy your youth!
Wow, what a lovely home they’ve made for themselves! And I love how much they care for and respect each other as roommates, as evidenced by the thoughtfulness in how they approached the apartment.
Well done, ladies and Apartment Therapy. Thank you for actually showing the kitty’s litter box and where all the nitty gritty items of daily life are stored. This was a great tour.
For the bedroom with the tiled Parsons style table/desk: Float the bed in middle of room with headboard (?) end closest to window. Place the blue tiled table behind the headboard and push flush against the headboard. Now, the light is to your back for doing art, makeup, etc. Move the white chest of drawers to the nook area where bed used to be. Put clothing racks on either side of the white chest-now the area looks intentional as a "closet." You could even hang a curved rod from the ceiling and close the closet area off with fabric panels. Not necessary, but you could if you wanted. Personally, I would try the bed without a headboard, with the tiled table pushed flush against the bed frame/mattress. Eh, it's a fun Saturday project to move things around and try. If you don't like it, move it back. But I think it would be more interesting and it would allow you to leave an art project out on the table if you aren't finished. Dress the bed to WOW when seen from the door and the bed becomes your focal point. You could literally add anything behind the bed as a "headboard" that could be part of the statement and functional to the table side.
please PLEASE feature more apartments with colorful and eclectic decor. There's not enough videos featuring fun and unique apartments such as this, and just too many tours of apartments that are bland and lacking in color/uniqueness.
I know this channel isn't about that but would love to hear how they co-own the space. Friends buying things together seems like something we will see more and more of as prices increase and people stay single.
We co own the purple bistro table and a couple other things! So one of us buys it from the other when we move out. Same with some bathroom stuff and curtains I think? But majority of the furniture for the common space Carrie purchased because she would end up wanting to keep it.
This is a gorgeous apartment very well done 530 ft² in comparison to some UA-cam or that has a 529 ft² here in apartment therapy what a big difference the 529 ft² that she pays $2300 is more like no one lives in it it's like a catalog but this apartment this is what I'm talking about it's so well done You can tell that these young beautiful ladies live in this apartment
I totally love your place I love that in your bedroom each one of you have your own unique designs.. and you both through the rest of the apartment gave the look of both of your choices.. great job girls!!
Love you two and how you work together! I swapped out my squat tie potty for a foam yogi block ! Works great and less obvious as to its purpose and tucks out of my husbands way . If you come up with a trick for when away from home please share 😂 for now I get very creative 😂
cute place! .......IMHO when you "DIY the chair seat I think the frame of the chairs need to be a different color also..... LOVE that area ur in!!! So close to the park, trains, etc.
This space is so adorable! Unique, character, colorful, trendy, feminine and modern all in one. Btw…does anybody know what that hamburger thing is at 11.34 in the video?
Wychodźcie ze swoimi kotami na spacery! Psy wychodzą a koty jak więźniowie, siedzą ciągle w domu... pozdrowienia Polski❤ Ślicznie urządzone mieszkanie!
I have put litter boxes in kitchen cabinets and closets for my decorating clients for years with absolutely no complaints.. As long as you change it frequently scoop it daily and use a stick up in there there’s no problem
Agreed. I'm really lucky, my apartment has a long skinny closet I don't use that has vinyl floor and it was the perfect space for my cat's litterbox. I just removed the door and it was perfectly out of the way for my cat.
Very well decorated, but 530 sq feet is a STUDIO. Maybe a ONE BEDROOM. Don't even say, "Oh that's New York." I've lived in a 1200 sq foot 3BR apartment that was $3K with a real kitchen. That landlord is gross for splitting that space to make a fake 2BR to charge more. Notice it's a kitchenette and a VERY small space for a living room. It should at least be an additional 100 sq feet.
Litter box inside a clothing and storage closet? Hard pass. Regardless of the litter box having a lid, the fumes and odor still gets out and spreads through the surrounding area smh
I did this when I was renting years ago. I had a toddler who wanted in the cat box. The only spot that made sense was in the closet and leaving the door open a cat sized crack. I scooped the litter daily. The closest never got stinky. I'm sure if you didn't scoop daily it would get gross, but it would no matter where it is in the house! My next home had a basement so the kitty box was down there but still scooped daily. House after that didn't have a single closet and was completely open floor plan with the only door begin on the very tiny bathroom. I placed the cat box in the small entry way and had dogs so I faced the opening towards the wall BC otherwise the dogs were in it. 🤢 With this side being small and the bathroom being tiny, I'm not sure where else you would put a cat box? I sure wouldn't want to be cooking or eating or watching tv or sleeping and smell the cat go to the bathroom, and they have a dog so chances are they need it in a spot the dog can't easily access
excited to share the space with you guys! thanks so much for coming by! 🥰
Thank you for having us Carrie!!

A dog and a cat living together in peace and playful harmony. The women are living in a space of tranquility.
I need to know their secrets. My cat can’t make eye contact with my dog or he’ll just get so defensive

Excellent example of post modern decor done right. Brava!
I remember that first apartment tour video! It was a beautifully done space too.
loved every inch of this space. and the pet combo sooooo awesome!
Absolutely inspiring! Well done, girls. So creative, love all the DIYs. My son's NYC studio feels like a yucky cave. Love seeing what is possible.

This is so lovely
Stunning! 2 questions: 1. where’s the little earring holder from? and 2. why not a bed skirt for hiding the storage boxes??
Really lovely & beautifully arranged ❤
This is not my style at all but I absolutely love it 😍

NY rental prices are 🤯🤯 even compared to L. A. 3k for 530sq feet is extortion.
Trust me 😢😢
Well done!

The zebra is super cool.
Cat litter in the closet seems like a terrible idea al your clothes will stink. And be full of bacteria. Why not put it in the bathroom?

I think that particular model probably blocks the smell! Definitely wouldn’t do it if it was an open litter box tho

Does having the litter box in your closet make your clothes smell?
my mom had a zebra like that 😮
What's the back story on your huge living room mirror?
Geez I’ve seen flippers who sold houses for less and still make close to 100k in profit. That San Francisco market is shit!!

I DON'T LIKE THE KITCHEN IS TO SMALL AND FOR THE CUPS AND GLASSES AND POTS AND FRYERS ISN'T RIGHT PLACE.🤪
It’s a lovely decorated apartment however I have to cringe at the thought of a litter box in a clothes closet. Why not somewhere else?
I clean it daily, so it doesn’t smell. It’s hard to find somewhere that’s dog friendly but also it really doesn’t fit anywhere else.
