Duuuuude, the explanation of how egg cycles work with multiple eggs in the party finally explains the superstition I had as a kid that eggs hatch faster at the front of your party!!!!! I spent years SWEARING that I noticed it made a difference when I was hatching multiple eggs, but nothing I read about eggs mentioned doing that as something that sped up egg cycles!!! Makes so much sense that it wasn't being sped up, per se, but the eggs lower in the party were being slowed down by the cycles not being lowered!
So happy to see you finish this hunt!!! I know you've been working at it for YEARS, and seeing you see it all the way through is inspirational!! Glad the Tomy Riolu from SSC served as a good luck charm!!! Hope Uxie treats you well
It's kinda wild how we can pick up on things like that without fully understanding it! I was blown away when I fully understood what the algorithm was doing. It might not help me (I don't think I'm touching GenIV eggs for a longgggg time), but hopefully this information helps speed up other people's hunts!

That's so cool. 4 years on one hunt on and off is crazy. Ive been on Bulbasaur in Leaf Green for 3 months now to be fair, though i only have one game. Taking a break today to do Destiny Mark hunts in S/V. Be back to the grind for Bulbasaur tomorrow.
Long hunts are something that scares me. But as I sit over 60k into Mudkip on Ruby for my first DTQ. I did Jirachi and have began setting up my Manaphy hunt

I am currently trying to hatch eggs for the Battle Factory / Mt Battle facilities in Gen 3, so your egg information was very informative for me - keep up the shiny hunts and content! ☺️
your first dtq you planned when new to hunting is pretty much the exact opposite of mine. i was MORTIFIED at the idea of phasing, so much so that i took a branching paths approach, where depending on which shiny i found i had a sort of flowchart that made me hunt different targets down the line. for example, i planned on using either lapras or aerodactyl for surf / fly depending on which of slowpoke and zubat i found in slowpoke well (naturally i found the 15% slowpoke). now i prefer phasing for a specific team but the flowchart approach was kind of cool, neat idea younger me
Lucario is a special mon. In Brawl, he was also voiced by the same actor who does Goku in the US version, so to me, that was the closest (at the time) we got to Goku in smash bros, lol

Very insightful video. I had no idea about the egg cycle algorithm, let alone that it stops after an egg hatches. That'll definitely help with hatching Scythers in Gen 4.
This can be even faster on a modded 3ds where you can check without hatching and save reload
