DJ Vadim no prob, u should be more experimental, looking for new musical ways, and separate music from comedy. if u have jokes to tell, make stand up comedy or so. wish u all the best.
Wombat Harness i should be who i want to be and not just who you or anyone else wants me to be. i can only b honest to myself.. even the word ' experimental' is subjective. one cannot invent a new music genre over night. everything that is released is a variation of something . perhaps blended with something in a new way but more often than not - music nowadays is formula and really just copys of things that are big hit sellers. . there are lots of new movements in music but unless u are on that scene, it may just pass u by. just like for my mother who would not know the differenc between dubstep and drum n bass .to her thats all just repetiitive noise. experimental is not my primary concern . im not a scientist or want to b some sort of creator living on the edge of musicality. i make music for myself. if thats selfish. then so be it. im selfish. i want to make honest music i love and rit enow a lot of it is int he reggae hiphop umbrella. if u want experimetal sounds fo goldfish being electrcuted(yes i saw that at a french festival) then im sure ninja tune and warp and squarepusher are more apt. there is a time and place for everything. its just not where i ever was or ever will be. then again, never say never! as for comedy. i guess your refering to the end part. well thts only in the video. things need to b taken with a pinch of salt. its entertainment. There are many wonderful recordings from john cage and stockhausen where u can hear genuis minds breaking music boundaries. i highly recommend u to listen to that for something a little more serious and experimental.
DJ Vadim unfortunately you got me wrong. experimental does not mean stockhausen, or that you should beat a garbage container with an iron pipe. it must be very hard for you, who was very big in the 90 ties, to compete with this ableton kids and their sample packs. but it could be a challenge as well, to make new music, in the era where music is made in ten minutes and thrown away after 10 minutes. new music does not mean, that u have to invent a new genre, or rhytm pattern. techno will be always 4/4, never will be 8/8 or 6/6. but there is always the possibility to find new percussion, new melody, a new collaborator. i think you should risk more. this is a mediocre track, it harms nobody, says nothing, just keeps the name vadim on rotation. there is a difference being a musician, and being an entertainer. wish you all the best!
