Carmen may have had more onscreen time for sexual chemistry with Shane, but... Quiara definitely has the emotional connection with her.

@@jeannettescott2475 You're kidding, right? Carmen never manipulated Shane the way Quiara did. Sure, Carmen used Jenny to make Shane jealous, but at least she didn't use a fetus as a blackmail weapon like Quiara did.
@@TDKiller415 I don't know Jeannette Scott seems to me that Shane made the decision to be with her wife because as she said she loves her. So, sometimes you have to compromise. Shane is good with kids and really most folks she would make a great mother. Shane just doesn't know it. Sometimes folks need a little push to be the best person they can be. :)
@@willingj1 Well the point I'm mainly making is that Quiara was wrong for her because of her selfish attitude. Yes, Shane has shown she is great with kids, but if you and your partner separate because your partner does not want kids, you leave your partner alone and move on. You DO NOT get pregnant and show up at your partner's doorstep or wherever in the hopes that it will bring your partner back out of guilt, because that's pure manipulation. Quiara was in the wrong here, she should've got pregnant AFTER it was agreed that she would have sole responsibility of the baby, not before.
I was glad when Quiara had the miscarriage and left Shane. It served Quiara right, and Shane deserved to be free of her. The child would've grown up in a terrible environment if Shane and Quiara were constantly arguing about responsibilities and most likely become a traumatised delinquent or junkie.
@@TDKiller415 Ok, I understand. I just wish there were some couples on these shows that actually can stay together. Be a great example that these relationships is not always about how much sex you can get when you're attached or not.
Are you going to tell me that marrying Carmen was more terrifying than accepting to be a parent with this Quiara??????

I loved Quiara because she accepted Shane as who she is. I rewatched the original show and figured there was NO chemistry between Carmen and Shane. Carmen always wanted to change her for the better but Quiara is different asshe sees her and therefore she's the real deal....
So I thought and then the final episode happened. And now, I am not that sure anymore.
That was the Carmen de la Pica Morales who Ilene Chaiken wrote.
But Chaiken's era is over.
I'm personally hoping for Carmen to come back. With Marja's writing skills, I'm sure they can find a possible way to make it work. This first season of Generation Q has shown us all that there is hope and potential for all of the main characters.

I don’t think that Shane and Quiara are meant for each other. Quiara is making Shane change to be with her and is giving her ultimatums which just isn’t fair. I love Shane’s character but I feel like Quiara’s presence and their story has really changed Shane and how she lives her life. I feel like Shane needs to be with someone that she can be spontaneous with and travel the world, not someone who wants her to settle down and have a child that Shane doesn’t want.
Quiara is gorgeous! She was in the movie The First Purge.

@@cic7594 You mean the sex then. I think Dani and Sophie and Micah and Jose had far more chemistry than Bette and Tina and Alice and Dana ever did. The new couples were people genuinely in love but who had their own problems. The original couples' problems were all based on sex.

@@cic7594 No. This show really hit more on what it means to be in a relationship and the hurdles in it. Accepting who you are and what you are. That's what this show is about. We're figuring out lives of the characters we were not there for. Their hardships and their struggles without us knowing. In the original L Word, it was already established what it was that was happening. Tina and Bette are together, Alice and Dana were in a complicated relationship but it was still pretty solid and where it would go. Shit we even knew Shane was a playboy(?) by the time she was introduced. Now, things are more solid. People change. Lives change. It was hard to accept Shane was married but she was also in a very serious relationship with Carmen in the original. Yes, there is no sex but it is about connection and realizing who you are with someone or anyone for that matter. If you're not looking for realistic themes then you could just go and find lesbian porn and call that a love story.
I thought Angie would be younger. Wasn’t she like 2 in TLW series?

Yea Angie was born in Season 2, which was ‘05. So, she’d be 14 in 2019 not 16.
@@alexandraquintana8186 Not necessarily. Season 3 picked up six months after season 2, and season 4 maybe a couple of weeks after season 3. There was no time for Angie to become six years old in season 6. The oldest she could've been was two or three years old.
But of course, for some people, 3 + 10 = 16.

I think Quiara was a very selfish and manipulative person. The REASON why they separated was because Shane didn't want kids, and now she shows up pregnant and says that she will take full responsibility while knowing perfectly well that it won't be as simple as that?
Getting pregnant was just Quiara's way to manipulate and force Shane to come back to her out of some sense of guilt and moral obligation, and Shane fell for it because deep down she's a decent person. Having a child has to be a JOINT decision, not by force or manipulation. I was happy Quiara left Shane. Hopefully Carmen can come back. She was Shane's one true love. Cherie was a drug-using gold digger, Molly was forced by her crazy mother into homosexuality as a weapon against her father, Paige was a vengeful arsonist and Jenny was simply mentally unstable.
I pray for Carmen to return so that hopefully she and Shane can be happy again and have children when they are BOTH ready.
The Dragon Killer I am watching the l word for the first time. So I haven’t watched this yet. However, my impression of Shane is that she is a fuck up. She didn’t have a true love whatsoever. She had a couple of long term relationships, that’s about it. I thought her leaving Carmen was the worst she could had done. But the absolute worst was when she proposed to that single mom to move in together in a new place. They go check out the apartment, the woman is with her son, she goes check out a room and there is Shane having sex with the realtor at the first chance she had. Shane is a sex addict, impulsive, thoughtless, stupid, has no sense of shame, she self sabotages, creates drama but then says women are drama( so it’s them, not her, she is a special woman), has no boundaries( at a wedding she sleeps with two bridesmaids and the mother of the bride), I could keep on. A terrible character. People think Jenny is bad, yeah I get it. But Shane is a another fuck up.
Paige didn't burn down Shane's business; Shane did that herself, it was on the tapes.
Shane continuously lied to people by promising to be faithful - to Paige and to Jenny at least - and then cheated on them anyway. No way in hell can she ever be considered a good person. Molly and Paige were wayyyy too good for her. And her relationship with Carmen was horrible, all they ever did was fight.
Shane also advised Alice to cheat on Tasha. The more I think about it, the more I remember her being an absolute shitbag...
I agree that the original L Word painted lesbians in a very negative light... remember that scene during the pink ride when they played Never Have I Ever and EVERY SINGLE MAIN CHARACTER drank because they cheated, even Alice (except for Tasha but she leaves Alice for the first pretty girl who comes along later). Like, COME ON, Ilene.
There was not a single healthy long-term relationship on that show. Which seems to be a trend that continues in Generation Q. Why can't we have one single couple that deals with issues that would occur in normal relationships, such as financial struggles, boredom in the bedroom, fights about your partner's family, etc. Just minor characters maybe? Guess it couldn't be The L Word if everything wasn't so comically extreme and everybody wasn't a horrible person...
@@ichbin296 I don't think the tapes are canon, because they were meant to set up Alice going to prison for murder, since Alice asked what the questioning had to do with "who killed Jenny" and the sergeant asks her why she thought it was a murder (since a dumb blonde like Alice wouldn't say "what happened to Jenny").
I strongly believe Paige burned Wax down and Jenny stole the negatives.
But overall, I still believe the story and all the characters went downhill starting with season 3. Ilene should've just left it at season 2.
@@TDKiller415 Well I don't blame you for not considering the tapes canon. Yes, season 2 as the end would have been good, it went downhill after that. Even finishing with season 5 would have made sense, season 6 was a mess.
And yet, I'm still going to watch Generation Q as soon as it becomes available in my country, because it is one of maybe two or three series that focus on a lesbian/bi/pan/etc. group of friends... Well, maybe Generation Q will do better, we'll see :D.

I rewatched all the episodes of shane and her short modeling career. Quiara was no where in it. Did shane forward the signed divorce papers to quiara or her lawyer?

I loved season one I don’t like season 2 I loved Shane with quiara.
Shane and Quiara were such a forced couple. The second Quiara said she was pregnant, I recognised her as a selfish manipulator.
This was their only good scene together, because of Angie and Jordi. Those two looked so sweet together.
I hated it when they had Shane in relationships with Carmen, Molly and then fucking Jenny. And then they bring in this Q chick like she was to be the one to do what Carmen, Molly and Jenny couldn't do but in the end it didn't last. Can't they just leave Shane the way she is? She is Shane without shame when she plays her game and only her gals are to blame for falling in love with the shady Shane.
