During her journey to destroy every remnant of Soul Edge she could possibly encounter, her sword began to change and become harder to control. Taking a temporary break she returned to England to further her studies. After locating a mysterious book in an old shop she began to decipher it and discovered that the book contained information about Soul Edge and also Soul Calibur. After deciphering the book a strange man appeared in her home (Zasalamel). Ivy lost the duel and the man burned the books before remarking that if Ivy wanted more information she should start by tracking Nightmare.
The ending shown is the input ending. The doppelgänger fight also causes the stage to glitch momentarily for some unknown reason.
Did you know that Ivy and Nightmare both appear in portraits on some stages? Ivy appears in a portrait with her adoptive family in the Valentine Mansion stage. Nightmare appears on a battlefield standing over a multitude of bodies on the Old Toledo stage. The same stage's owner is said to be researching Soul Edge and this scene may have been what inspired him.
The footage is taken from the PlayStation 2 version of the game.
